Every projects that get listed on free exchanges like few dexs aren't doing well, listing on free exchanges is a big bad idea and i don't recommend the idea at all, if you want good result for your project you have to pay for a good exchange

You guys do know that most of the big exchanges of course SAY that they don't charge a listing fee, right? But there have been a few independent investigations I remember reading where journalists just ask the site owners, and after negotiations they all ask for a fee.

They will call it service fee, or admin charges or something, but it's basically STILL a listing fee;)

lol yeah  ,it was still a fee  . duh  .  and who says that exchanges dont request for a service fee   ?

i havent heard any tho but how much more if itsa big exchange  ?  they cant become the best if they will only allow free listing because they will end up listing crappy coins  but no not  , look at binance for example , binance only list good coins and they constantyl delisting coins that does not get enough volumes anymore   . thats how strict they are   .

The process of launching a new cryptocurrency is quite a tedious one. After all, the developer (or development team) would need to make sure that the new cryptocurrency is listed on an exchange to provide liquidity for the same. Considering that centralized exchanges have dominated the space for quite some time, they've been the "go-to" route between the worlds of Fiat and crypto. I've seen many centralized exchanges these days which charge exorbitant fees for listing a coin. That's not the case with decentralized exchanges today. But they lack liquidity and provide an unfriendly experience to the end-user.

Which is why, most developers are left with no other choice but to list their coin on a centralized exchange like Binance or Bittrex. I've heard of a few centralized exchanges that are able to list a new coin if it gets an specific number of votes from the community (like Mercatox is doing right now). But I'm wondering if there are crypto exchanges out there that are able to list your coin for free without the need to obtain "x" amount of votes for listing?

If you happen to know of any crypto exchange that does this, please let me know. It could turn out to be a great start for any new cryptocurrency project which lacks funding to get listed on a serious exchange. Else, people would only be able to trade their coin of choice in a P2P manner. Any recommendations or suggestions will be highly appreciated. Thanks in advance. Smiley

Bittrex does not currently charge a fee for listing a token on any of our platforms. We believe in promoting the blockchain industry, and we have spent, and will continue to invest, significant resources to review tokens for listing on our trading platforms.

Right now some new IEO project want free listing this is not good idea for a IEO project , if IEO project want get best result need listing paid exchange , As my think this is totally depend on project team member if team member don't have any experience on crypto market than they want list fee listing exchange , and if project team member have good experience they don't want list free exchange they want list paid exchange

Of course. After all, exchanges need to live off something. Like it or not, fees are their main source of income. Still though, I'm concerned that listing fees are ridiculously high among centralized exchanges. This would make a developer's life harder as he/she would need to have enough funding (a hefty sum of money) to list the new coin in a prominent crypto exchange. While decentralized exchanges don't charge as much as centralized ones, they lack an important thing which keeps the money flowing into crypto. And that is liquidity. Centralized exchanges which require votes instead of a one-time payment for listing a new coin, seem to be a better option today.

Even so, the coin needs to have a solid vision, a good development team & community in order to become accepted by an specific centralized exchange. A coin which is highly inactive in development (like Dogecoin) has a lesser chance of being listed on a centralized exchange than otherwise. Of course, Dogecoin is an exception since it's heavily used by everyday people and widely supported by its community. I believe it has the most trading pairs in crypto land, despite being an abandoned coin in development and innovation.

Nonetheless, it seems to me that Mercatox, KuCoin, and Unnamed Exchange are good choices for listing a coin "for free". They do require votes though. However, a strong community could make the coin reach the required number of votes to get listed on any of these exchanges. Be aware that once atomic swaps become practical for mainstream use, the need for listing a coin for trading will be highly unnecessary. Which is why I believe developers would choose this route instead for their own benefit. Just my thoughts Grin
