Some mods have mod privileges in certain boards, such as Wallet software child-boards' mods, Bitcoin Wiki mods, ...etc.
Why not add more mod privileges to a lot of child-boards, especially in local boards where mods do not have experience in it. For example, Some mods may not be familiar with many topics about mining, trading, hardware, selling, Altcoin, and others.

They will not have many powers/permissions, but merely move and delete posts in these child-boards.

Unlike traditional banking where clients have only a few account numbers, with Bitcoin people can create an unlimited number of accounts (addresses). This can be used to easily track payments, and it improves anonymity.

If the forum still has patrollers then they can do this job.

Also posts that are off topic are meant to be reported by other members and can be dealt with by the moderators. If something is false and the mod doesn't know if it is false or not then it may be helpful to have someone who does but I don't know how this functions (it's likely if a member the mod knows for knowing stuff about a topic and being level headed reports it, that report will likely still get handled without the mod necessarily needing to understand it -especially if it's reported several times).

I think there are specific boards that some mod dont have power to at least exercise his power to move or delete if he has not familiar with the topic.

For example, someone from specific local board topic has been reported. I dont think some moderator from far section could interfere with that particular local board post. But what about those local boards without any Mod assigned to them? Who will check and help them clean up some spam and off topic post for them? I presume those mod with same language who can understand can exercise his power right?

I dont think some will always use Google translate just to check whether certain post is a must delete or move.

Global mod has the power to check all boards so they will moderate the boards if there is some reported posts from a section where there is no mod assigned. But what if that global mod don't understand that language will that report be unhandled forever??

If the forum still has patrollers then they can do this job.

I don’t know if this information is still correct, but AFAIK patrollers only has powers for newbies.

I am talking about mods with full powers over specific child boards Or tmods assign a part of his powers to some accounts over child boards.

. Currently there are 3 patrollers and 20 non-patroller local moderators..
I am not only talking about deleting spam, but sticky topics, moving it and other issues.

Some mods may not be familiar with many topics about mining, trading, hardware, selling, Altcoin, and others.
What kind of topics were you specifically thinking about? I mean, I don't know much about most altcoins (other than the fact that most of them are a scam), but I can still tell when a thread doesn't belong in that section or when someone is posting spam just for a bounty campaign. Does a mod really need to have an indepth knowledge about a lot of alts to be able to effectively moderate that section?

If something is false and the mod doesn't know if it is false or not then it may be helpful to have someone who does but I don't know how this functions
Given that scams aren't moderated, are mods often moderating inaccurate information? I've certainly seen tons of post with either inaccurate or outright false information in a variety of boards that don't get deleted. I've always felt that it's better to make a post correcting the mistake so other people can learn from the thread too.

Well adding more mods to Local boards probably wouldn't help unless they can speak the language. Some child boards probably could do with their own dedicated mods but there's 5 Globals/Admins that can also handle any reports and patrollers can pick up reports from any Newbies which tend to make the most errors or spam.

For example, Some mods may not be familiar with many topics about mining, trading, hardware, selling, Altcoin, and others.

I dont think some will always use Google translate just to check whether certain post is a must delete or move.

Globals and admins can handle any reports, but likely won't unless they fully understand the report/situation. Some things are cut and dry like ref or bot spam, but others you'll probably need knowledge of the language to fully understand the situation.

So why not recruit more mods based on each language  Huh If language is the key to their impact, we can find more mods based on their language and expertise. I believe that choosing the mod is not difficult for this forum  Cheesy

Well I'm not in charge of adding more mods and only theymos can do that, but I don't think local boards need more than one, possibly maybe two dedicated mods in some of the bigger locals or if their mod isn't terribly active. Local mods are usually only added to meet demand, so if there's a lot of reports being left in the queue or people start complaining about the lack of action then it's usually looked into but I don't really see any that are calling out for more right now but I don't exactly browse the local boards much so it could be a different story in certain ones.

I with this, as it keeps everything out in the open. Inappropriate post deletion can kill a discussion, and lead to the loss of members. It is much better to correct an incorrect opinion, and then the poster can learn from it.
