Justin really knows how to make someone's heart aoft and close to home. Warren Buffett has been pretty stiff about bitcoin and cryptocurrencies stating that they don't bring anything new in the table. And here goes Sun together with the permabull Charlie Lee, bringing forth the table and laying down facts and god knows whatever things they discussed on that dinner. Pretty sure it's about investment matters and private dealings and not necessarily about bitcoin and crypto but who knows?

Not always easy to refuse a gift, it's can also be considered impolite and offending to do it.

In fact, he repeated at that dinner that Bitcoin was useless and the blockchain technology isn't used correctly. I've read both articles posted and none is talking about a gift to WB. Did I miss something?

Another thing to add, Sun was invited upon winning an auction on eBay not after receiving an official invitation, that makes a difference.

Quote
...During the dinner, Buffett reportedly said that he didn't see any value in bitcoin ...

...Sun won a charity auction on eBay to have lunch with Warren Buffett last June...

If the best we can offer is a con artist such as Justin Sun and a fairly ok dude such as Charlie Lee, then it's hard to think of a reason for Warren Buffett to like anything about this space.

Nothing fundamentally interesting about Tron. It's just one of the many knockoffs that we will see come and go in the forthcoming years. No large scale institution wants anything to do with such coin. I'm pretty sure that Warren Buffett felt like he wasted his time with those crypto hippies. The only thing of value Warren Buffett ended up with is the money Justin Sun paid for the charity lunch.

A short list of claims Justin Sun made as to why he believes tron is better than ethereum.

#1  "Tron is 80 times faster than ethereum." Source: https://twitter.com/justinsuntron/status/1022950077638172672

#2  "Bittorrent is an integral component of tron." Source: https://twitter.com/BitTorrent/status/1021629735258841088

#3

Some might find this interesting. I haven't seen these claims discussed much, if at all.   Smiley

I can't wait for someone to create an article and summarize this dinner. Justin said that he'll discuss what was being talked during the dinner.

Didnt think buffett would ever accept bitcoin since he has been vocal about it in the past. But with coupling it with tron I think he couldnt refuse it since it was a gift during the chinese new year. The shilling of cryptos meeting aka.paid dinner was held on January 26th but the news just released a couple of hours ago via Sun's twitter account with photos of those who were in attendance. The other one I noticed was Charlie Lee the second to the left.

I dont think warren is going to do anything with it ypu can probably consider that lost btc and tron.  Buffett has repeatedly stated he does not like crypto and I dont expect that to change just based on a random gift from justin sun.  He probably accepted it as a gesture it would be rude to not accept something in those situations.

look at justin, even though he is young but he has talent and can trigger wealthy investors like warren buffett is a very difficult thing to do by others but justin can make him to discuss about the development of cryptocurrency and justin also has a Tron platform that which can make the price of tron can be more expensive than the previous price because it gets support from warren buffett.

I'm very sure Warren Buffett. is a person who can give effect to everyone and even many investors who submit to him and follow what he suggests and hopefully he can really make the price tron to the moon.

Even famous people will change their mind when properly introduced to crypto. Though he has reservations when it comes to crypto, I guess he will change his stance once he learn the nature of it and how it feels to do some crypto transactions. The convenience alone will give him new perspective towards crypto. Let us see what will happen next. What his statement will be towards crypto this time?

So he think he can convert Buffet to invest in Cryptocurrency? I don't think so he cannot be bought by just a few millions this guy has a tons of it, if he wants to market his coin there are better ways but not a publicity like this that I doubt will yield results.

Shitcoin will always be a shitcoin. Tron is just a pump and dumps coin and I don't know why there are still people believing this Justin Sun. Money talks. That's how money is powerful for sure.
I hope they talk more about major cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin, Warren Buffet is smart enough for sure.

I am rapidly losing my respect for Justin Sun. I don't understand what did he achieved by gifting $4 million to Warren Buffet. He essentially gifted this huge amount, to some of the most rabid opponents of Bitcoin. Mr. Buffet is never going to refuse the free money. He will just take the coins and then dump them in the market to convert them to fiat. And after that, as usual he will resume his tirade against cryptocurrency.

He tries how to get bigger market with bitcoin and specially with his altcoin TRX, maybe when you looking many people lost much money for advertising did your mind why waste much money for ads, but its the most effective way how to promote bitcoin and altcoin to bigger investor and several months later his coin will be on the top price.

I can understand. But why Warren Buffet? Why not someone like Bill Gates or Richard Branson? Even Michael Bloomberg  or Elon Musk would have been a better choice. Buffet is known to be a fierce critic of Bitcoin and no amount of money from Sun is going to change that. As a proud Bitcoiner, it is hard for me to digest Justin Sun spending the money he earned from the TRX ICO on Warren Buffet.

Justin Sin gifted Buffet with BTC and tron?So he basically tried to bribe Warren Buffet. Grin
So this paid dinner was a way for Sin to pitch that TRON altcoin.I thought that he is going to talk about Bitcoin to Warren Buffet(and nothing else). That sneaky little Chinsese guy. Grin
I'm pretty sure this isn't going to end well and Buffet won't buy TRON or BTC,which might be good for the crypto world after all.We don't need more billionaires to turn into crypto whales and dictate the cryptocurrency prices.

Hmm, somehow Cheesy. And I think Justin is trying to put a spotlight on his coin by seating it beside the name of Warren Buffet. Well, I guess it works. I don't know if this will cause a significant hike on the price of tron but good news is good news afterall. You can't easily disregard its possible outcomes.

I agree. But you know what, the opposite could happen once he embrace crypto. Fiat enthusiasts might shift as well since one of their foundations already adopt crypto. In short, that would be the time of Fiat's fall down and the rise of Crypto *evil laugh Grin.

Very much possible! But I believe what Justin Sun did, can be termed as a great promotion of his own coin as well as bitcoin! Mr. Buffet was always a great critic of cryptos and we have seen him hurling negative comments about it in many public forums. Donating bitcoin and TRX to such a personality, is basically an attemp to associate his name with his least favorite things in life! It would clearly get media attention and also enjoys attentions from the similar kind of elite class investors.

It's a clever marketing strategy that Justin executed precisely and cleaverly!

I am also confused by the title written by the OP because Warren Buffet has become a very wealthy person why justin gave bitcoin and tron to him. has a good impact on tron prices and more and more investors and rich people will follow in Warren Buffett's lead to support Tron.

It would be very interesting to know what was at stake, maybe some information would someday appear. Moreover, Warren was very skeptical of cryptocurrencies, and his words are very important because of his authority as a competent investor. If he changes his mind, then this can give a very strong impetus.

Buffett is too old to understand technology but he knows how to run a company like Hathaway.  The conversation between the world's greatest investor and the owner of the world-famous Blockchain project will change the minds of a range of people who are active in the field of finance and technology.  The truth is that Economics and Technology have combined excellently.  I hope the Buffet will change its mind and soon invest in a Blockchain project or apply Blockchain in its business.
