According to NIST and ECRYPT II, the cryptographic algorithms used in Bitcoin are expected to be strong until at least 2030. (After that, it will not be too difficult to transition to different algorithms.)

But it doesn't offer the credibility of a built in escrow service which somewhat dampers the reputation of it being credible.

What are some of the best places you can think to hold ICOs, that provide both the investor and the project manager security from fraud, scams so on and so forth?
ICOs? ICOs are dead.  Cheesy Or you mean IEO? 'cause if you mean IEO then the best place to do that would be on Binance.
Why? It is the most popular cryptocurrency exchange, good trading volume, and any shill post of a project connected to Binance will surely get more attention to it.
But, getting listed on that exchange is very, very difficult to achieve. The project needs to very good for them to even consider listing it.
So if you have plans on doing that, good luck.  Grin
are you sure about that? ICO is dead? then is IEO really alive? if yes, prove one of the strongest of it. if the topic is a good place for ICO or IEO, then it's not just binance. many larger ones first, such as forkdelta or etherdelta. but if it is still in the ico stage, unfortunately there are only these websites and token have not been launched to any market exchange. then what are your points ??

Registered with the government but then again what the feds do in a shity regulated ICOs gone wrong is give the owners a jail time which doesn't bring back investors funds most times. To me there's no better place that ensures security for investors and owners what gives security which is not ensured is does the project have a working product?

ICOs are no more mate and ICO can't be launched on exchange, if you want to use ICO to raise fund it will be managed by project owner or team themselves, believe me you will end up with worse results because investors wont invest on ICO

Binance is not guarantee best place for saving and investing with IEO coin, look how many IEO have lower price listed with Binance exchange, better keep away from investing with ICO and IEO better take holding with top ten altcoin in coin market cap, what for waste much money and time with shit coin of IEO. Moment for ICO and IEO have ended more than six months ago and now era for investing only with altcoin ready on exchange market.
if you save all the results of Initial Coin Offerings in an exchange such as Binance it will not be safe because not all ICO results can enter the Binance exchange place, so it is better you can save all the results of ICO in Myetherwallet which in my opinion is a wallet to store all erc20 assets the safest.

If I’m talking about a product before it is released, then I think it’s better not to buy it. Because almost all coins lose their value after entering the market. So it is better to wait for the end of IEO and ICO and buy already on exchanges that have established themselves. Top 10 is on the forum.

In my opinion, the best place for selling new tokens is through exchangers, especially exchangers who already have a reputation for investors. Many investors still feel that ICO is not a safe place to invest because of the many scams that have occurred in recent years

It is true that we see that many ICO projects end in failure and some of them have no value when they enter into exchange. And sometimes developers enter their tokens into bad exchanges or it can be said that exchanges that don't have a good reputation will certainly end up with no value and holding the tokens will only end in vain.

Crowdfunding in general should be held in a reputable platform.  At least on that reputable platform, they do project background check and the legitimacy of the project.  One that I known is Binance, kucoin, huobi though I can say not all that chooses those exchange platform for their crowdfunding are successful.

when they put the token at the exchange place with a bad reputation they already work together the CEO will not provide support to the price of the token and the cost is very cheap with very easy requirements whereas if you want to register at a large exchange place like Binance or others requires a fee very expensive and difficult requirements.

ICO are dead nowadays and I dont think there will be investors investing in ICO as most of them turns into scam or turns worthless when it comes to exchange. If you are referring to Initial exchange Offering which is the trend today then the best exchange for IEO's are Binance, Kucoin, Huobi, Gate and Okex. Don't invest on the IEO that launched on cheap or new exchange, you will lose your investments.

What about airdrops? Do investors like airdrops?

Airdrops are good. But how do you expect the promoters to gain cash from such practices? Airdrops are usually done, so that a struggling project can get an increase in userbase, acceptance and adoption. But normally this is being done for already listed projects and not for the fresh projects. If they do airdrops for fresh projects, then how the promoters will be able to cover the development costs?

If you are talking about IEO then I can say Latoken,Binance,Bittrex,Kucoin are the best places to hold IEO. They are already popular specially Latoken is very popular for IEO right now as I can see.

I was thinking maybe like an EBay or another ecommerce platform that would help both parties minimize scams and fraud. Any thoughts?

An e-commerce-like platform for ICO? Sounds weird to me. Nobody talks about ICOs anymore. No good project right now will launch an ICO when there is a better alternative, IEO. Talking about security for both investors and team members, the team should go for reputable exchanges even with their tight terms and conditions, rather than going for crappie exchanges.

are you sure about that? ICO is dead?
Yes. Is it, recently, have you seen any startups or projects running an Initial coin offering having some success on their sales? No. You know why? Because people nowadays have better knowledge than the old days.
IEOs are far better since it is a guarantee that a project running an IEO would surely get listed on that specific exchange, regardless of how shitty that exchange is, trading of that tokens would surely happen and it would surely have some value. Of course there's still a chance that the value of the token/coin would decrease but that's entirely out of this discussion.

many larger ones first, such as forkdelta or etherdelta.
Are you seriously suggesting running an IEO on those DEXs? LMAO Have you seen how low their volume is and how easily the prices can be manipulated?
By my experience, only scam and shitty projects tend to do their IEOs on decentralized exchanges.
Why? because they could easily get listed, no background checks, no fees, no accountability from the project team itself and that on its entirety is bad towards any investors.

What are you talking about, none of these commercial platform will take the risk to accommodate any scam projects and if these big corporate companies wants to come up with a business they do not need to collect money in that name as they have the funds to accommodate and experiment any projects they want. The biggest problem is always the idea of making quick money by these developers which should end.
