Scammers use public charging spots for scamming? That's certainly a new one. I guess soon we'll be no where safe. Aerial malware attacks, even when offline will be the new trend!!

Scammers or hackers do that.
There are youtube videos that shows how they can easily do this using public spots or connections like WiFi.

He is definitely referring to people in countries where they have a shortage of electricity supply. Most times, people just go out in the public to get their sets charged. If you do not stay with your set, a scammer might take your phone and export some important information that will make him gain access to your fund, most especially your crypto fund in this case.
Since not so many people do this, I think, we might not see lots of cases on that. However, it should not be overlooked.
Another major means could be through mishandling or being careless with important documents.
there are some people that store or write important info in their dairy, in case their set gets lost. Such a diary should be well kept.

Ya, it would make more sense if someone wireless hacked your phone while it was charging or by physical method when you are not around. But doing it just by the charging plug seems impossible, especially when you are caring your own charger.

There are various methods used by scamers, including filling out forms to claim high prizes, bot telegram and many more methods used by fraudsters to deceive their victims. and it's important for everyone to think intelligently that there is no fast way to get rich overnight. in any industry requires a process, including this cryptoqurrency industry.

If somebody will actually take their phones.
Where's the actual owner? is she/he isn't on the phone while charging? if I'm doing that, I wouldn't allow someone even just to touch it.

People really have to be careful and mind the way they give out information, so that they won’t fall for all these things.

This is the same thing that made delete an email I was formerly using for work; I used the email on a fake site, won’t blame myself , because I was still new to all these online things, and after I used my email there, the site gave out my email to other Fake sites that are owned by scammers and even gave out some of my information and I had to delete the email and stop making use of it. They will keep sending you some dumb messages and keeping waiting for you to click their links.

This is a problem faced by everyone who has previously engaged in bounties and airdrops. As part of these programs, we were forced to leave our email address. Now fraudsters have created huge databases of such addresses for sending spam messages and various types of fraudulent links.

For bounty campaign, it's usual that we see scammers filling the form, but its the job of the bounty manager to ensure that those who are legitimately participating the bounty will get the reward and those who are not will be eliminated, if scammers will be able to claim reward on this, then we can say that the bounty manager is incapable of doing his job.

I read that there is a wifi device that can somehow mask itself to the public wifi that people connect. Since wifi connection these days requires logging in from your device to limit your wifi usage, it's possible that they're gonna trap people to phishing sites so I think that people should be wary of the public wifi they're connecting at.
Phones are far more vulnerable to hacks, so better not hold a lot of funds in your mobile wallet.

Besides the methods you described above, i think the most common method used by scammer is
by contacting you through telegram chat, instructing you to transfer some amount of coins to their wallet.
I dont know, scammers seems not getting tired for doing that.

That is why most people are skeptical about platforms or anything that requires KYC not unless it is a trusted platform or website. The risk of having your personal information in the hands of other people will put you in great risk. I have a friend in Facebook who had been a victim of this kind of scam, her identity is stolen and used to scam other people without her knowledge.

Here are few methods that online scammers use to scam people till date due to lack of not knowing

1. KYC Fraud

Behold, Any body can just contact you claiming they are bank executives or customer service officer from your bank and asked you to share details to complete KYC, they will actually first tell you that your account isn't safe anymore, this have proven to works on innocent people most times.

2. Fake SMS

This days online shopping can be very dangerous if you don't go through right channels, secondly you can get fake SMS about any online shopping cash back and you will be asked to share your credentials, ATM card details etc

3. Public Charging Spots

Abstain from charging your phones from any public charging spots, scammers can use some kind of chips that installs malware or spyware's on your phone while charging, this chips copies your sensitive data and inject the malware, automatically they have access to your phone, you can lose private keys this way, even every single  passwords on your phone. instead you are better off with power banks.

Most people knows about coins this days and believe me it doesn't have to be online alone before losing your private key or recovery seed, you can easily lose them offline as well

KYC is the one that I really hate but we don't have other options especially if we are going to cash out a good amount of profit in exchange to our credentials. KYC are very rampant in centralized exchange and the worst is, many of that exchange were hacked and lost a huge amount of money so how can we assure that our KYC credentials are secure.

Aside from that, phishing is also very rampant to scam the other people and most of the victims are newbies so I hope that this information's will reach to the newbies and other crypto users who have no idea about it so they can avoid it in the future.

There are so many methods of people that scam others that we can't really find a way to stop all of it, scammers will find a new way whenever they are faced with a good method that could stop them. Hence we are just forced to teach the regular people how to not get scammed which is actually a lot better method.

Figure out all the ways scammers do their scamming and prepare some sort of document that explains it and how they do it, show to people who are newer and may not know all the methods and you are basically saving one more victim before it happens. Otherwise if we let everyone learn it the hard way, scammers are going to find new gullible people to scam and continue to steal money from people, even if it means their old victims learn it, there will be new ones anyway.

Now every new project KYC is mandatory for all investors and bounty hunters this is another big threat to all. If I was the controller I must implement the rule" when a project succeeds and go live in go market then ask for KYC otherwise no KYC by Investor and bounty hunters" and you all know weel 80% project failed but they collected all your precious data.

Yes, it is true that KYC is very valuable data and it will be very dangerous if investors and hunters give it to unclear projects, but at this time not all projects require KYC for hunters, but it is required for all investors.

well scammers have many ways to do their frauds and they just steal our money easily like it has been just like nothing difficult for them.

The amateur scammer will always try the basic method to scam others but when it comes to the professional scammer and that will use a very difficult method to choose the complicated way to scam others. just try to tell you about DNS hijacked that happened with some dex in the past

The current KYC method is wrong. The promoters want others to send the scanned copy of the passport or the national ID card. These are very confidential documents and you should not share them with unknown people. At the most, they can ask for telephone verification. I understand that many of the hunters own 2 or 3 mobile phone connections, but if this is made mandatory, then 99% of the instances of scamming can be done away with.

In my own point of view, one of the method that scammers used to trick other people is by making false promises, so that they can easily get the person's trust that they will promise you that you can benefit from them if you will invest your money to their project. It is the reason why i have trust issues when in terms of investing money because i could get scam and only spend my money for nothing.

Yes, there is and people who are able to do it can easily get their victims connected to that network.
If somebody isn't aware of that and loves to connect publicly, too bad for him. Most possible victims are the not techie people but it should be a safety precaution that never ever connect to free public networks.

I know the first two and they are very prevalent among bounty hunting but about public charging spot, this is new to many of us, I never used a charging spot because I always carry a power bank but people especially those who install their seed and private key on their phone should be aware of this
