Hey all,

My apologies if this duplicates a pre-existing thread. If so, please kindly direct me to it for ease of reference.

I write to ask for y'all's opinion on the state of ASIC miners in 2020. I have around $3500 to spend on a small rig for mining an altcoin. I'm currently researching the best options available for mining ETC, as it appears to be one of the easier and more profitable coins that will remain open to mining. Any help answering these questions would be appreciated~

Is there a hands down best option for hardware? Does anyone know whether the Z11 would be able to mine ETC, or is it ZeCash only?

Is one manufacturer better than the other? Any new ASICs being released in the near future I might want to keep an eye on or delay my decision until it's released (like this, e.g., https://www.coindesk.com/powerful-new-ethereum-miner-reaches-final-stage-before-mass-production)?

Much love to those who help.

When checking for compatibility, look at the miner's algorithm.
Antminer Z11 is for "Equihash" algo while ETC (Ethereum Classic) is "EtHash", so it isn't compatible.

If you're targeting Ethereum/Ethereum Classic for ASIC mining, it's a bad choice IMO.
They are known to fork whenever there's an "ASIC risk"; if they fork after you bought your ASICs, you'll end up mining another coin.

If you are looking for ETC or Ethash ASIC miner I think there is no success ASIC to mine ethash algo. If you want to mine ETC you will need to build your own mining rig. Best for Ethash is AMD cards sample build is rx580 with 8gb cards are still great option nowadays to mine Ethereum or ethereum classic.

Use this tool https://whattomine.com/ it has a list of cards that you can choose and fine which one is cheap and with high hashrate mining ethereum classic. Disable the other algo since you are focusing on Ethash algo.

Decided to end it with zer0 profit.
