I'm all good. Yeah, i've lost a lot compared to what I won but it doesn't destroy me. Things will be complicated only if you are choosing gambling first before your priorities like family, expenses, etc. Greediness will lead you to nothing. In my case, I'm playing for how many years already but I can say I'm good because when it comes to real life priorities, I always chose it first. Eventhough I can't stop myself from playing atleast I set aside my gambling habit when it comes to priorities.

Apparently, gambling isn't destroying you, and if you can continue this way, you can gamble years and years in the future without harming yourself or others. Most gamblers, according to stats, are in this position, and they have no need of leaving gambling. However, they must be aware of dangers of abusing, and such discussions, as we see in this thread, can be of good help, imo.

I too can't make myself stop sometimes, but even during those times I don't lose big amounts.  What we need is the right priority setting, as you pointed out, and, I'm sure, anyone can come up with better plans of spending big amounts than losing it to gambling.

Yes if we want to not destroy our life because of the gambling you need to not addicting playing.

I often see topics related to stop gambling.

Arise in my mind, everyone is easy to say stop gambling but doing it is very difficult.
So I have the urge that every individual can stop gambling by having the seven elements that I give below.

Thought:
Many gambling addicts think to stop, but emotional problems that encourage individuals to have more money when winning in gambling games, the biggest impact is the opposite that gets is defeat, not to mention the impact on the family when problems arise: "I want to stop gambling". Out of the mouth.

All that is based on the mind, no, sincerely to stop gambling.

There are things you need to remember to stop gambling, not based on money, money is just greed: again, again and again.

To stop gambling there are some addicts to do.

1. Intention: the main capital intention in determining individuals to stop gambling, if someone has a strong determination to stop it will have the percentage of someone actually quitting gambling.
2. Individual mindset: this is very heavy, most difficult for many heavy addicts to do.
The mindset of individuals used to associate with gambling gangs, the mafia, now change the mindset and associate with wise, good, and respectable people, little by little addicts will wake up and the days are full of good deeds.
3. Family: in this case it is prioritized, first the family in the number position......now the family is made number 1 more time with family.
4. Hobbies: this also supports to stop playing gambling, used to be a hobby of balls, horse racing or elements that easily fall prey to gambling, now switch hobbies that do not blend gambling, such as reading, hard work, etc.
5. Debt: if the habit of debt, for now stop, accept it as is, do not look too much up, multiply look down, which needs to be remembered, above the sky there is still sky, below the ground there is still land, thankful.
6. Positive: positive thinking can also encourage someone to be more confident, first thinking evil now thinking positive patterns.

But it is also the hardest part of gambling, to avoid getting addicted.
Being greedy is already in the nature of a person, removing it seems to be impossible. The only thing a person can do is to stop for a while if they think that they are getting addicted, that way, they can prevent from digging their own grave.

Yes, you are right. I agree that we must use gambling as fun and entertainment, and don't rely on gambling to make money.

I agree that we don't rely on gambling to earn money but I disagree if it is a must to gamble in order to have fun and entertainment. Everyone has their own purposes to play gambling. If someone plays gambling to earn money, we cannot blame him. It is normal that people are interested in the big amount of prizes on gambling.

That is was hard and of a big challenge when sometimes you've been getting into addiction. Many gamblers whereinto that situation but they can make themselves leave gambling because they consider this as a source of income. And for us who still have a chance to escape for a horrible to be in the gambling, we have to make it before we got stuck and be addicted.

I think so, Gambling is a serious intoxication that can't be expected comeback easily. I think in this case, there are various healing centers/rehab centers where a person who is addicted to a few months of observation has the possibility of returning to normal life. They observe the addicted person through their various exercises and motions and helped him to get rid out of it. It may be effective for those who are addicted in extreme level, they can come back to their normal lives by this way.

I wonder how effective such therapy is. I mean, for sure it will only take couple of months or let's say even a year (though I'm skeptical on this because it was too long) but when he go outside and live his own life again, how sure we are that he will no longer go back on the vice he once got addicted ? You know what, I think it is all about the mind. Undergoing therapies is good however it costs you money, actually you can change if and only if you are willing enough to. Make an introspection, find your inspiration and make steps to cure your own self .

Getting out of it especially if you are already addicted into it is very hard indeed.

I have experienced getting addicted too but not in gambling but in games. There were times that I only sleep 4-5 hours only and I always eat late than the usual hours of eating. That lasts for 4-6 months until I saw that I became thinner already and prone to sickness and that is the time that I manage my time and until now, I'm still managing it and I feel better right now when I'm playing.

I'm interested to see what has OP said gambling is for fun. This tag line/intention will keep your live is fine although you have a hobby to play gambling. Unless, you made gambling as an income which I think he should leave gambling and never come back again then it will be good.

As for a control, indeed it is very needed. But as long as you want your money back then I'm sure with 100% you will be hard to control to manage your money. So, just in my opinion when you play gambling maybe you will be good to use money that you can afford to lose. That was one of the stupidest things to do, imo. I mean, even the guy himself said it in an interview:

However, I'd like to say the following to all gamblers around:

If you don't want to give gambling a chance to destroy you, you should never, ever risk more money than you can earn in one day. And if you gamble frequently, your max bet should not exceed 10% of your daily income.
