Man, so sad about Tua. He could be done permanently now. All to pick up a few lousy yards. Of course he should have slid forward on his butt, feet first instead of head first. Oops. Honestly can't blame him if he wants to retire. He was already having problems as the result of his previous concussions.
Honestly, I thought he should have retired after the last one. That weird motion with his arm was scary AF, and I guess it happened again on Thursday. I was barely watching the game at that point and didn't see the hit, and I didn't feel like seeing after hearing the horror in the announcers' voices. Tua is likely to suffer life long affects from those concussions, and I'm not sure he can survive a third one without becoming a vegetable.
What's the most obvious pick for this week? Baltimore over Las Vegas by 10 pts? I'm thinking that could be the one.
Those big spreads scare me unless it's to take the underdog to cover. However, there's way too much going against the Raiders for me to consider that with money on the line. First and foremost, we're talking about the Raiders. Second, West Coast teams tend to suck lemons in the Eastern time zone. Third, it's the Raiders. All that makes me think it's a good bet, but then I start thinking we're also talking about the Ravens. Do I trust the ravens to cover? That's a large spread, and I'm not sure I can trust the Ravens on that one. My sprots book has the Ravens -8.5 @ 1.86. I don't know why, but 9 points seems more reasonable than 10, lol. I'm still undecided, I might throw a peanut or two at it. The one big spread I was thinking was a safer bet is TB to cover +7.5 at Detroit.
But the one I'm mainly considering is the Patriots ML @2.36. Again, WC team on the East Coast, Seattle looked like shit against the Broncos last week and barely won despite a shit ton of mistakes. On the other hand Patriots surprised everyone beating a supposed powerhouse, and this will be their home opener with some momentum and swagger.
