I am not sure whether this is the right place to ask this question. Mods please move it to right topics.

Since corona virus has been declared as an medical emergency. why not we as a community donate some of our Bitcoins to help those suffering.

I need some good individuals who can help me to help those needy.

What I plan is very simple:

1 we collect Bitcoin.
2 we should know someone who can convert Bitcoin tol local fiat.
3 we then ask them to transfer that money to the needy or send foods and other necessary items to them.

If you think you can help me in this cause then do DM me.

Let's do it.

What do you think?

Please do not reply for the sake of signature campaign. I am serious and want to help those who need help.

Since every body here is in the opinion that China does not need any help, I think we should then start concentrating on poor countries like Africa. If any one knows how to contribute to the cause either through fiat or crypto please do share it here.

Why do i need to donate in bitcoin when i can help them using fiat.here in my country there are confirmed case of Corona virus and many is under observation. So i can manage to help them by helping their family is my small little way.

Actually me and my office mates are now planning to make fundraising for the victims and incoming victim's
I think it is a very good step and you might be able to combine the collection of your funds to several institutions so that it can multiply and can be directly channeled to China or if you have channels or friends in China can use the cryptocurrency method as one of the shipments funds that have been collected.
Just like what I've said mate we will be focusing to those victims in our own country because the problem is not only in china but worldwide that even United states of America  is affected.

We will be focusing on our local victims and also their family because they also need help not only those in social media that looking for sympathy but not doing anything to help victim's.

Many will likely help if they can see solid proofs that their donations are used for people in need and not used for something else. Wish there are ways I could track my donations, For example: from when I send my donate> To when it gets to your organization> To Hospital> To doctor> Patients needs.

But if this turns out to be safe I will give the little I have

I have the same thing in mind. China most likely doesn't need extra funds. What's more needed is more stock of N95 respirator masks in poorer countries that are somewhat affected by nCoV like the Philippines.
The masks aren't really a necessity. It's a nice plus, but you could pretty much be unaffected by the virus if you properly disinfect your hands every time you eat. The mask is much more needed by those that are infected. Those that are healthy don't need to prioritize the mask.

Sure you could definitely say that. Not sure about you though, but while the people's fear of the corona virus might be overblown, I'd rather be safe than sorry. Using a face mask in public is a very small price to pay for an added layer of protection regardless how effective/ineffective it is.

I strongly agree with you in regard of using the face mask, that's at least adding extra layer of protection, but base on the research on how it is being transmitted from one person to another, is through a tiny droplets of saliva coming from an infected person that sneezes or cough. When this saliva travels through air or touched to any surface and gets a direct contact to another person, then It might cause the other person to be infected by the virus.
But, then again, any necessary steps that makes you comfortable to secure yourself from being infected is all good, and that includes disinfecting yourself everytime and wearing of face mask.

I think this isn't possible. China can definitely provide for its people considering they were able to build a hospital to treat patients affected by nCov. Based on what I am seeing online since yesterday, so far there are people now that are healed. Those who died are those with existing conditions.
It is a virus so what would you expect. There are lot of ways in order to help and also, the problem starts to spread to different countries. In China, patients are being treated but since it is viral, it also causes panic and if yoj would watch news, there's still a shortage in terms of other medical services. It is possible to help, maybe not direct crypto, but fiat could be used or by other means. In my country, there is a shortage of face masks, since many people panicked about this issue. Some people hoard and make use of it to make money, which shows greed.

Corona Virus is not that big of a problem , you should understand that if you really wanna help , I think it would be better to donate for the Australian bush fire trust me when you think impact wise it's more of a problem there .
The Virus is a new thing that we do not have any vaccination or any passive dose against therefore the people are scared .
But we should be able to understand that right now the government are working against it and they will develop antivax.

The  Coronavirus is here to stay, and was obviously created as part of the global eugenics programmes declared by the likes of Bill Gates, John Bolton and Hilary Clinton. Even if you were to donate all of the Bitcoins in existence, it is unlikely to be enough. It would be far better to create a trust to research the long term effects of vaccination ( over 10 years), and the damage done to immune systems. More people have dies as a result of influenza, and it would be interesting to see the percentage of those who are unvaccinated. I thnk the results would shock those who blindly push vaccination as "health care".

My understanding is that people with a healthy, naturally built immune system are not at risk from the coronavirus, and may not even show any symptoms if they contract it, although they will still be able to pass it on.

the impact is not that big they just make it looks like that with all of that headlines

Well.. you can't say like that, because the virus is having a huge impact in China. Almost 50 million people are in lockdown, in cities such as Wuhan, Xiaogan and Wenzhou. The total economic loss til now is expected at somewhere in the vicinity of $150 billion, which can increase significantly in case the outbreak is not contained. The number of infected people are increasing at a rate of almost 3,000 per day and the disease is spreading to previously uninfected areas with each passing day. Western media also believes that China may be under-reporting the number of cases and deaths.

Under these circumstances, how can you say that the impact is not big?

All affected nations are working to find solutions in how this virus will be cured or how their hospital will able to hold and not to allowed this problem
to spread out. Donations will help though like what you have said that there are much wider concern from other issues that being raised and looking
to help those people are really needed.

