The way Ms. Pelosi tore up SOTU simply points at her immediate reaction to Trump ignoring her handshake (IMHO). It simply shows how fragile the Dem ego is; maybe they nvr expected Trump to win in the first place and then continue to be in office with a second term staring at them in the face with their own stupid acts. I think they'll lose with a better margin despite the sevaral shortcomings on part of Trump Admin. In your opinion does it bode well for the impending elections?

Way too many misleading and false statements in his speech though, and with a speech like this they were all intentional/premeditated. I assume this is the statement she was trying to make.

I did watched the SOTU address earlier and President Trump delivered a very optimistic narrative on America's achievement to date that I can't help but assume that majority of Americans are glad on the current administration's achievements and I feel the current political opposition might feel very insecure about these developments!
With it, I feel disappointed on how the Speaker of the House tore up that SOTU narrative which could put her in a bad light together with her party that they can't help but manifest an attitude of sour grapes over what was America's positive achievements right now to the point that she acted very unethical in that way!
Now this ill feeling will further manifest especially when President Trump final gets an impeachment acquittal in the coming days. How I wish those political parties would eventually unite and set aside any political agendas for the greater good of all the American people! Imho.

It's actually tomorrow. I'm thinking we're probably going to see some articles of impeachment get ripped up.

Nancy Pelosi is insufferable and it's hilarious to see liberals jump at her defense. This was a trashy move by Pelosi and no one should be defending her on it. If you're a democrat that's upset with the way Trump has handled things, vote him out. Don't support this petty behavior on a national stage where formality is expected with proper decorum.

But I hope the senate will act in a respectable and civilized manner and avoid any of those publicity stunts done by Speaker Pelosi which could further the political divide in which people's interests will become jeopardized if much needed laws will be sidelined due to this political deviation which is becoming more personal among U.S. politicians.

she souldnt have done that, bad look for america to the rest of the world. the outrage from trump and all his supporters is fake though they just like to make fun of the democrats whenever possible. if trump ripped up pelosis speech in the house, or did something similar, this thread would be about how pelosi deserved it and good for trump for doing that.

"Well if it had been B that killed all those cute puppies instead of A, everyone would be outraged at B instead of A." That's just a plain ridiculous argument you are making.

If we could have observed that incident in an impartial point of view, then our opinion won't have any double standards which is ideally what politicians would be doing regardless of political affiliations yet in reality, it is rarely seen in today's politics. Imho.

Imho. I think Trump may often come across as blunt enough to be considered rude, arguably he's used those personality traits to our advantage say in dealing with foreign leaders. And just plain winning over and over and over, you know that's very rude. It's inconsiderate, and hurts a lot of peoples' feelings. Other people would like to win too. I'll be the first to criticize him, though, if he rips up some Papers of Pelosi.

it's very likely that this was no more than staged reality show-esque dramatics, and not any form of grandstanding. Televising this type of behavior is like throwing red meat to the more tribal oriented people living under the US regime, both Trump supporters and the anti-Trump team simultaneously. Pelosi is experienced enough to know that this is guaranteed to ratchet up the tension just that little bit more, and we ought to ask ourselves: to what end?

I guess it doesn't matter if its really premeditated or not but the ruling party nevertheless expects some kind of unnecessary and shameful acts from the opposition party in order to maximize media mileage and not minding any repercussions resulting to that action and it could definitely backfire on the whole opposition. If I'm not mistaken, this act of the House Speaker was unprecedented ,which lacks proper decorum and statemanship not expected from these honored and distinguished individuals.

That's correct. For example, a person's title is related to their OFFICE. We may say, "Your honor," when the individual is a completely uthonorable person. We show respect to the office. Similarly, the SOU is a formal occasion, and the occasion deserves respect.

Anger is normal but acting like an animal in front of live TV is not.

Good point. I apologize for insulting the honorable people of Greenland by suggesting we relocate our undesirables there. No problem; as you note, they can be herded into their own cities. But maybe some of those can be walled off, and sold to North Korea or Cuba?
