I would have to say my favorite and it is rather strange. Is the $5 Bill Murray.

My favorite money is Faroe Krona. I used to think that on a banknote of 50 Faroe’s crowns the tentacles of a kraken are depicted, but it turned out to be a ram’s horn. But for me it’s probably still favorite money ("my favorite money" sounds strange)

Currently one of the strangest Fiat currency is Venezuelan Bolivar. Can you imagine that it is cheaper to use banknotes than toilet paper. You can use banknotes to light the fireplace because they worth less than kindling. That's what hyperinflation do with fiat currency. Or Zimbabwe dollars: Thats 100 000 000 000 000 $ bill. You have to be a millionaire to buy a chewing gum i guess.

Well, the new 150 Rs note of the Indian government. It was released as a joke I guess or something, but yeah, I mean, who actually issues a 150 note when one can just issue 100 and 50 notes lol. Seriously, fiat currencies are kinda fraud in their own way.

Yeah, it is hard to believe but it's happened before--I remember reading stories of stuff like this happening in Weimar Republic Germany (if I have the terminology correct). Obviously this is one of the great things about bitcoin, that it's a currency that can't be hyperinflated. The only problem that comes to my mind is that while bitcoin's supply is limited, the total supply of all cryptocurrencies has the potential to become basically unlimited. I'm not sure that's much of a problem since most new coins don't gain any real popularity, but still. As far as OP's topic goes, there's a country that produces paper money with a vertical orientation and I can't remember which country it is. I saw pictures of the notes and they looked pretty cool. But honestly, all I ever see is US dollars so pretty much every foreign currency looks really cool to me. I remember being fascinated with the paper money when I went to Canada as a kid.

I think that you are referring to German mark and what happened to it after WW1. Here is a chart for all. If you get your salary in 22 Oct 1923 after 2 weeks in 05 Nov 1923 it was worth 1/10. 2 weeks to turn full month salary into 1 family dinner in restaurant. Obviously this is one of the great things about bitcoin, that it's a currency that can't be hyperinflated. Yes. Hyperinflation for bitcoin is impossible but... I try to show in this thread that bitcoin supply may not be limited to 21 milions due to "Money creation system". I'm interested in your opinion about that.

A couple of years ago I read that a few George Best's images (one of the best football players of all times) were used in the £5 bankote in Ireland: I find it strange because, for starters, it is the face of a football player, I mean, you always see politicians, buildings, historic/cultural stuff, etc, on banknotes. Plus, not even legendary football players like Pele, Maradona, Cruyff, were honoured in this way (someone correct me if i'm wrong). Even if the notes were limited edition, it goes to show just how passionate Northern Ireland is when it comes to football. But if that isn't weird, the check out these old banknotes from Finland with a bunch of people naked: https://imgur.com/a/3zh1uzdYou have to wonder just what the hell were those bankers thinking when they made these??

Indonesian Dollars, I didn't see the look as strange but their value is too low compared to US dollars, one USD it somewhere near 13K Indonesian dollars.I have some friends in my college days from that country from where I realized about their fiat value more precisely when I found few thousand dollars in my friend's wallet and I thought he is too rich to hold few thousands for his personal spendings then he said its not same as USD we have to spend few thousand dollars to buy a coffee there.

I am from Africa and the strangest currency I have seen is Zimbabwe dollar. Apart from the look and size of the country like plantain leave . The value is worthless. In up till today, I'm still wondering what could have make the price of the dollar to be so low. Some time I wonder how difficult it will be when you want to buy a brand new car with Zimbabwe dollars. You will have to good with brief cases full of Zimbabwe dollars . That will be funny. Anyway, it might help reduce money laundering.

The official currency of indonesia should be IDR but not indonesia dollars so this is first time to me know indonesia dollars from you and indonesian people calling their currency as Rupiah and for people outside indonesia calling it IDR and indeed compare to dollar then the currency is very cheap but i don't think it's the cheapest currencies so far because i had seen other currencies have low value compare to dollar such as Zimbabwe or Venezuela petro

This isn't Bill Murray. This is Lincoln.Do you see the small sign under his image? Every unknown fiat currency, which I see for the first time is a little bit weird to me.I'm only using my national currency+euro,so third world fiat currencies with their weird images look really strange. When I was a kid,I saw banknotes of 1000 Turkish lira and 1000 Romanian lea (their value is less than 1 euro,AFAIK). That was weird.

In Vietnam, all bills have a picture of President HO CHI MINH on the back of the bill and the front is a place of the country of Vietnam. And the largest face value of the bill is 500,000 Dong. This bill is equivalent to $ 23

Or Zimbabwe dollars: Thats 100 000 000 000 000 $ bill. You have to be a millionaire to buy a chewing gum i guess. I have one of those hanging on my wall. I bought it on Ebay a few years ago. Just a memento of how it can happen ("slow at sstart, then all of a sudden" se DM graph above) to have BTCUSD in the millions. Every true bitcoiner should have one of those.

I don't know if it's just me but I find Japanese yen to be strange. Its value is small that when you converted USD to yen you will have a thick amount of paper cash making you rich. But I've heard the cost of living there is really expensive and makes me wonder how much paper money does a local have. Someday I would like to visit that country to learn more about their culture.

Zimbabwe used to be one of the richest countries in Southern Africa region.
