Free wallet is online multi currency wallet that supports multiple currencies like Btc Eth etc. wherein it enables the free transaction between the free wallet users. You can even buy cryptocurrencies with the help of credit card.It is not only a web wallet but its also available for mobile devices to download, such as Ios and android.Free wallet provide some of the best features like multi-signature transaction confirmation, 2 factor and many more.so free wallet is the best secure wallet.

for multiplatform (web and mobile wallet) you can use coinbase wallet, for mobile only you can use Coinomi, of course you must setting 2fa authentication to get full secured, also enable whitelist IP for maximize your security

i think its still impossible, both of wallet above, can't save all altcoin, also not support erc20 too, you must use separate wallet, like Im token for erc20, or spesific altcoin wallet

Altcoin is not a coin. It is a collective noun used to denote all types of cryptocurrencies that are other than bitcoin. So they all have their "own" separate wallets. You have to use them to store your coins. There is Mist/Metamask for Ethereum, Litcoin Core for LTC and so on.

Some web wallets allow you to store a number of coins which may include bitcoin. But forget about coinbase that is a web wallet and we dont trust them here anymore because you dont have control over private keys if you use them. If you like them controlling your private keys and rely on them in case they get hacked then by all means use them.

I am only using Ledger Nano as even if my laptop is hacked, my wallet would still be safe and though it doesn't support all ERC-20 altcoins, you can connect it to MEW and trade the other coins. If you have just few altcoins or worthless ones, use MEW (myetherwallet). Just be sure to check the website URL before using it. Metamask installed would be better.

Better to use the hardware wallets if you can afford $80 but there are plenty of free wallets that don't require any kind of fees. For mobile, I prefer to use Trust and IMO wallets, both crypto wallets have high-level security. For desktop, use MyCrypto for ETH and altcoins, for BTC I use an Electrum desktop wallet.

Coinbase isn't a 'wallet' to hold Altcoins. Coinabse basically an exchange but most of people think that an wallet. It's not very safe to store any altcoin or bitcoin itself. You will face lots of issue like KYC. They are quite strict, sometimes transaction will stuck without KYC. Anyway, I won't prefer any exchange to hold your altcoin.

If you are looking for multi coin wallet then best choose is Ledger nano. Maximum good coins wallet there. This is the secure way to hold or store your coins. Even this isn't free but it will save your fund from hackers. Don't just find easy way, it would harmful for you.

But if you are holding a small amount of money there, I think you will not get any issue regarding KYC. I am using coinbase, I guess, for 3-4 years, and I am using it as a wallet. I was storing about 200-400usd there and didn't face any issue regarding KYC. With regards to Ledger nano, my only problem there is your money will get stuck, every time there's a firmware update. It will go on boot-loop, and it takes time to solve. Personally, I am just using Ledger for long term holding or just storing my bitcoins and other alts. But for using it, for a daily transaction, I think that is not advisable for me considering that your money might get stuck there.

Do you mean online or offline wallet or both of them?
Personally I would avoid online wallets except some because there was one website bit.ac offering storing of a lot of altcoins but they turned into scam.
On blockchain.com's wallet you can store following altcoins: Ether, Bitcoin Cash, Stellar and USD PAX.
Exodus is a good wallet for storing altcoins.
Ledger Nano S if you hardware wallet.
In overall don't leave coins on exchanges, it means you are insecure and no one knows whether something happens to your coins or not (steal, hack and etc).

You didn't face because the money you are referring to is too short to have an investigation for Coinbase. If I am not wrong, you are receiving your signature campaign payment on Coinbase or at least you have received it before. Do you know if Coinbase can detect your source of BTC which you are getting from gambling sites, your account will be frozen? You will get no way to recover your money. That's why it's better to avoid this wallet. Coinbase is a wallet and an exchange both. They are non custodial wallet.

I think this is what you are looking for, Top 100 coin's Desktop+Android+iOS wallets . Newbies be aware about fake wallet.. I saw that this day and a newly made thread wrote by @sujonali1819. Avoid those wallets that have dozen of customer complaints and not open-source or a custodial wallet. Otherwise, some of the remaining altcoins have their own wallet. You can directly visit their website.

snip-
In overall don't leave coins on exchanges, it means you are insecure and no one knows whether something happens to your coins or not (steal, hack and etc).
I agree because that means " If you dont have the private key the coins your store does not belong to you". If you are planning to store long term holding, avoid wallet asking KYC and web wallet they are not safe.

Go for Ledger Nano or Trezor yet these hardware wallets do store several altcoins but if you do actively make transactions then i would suggest

Electrum for Btc
Myetherwallet for Erc20

There are different platforms out there.Just make use their corresponding suggested wallet.Important here is that you should store up coins
on wallets that you do possess its keys.

Considering your last created thread, What I can understand is that you have lost your second approval email for coinbase. In this situation, they might freeze your account as it might seem suspicious for them and they have no fault in this. Also I am sure this would be solved sooner. Coinbase has number of coins and it might be good to store our coins too.

Coinbase is been a trusted exchange and a wallet. Also I do not think that OP has any intentions to buy a lot of altcoins which are not even listed on coinbase or not known yet but instead he would invest in those coins which are already on top rank of the coinmarketcap and also those coins are been listed on coinbase so there would be no issues in using coinbase.

Exodus wallet would be so good in the desktop wallet list which supports many Altcoins almost all major ones. For mobile wallets, I use Trust wallet which is also very good in all aspects and supported by Binance itself.

Coinomi is closed-source, and I would almost never recommend the usage of closed-source wallets. Exodus has both a desktop and mobile app, so I'd suggest using that instead Apparently Exodus is only partially open-source. Though I'd never recommend holding a huge variety of coins in the first place for obvious(smelly) reasons.

Why do people really have that belief that Coinbase is a wallet, yet its an exchange after all and storing your coins for long term is never been an ideal thing to be done.

^Above talking about Closed-source ones, then i dont also prefer or never touch any wallets on this kind. Always go for open source ones but as said when in the talks of
hodling then hardware wallet will be the best one.
