This is a hard one if we are only talking about merits earned and their trust score Rikafip will be winning this award with a mile ahead against geophphreigh, zasad@, and efialtis. zasad@ even though has a higher merit compared to Rikafip he is a more trusted member and even if geophphreigh is more trusted Rikafip has more merits compared to him so really Rikafip has the advantage in both of them. This might be two of the biggest factors that would say who will be winning this award. So @OP and for any other members reading this, aside from merits and trust scores what other factors should we try to consider in order to know if other newbie members here can stand a chance against Rikafip?

Thank you @Harlot for the nice words and those who nominated me, but in my opinion @Ratimov is the one who is the most deserving member in this contest, and the one i gave my vote ( i only used one).
There are few other candidates that i recognise like @efialtis, @zasada and @PopoJeff that are without doubt quality members but in my opinion @Ratimov really stands out. In this short period of time as a member of this forum, he managed to achieve few feats: -reaching DT1 meaning he is trusted by other members of this forum -crazy amount of 12500+ reported posts, that shows dedication and incredible amount of time invested in this forum -800+ merits in 8 months means quality
All in all, for me there is no doubt, and congrats to rest of the nominees.

Hopefully this post and the next one will make the decision a little easier: Ratimov and zasad@ are each trusted by eigh plus eachother. Taking those eight away, Ratimov has nine people trusting him, zasad@ two, geophphreigh two also, Rikafip five people trust him, and finally efialtis also on two, so my top three are Ratimov, zasad@ and Rikafip.
Turning to who DIStrusts them: ~geophphreigh's judgement is Distrusted by: - ~efialtis's judgement is Distrusted by: - Ratimov and zasad@ are both distrusted by the same three people, so Ratimov is distrusted by eleven, while zasad@ and Rikafilp one a piece.
To me Ratimov is a clear stand out - you can't get ahead in life without upsetting a few people along the way. I'm leaning towards Rikaflip because he has five trust Vs one distrust (discounting those who distrust both Ratimov etc in my analysis above). Also unlike the other two stand outs, Rikafikp isn't playing the trust game:
My two votes therefore are Ratimov and Rikaflip.Congratulations to all the others nominated.

That's who I voted for, as he's the only newbie I'm even remotely familiar with. I'm not sure I've even seen any posts from the rest of the nominees, though it's entirely possible I've forgotten since I read so many posts here. And yeah, I'm being lazy and not poring through post histories and all that, but this isn't exactly the contest of the century we're talking about. Who knows where any of these newbies will be in a year or two.

I'm not sure if it's the done thing to outright ask the approx. 3 DT1 regulars who ~exclude some of the contestants why they do so, or to ask them to pm me with the expectation of confidentiality about it if they don't want to colour the voting here.

Voted for Ratimov. Just simple reason: look at "the number of his merits and total posts". He has the highest merits and total posts among nominees right now. It indicates he has done more contributions to the forum.

Voted for Rikafip since I know his active on the Scam accusations and Reputation board and for the second option I rooted for zasad@ because he has the second merit received from all the nominees, not that I know of him but he's quite the popular one because of the merit he received, I'm just rooting he'll be selected.

I expected their to be a lot larger list compiled of valuable 2019 newbies than this but I guess they are more rare than some of us thought.. I "nominated" PopoJeff because it's the only new account I could think of that seemed like a legit user off the top of my head.. I didn't look into merit data or anything like that..
It is quite outstanding what the top nominees here, Ratimov and Rikafip, have been able to accomplish here in only around 6 months.. Has anyone asked them if they have ever posted on Bitcointalk prior to 2019?
I'll cast my vote eventually..

[Trust lists]
I'm not convinced their trust lists are all that relevant to how they have contributed to the forum, this would be more relevant to a most trusted newbie of the year award. This may help a bit (or not):
This helps thanks, highlighting their merited posts helps to understand what they have contributed to the forum. I voted for Ratimov, I like the speculative charts posted and received the the most merit. Fair play.

I have a creepy mod stalking me and deleting my posts, this is yet another one: A reply of yours, quoted below, was deleted by a Bitcoin Forum moderator. Posts are most frequently deleted because they are off-topic, though they can also be deleted for other reasons. In the future, please avoid posting things that need to be deleted. [mod note: post broke either rule 21 or 32 from https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=703657.0 and thus has been merged with the first one in a row]

I only see one DT1 member excluding one of the contestants, unless I missed something. I think I understand the reasoning behind that one, but I'll let the parties involved address it if they wish.
I expected their to be a lot larger list compiled of valuable 2019 newbies than this but I guess they are more rare than some of us thought.. I expected more nominations also, and I spent a fair amount of time looking. It's slow going when I have to translate posts and find that they are still difficult to comprehend. I was hoping that more of the senior members from the local boards would participate.
I have a creepy mod stalking me and deleting my posts, this is yet another one: It looks like the deleted post was merged with the one proceeding it. But that doesn't mean you r avatars are not being stalked.

I have voted for efialtis because I know him best from all nominees. He is a great guy, and I'm surprised that he joined just in 2019, I thought he was here for longer time already. And seems that it didn't long time to build his account. He active in Deutsch and gambling boards, and providing translations and campaign management services.

Woah I didn't know that there's a kinda POLL like here, well this serves as an inspiration and motivation to other newbies to be more active and to continue contributing quality posts. My selection starts with elimination. Well, just by looking and comparing their current stats (Merits earned and trust scores): geophphreigh won the trust with 6 of green while Ratimov gaining the highest merit so far with 5 green trust. So I'm casting my vote for Ratimov... Still, congratulations to all nominees...

I had that feeling too. In a poll, one would need for the voters to be rather diverse in nature. That is part of the key to generating meaningful results, and avoid skewed results based on largish group affinities and such (*). Maybe I’m missing something. (*) For example, taking a leap in context here, a recent survey referenced on my local board stated that 7,5 M people in Spain own Bitcoin (16% of the total population). That, to me, seems overly cooked, the questionable base being that the survey was done to ING banking clients, who obviously have a technological skew (as opposed to having done the survey in a grocery store).
