Sure. But unfortunately not a lot of people are fond of actually reading and doing research. Heck, even Bitcointalk members still gets scammed and hacked. The reason why we see a lot of posts concerning scams and security in general, is to hopefully decrease the number of people that get scammed/hacked.

Even with one single topic post, if it manages to teach even only one single person about security, I'd say it's already worth it. Unfortunately sometimes we need to shove things down people's throats for them to realize how important security(and privacy) is.

There is no reason why new generations have to loose in the same way others did already.

Not all new crypto users can be scammed, and not all old crypto users can avoid scammers.
This is a matter of personality. The thread that you mean is still difficult to spread seeing scammers have many ways to find the next victim. If someone can further enhance curiosity and reduce greed, they won't end tragically. They'll do more research and gather information from various parties as much as possible on new coins where suspicious information (if any) won't be included by the scammer in the presentation.

Some of those who got scammed are not familiar with a forum like this. Most investors are mostly lurking on telegram and that's where the place most newbies got scammed.

I read many reports on Scam Accusation about being scammed by telegram. The case here is the scammer impersonate most admins of project and they will entertain you like if you need help then later down to asking some payment or whatever.

We should always remind them dont trust stranger and be resourceful to search what the project they are investing. Aside from bitcoin most of the new ones are likely to be scam. So better we must warn them always.

I think this board still has some important threads to read on for awareness of not to be scammed. There are a lot of numerous threads and articles lurking on the internet on how to avoid, how to spot a potential scammer and so forth. If I'm to put my money on some kind of investment I'd rather study it first, ask someone and really do further research on the legitimacy of a certain project, not just diving on it at first thought because they said that you'll earn a massive cashback guaranteed daily/weekly/monthly from them, that's for sure a red-flag.

But scammers are getting smarter day by day. Their tricks of scamming innocent people are improving. Even if we keep on sharing our own experience and knowledge, we can't stop all newbie from getting scammed. What we're sharing is a precaution to them but even though we are aware of scams running in cryptocurrency, once we also got scammed. Since they are newbies, not everyone can easily understand everything they'll be reading here in the forum. That's why experience is the best teacher. Once they have experienced getting scammed, it makes them more careful dealing with their money.
I know we can learn a lot here in the forum but sometimes scammers are really being tricky that you'll end up believing because it looks real.

It doesn't really matter how many warnings there are. If you believe anything you read online, and trust random people chances are you will get scammed one day. Use your common sense and logic. Don't send money to people you don't know. Don't invest in projects you haven't researched and especially those promising fixed revenues. Don't save/share/keep your private keys online or accessible over your computer/mobile.

To be honest B&H and Scam accusation section is serving those purposes but not all the crypto users are using bitcointalk nor they are actually reading anything or everything even if they have an account here.So forum is the place of information about cryptos so only those interested can do enough research and find them.

Scammers are stupid. Only victims are more stupid than scammers or very greedy and can not control their actions. At the ends, they get scammed.

I think scammers are not stupid It is their new strategy to trap people They are trying to improve with the current era We should all be vigilant. We should recognize that there are various threads against scammers, especially since newcomers are more likely to be behind.

I really don't like to give them credit, but some scammers are really really clever as hell. Though obviously some of us here that's more well-informed and educated know better concerning these scams, some of the scammers definitely has some creative ways of deceiving people. As much as I wouldn't like to admit, even if I find myself really knowledgeable concerning scams, I wouldn't be surprised if I get phished while drunk lmao.

What do you mean by "B&H'?

And thanks that is a big thread about scam accusations, very useful and it keeps expanding. a good source for those willing to invest, so they can double-check before trying to invest in those fishy projects.

^^ hits the nail on the head. this issue really boils down to human nature and gullibility.

get scammed a couple times, and you will develop an inherent skepticism towards con men and would be scammers. unfortunately, this sense can't be learned by reading a couple warnings. it's something most noobs will unfortunately need to learn through experience.

If you don't get scammed in real life, you won't get scammed easily in crypto, since most of the scams are pretty obvious. And as for more complex scams, there's actually very little warnings about them, new ICOs, IEOs and shitcoins popup every day, but many people, especially newbies, still want to give them the benefit of the doubt, and its unpopular to openly say that all crypto offerings are scams.

Sure. But unfortunately not a lot of people are fond of actually reading and doing research. Heck, even Bitcointalk members still gets scammed and hacked. The reason why we see a lot of posts concerning scams and security in general, is to hopefully decrease the number of people that get scammed/hacked.

Maybe if there was some sort of official FAQ that was placed in some visible place and linked to a page where newbies would get all information about scams, hacks, private key managements, etc. - maybe this would be somewhat effective.

All the necessary information is out there countless times over but the scammed either don't seek it out or refuse to believe it.

I've lost count of the number of times people have come on here and been told the cause of their erection was a scam but you could tell they were looking for permission rather than advice and ignored what was said anyway.

Self delusion caused by greed is infinitely more powerful than pacing yourself and submitting to common sense. Everyone thinks the lie they're being fed is that one life changing opportunity that no one else has dared to explore.

When people still fall for Elon Musk 'giveaways' I find myself lacking in sympathy these days. Inform yourself or eat the consequences.

Frankly, loss is inevitable and there's no way we can prevent these fraudulent scheme to spread across the forum hence, if you are going to gain some information here you should first verify it by your own research just to be sure. Moreover, being scammed is commonly occurrence for newbies, they must experience it in order to gain knowledge out from it.

I really like that approach, so I made a topic for our local section last month: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5215182.0

Thankfully our local moderator @Mr. Big granted my request of having the topic pinned.