For now they focus is too get the cure for this virus and this is also why we didn’t any donations from big countries but of course they also help to find the cure and WHO are doing their best for us to survive on this trials. We are all on risk honestly, and we can’t donate the money for now because of the locked down, they are rich country they will survive but if its really needed, then I’m willing to donate.

Let's not forget that all this thing about the virus is something that the corporations and elite are creating on purpose to profit from people's fear, so they create the virus and they create the cure, it is round business, people need to wake up and see what is behind all this drama.

The cure is what they needed other than money we can donate to them.
Even we can donate money as long as the virus is still there hey will need more donations from others the problem is the virus if the virus gone all other problem will be resolve . Hopefully some country will have that cure so this problem will be ended very soon.

Money for what?
There is no starvation happening in China, but just a spreading of virus there and no money can help with that. It could help for research of vaccine but it is said that it might take within or more than a year before one would be created. I don't think that money could speed the progress of making a cure.
(Reference: https://www.businessinsider.com/wuhan-coronavirus-vaccine-could-take-years-timeline-and-cost-2020-2)
Important thing for now is to donate mask to the people there for protection, as what others mentioned here.

China is one of the richest country today and I beleive they do not need money for donations, what they need is medical staff volunteers and a huge supply of materials use to prevent the spread of virus like face mask and the most important what they really need is vaccine which until this time no cure for ncov-2019.

It is a new strain and therefore it is going to take some time to create a vaccine. It may take anywhere from a few months to a couple of years. I heard that facial masks are in short supply and donating some medical equipment including masks will be a great way to help the Chinese. But there is very little that can be done on our part, since the virus is extremely contagious and spreads through air. The only way to stop it is by enforcing lockdowns and quarantines. And it is up to the Chinese government to do that.

Are you serious about this one? Almost all the countries already feel the threat of this virus and it will increase more if we can’t still find the cure, the Media might exaggerated the news but the death rate is really alarming. China might not need the money, especially our donation because we all know that they are rich in resources and money but still if we can help them do so, my prayers to all the individuals who are suffering now because of the virus.

To make a donation campaign like this you have to be an established entity with a proven record. You just cannot randomly start your own, and expect the money to actually reach its intended destination.

If OP collects money, who is going to ensure it reaches China? And the entirety of it? Sure the Chinese government probably accepts donations, and such donations probably wouldn't even be used for the virus and there is no way you can even audit that. Some organizations send things instead (such as masks) but again they will go to the government and then they will decide who gets them and who don't, and what quantity.

This is a big problem with raising money for causes. Or are you going to aid big pharma develop a vaccine?

The Chinese companies are taking the chance to improve their relations with the government, don't think the likes of Binance are suddenly humanitarian. Yes its nice of them, maybe they get some tax exemption later. Lets just hope some of their money actually reaches victims, but no one can truly audit that, people can only hope.

I think the best thing you could do is in fact help develop a vaccine funding those efforts to something local to you (that you can verify), or ask one of the world renown non gov humanitarian organizations to see if they are taking bitcoin donations.

Something similar happened before with the Amazon fires, people here wanted to "give money" but didn't stop to think what that money was doing (if anything). Indeed Brazil did not stop their century old deforestation policy ("developing").

Please when you feel the urge to donate your money, be smart as if you were doing an investment. Perhaps doing an actual investment in something that might benefit the intended cause may actually be better.

I believe that above the financial assistance, China, needs numerous medical professional and staff in order to provide adequate services to all the nCov carriers. If there will be a way to convince medical practitioners especially those who are very capable of contributing in making solution to this outbreak it should be done right now. I think financial assistance is an enticing motivator but security assurance of their own welfare would be their priority. If we pursue crowdfunding to save China's health care, how can we make sure that these donations would be on the hands of the chosen receiver?

LOL... do you really think that users like me would be willing to donate our coins, if some random user starts a donation page? I have never donated to any individual whom I can't personally verify. I have donated to government agencies and I have done the same for private organizations and individuals who are trusted across the globe.

In case China wants our help, then they should allow the government agencies to accept donations in Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies (which is not possible as of now, since BTC can't be used for making payments within China). I would be more than willing to donate, in case China retracts some of its anti-Bitcoin laws and regulations.

There are problems that stick when we put BTCs in the process of donating to the patients who have corona virus.

First, the government of China has the necessary funds of creating hospitals and providing equipments needed in order to treat the virus. Second, even if we donate some BTCs to the ones affected, they would not be able to use it due to being isolated and contaminated. Third, it is better if we donate some of our BTCs to countries who are underdeveloped (e.g. countries in Africa, etc.) and lastly, better armed yourselves with the necessary funds before donating! The virus can quickly spread as it slowly becomes an epidemic to the world.

I appreciate the thought of OP but it would be better if we let the government exercise its power in treating the virus.

Not to be rude. But I don't think China or any other country need our bitcoin for Corona virus. China was able to build a huge hospital for Corona virus patients in less than 2 weeks(That's actually incredible). China is also one of the richest countries in the world, they practically lend other countries funds.
So there is no need for any contribution if you ask me.
