I have been wondering too, a few hours ago, I kept experiencing error in the page loading. I almost thought something was wrong either with my sim network or internet.
Thank you for the enlightenment.

Right, I somewhat figured something was happening. Seemingly it has been fixed. Was it an attack, server error?

I remember in 2017, this kind of attacks were common which made Theymos decide to opt for the Cloudfare protection. Now my question is, how are these attackers still able to bypass the current protection in place?

Problems? Some idiot has made it his private forum and blocks images and every idea he don't agree with.

LOL.  I think OP is at least a semi-troll, much as Kwuckduck was and their usernames are even similar.

Anyway, this sort of thing has happened many times in the past and it didn't even seem all that bad today.  I was getting an error for maybe a half hour or so, and then everything started working just fine.  And frankly, I don't see why anyone would need to make a thread about these DDoS attacks anymore, because they're going to keep happening and should be expected from time to time.

Well just as long as the DDos attack isn't coupled with a hacker compromising the Bitcointalk database like what happened in 2015, I guess it's just a mild nuisance.

First thought was well another one is gone, now its semi back to normal. We could maybe keep this as a unconventional repair hotline for the future.

This wouldn't be necessary since the admins already know when the site is down or still up and running that's why you'll see theymos posting about it. Also when BCT is having some down time it will be harder to create posts thus rendering this "repair hotline" completely useless because a lot of members including the admins will know it right away. Best thing to do in this kinds of situation is to just wait for everything to be normal again and don't panic about it since you are not the only one experiencing it.

I called satoshi but he didn't pick up. I hope he's ok.

I don't think he is. He does seem to be to trying some sort of get rich quick scheme with a half-assed ICO though and has been desperately creating threads mostly to try get people to work for him for free  Grin. Either way I think he's wasting his time with it.

Well I wouldn't panic at the site does go down from time to time but usually not for long, but Meta is kind of the 'unconventional repair hotline' for anything bitcointalk related.
