Firefox is my last resort.

Firefox it is, for a start, Chrome is just not worth it if you are a privacy conscious person. That is the latest sign to show you that they are trying to fight all sorts of privacy and people from blocking their stupid ads. Not only was BPIP add-on affected but even a few ad blockers that did not conform to their new upgrades

It's been like that for a long time. However, you can still use it. Turn on developer mode and start it manually.
This is what it looks like to me.

It's stopped working for me starting today. I tried enabling the developer mode and tried to enable the extension a couple of times, but it doesn't work for me. I have been using the extension for a while, and now the forum looks naked without the extension data. I also tried the method posted by albon, and it ended with an error shown in the image below



I tried almost everything in the last 30-40 minutes, but nothing works for me  
I would appreciate it if anyone could come up with a working method. Or maybe the team is working on releasing a new version?

What is the version of your Chrome browser? You can check it by clicking on Settings in the browser, then About Chrome.

The issue is that the extension has become outdated (V2), while your browser is more up-to-date and no longer supports it.

You can try re-downloading and installing this [Extension] by enabling Developer Mode, and let me know the results.

Also,, as I mentioned in my previous post, you can install the Test version, it's working smoothly for me.

Forget everything, mate!
I never knew there was a test version. I just installed it and it seems to be working fine for me. As long as it works, I am fine with that. Since the test version is working fine, I don't want to troubleshoot and waste my time fixing the other extension. I already wasted nearly an hour trying all these methods shared by you and others. Unfortunately, nothing worked for me.

As I said, the test version is working fine and I appreciate your help. Let's hope they won't remove this extension as well. Or I will have to use other browsers like Firefox or edge.

Allows extensions with legacy (unsupported) manifest versions to be loaded as unpacked extensions. This should only be used for maintaining legacy extensions and will be removed in the future. – Mac, Windows, Linux, ChromeOS

If someone still wants chrome then the test version should work for now

I have been using edge for quite some time and I am enjoying it.

All chrome extensions work at edge, and it is fast .

I also use Firefox, but I like to use 2 browsers, one of each kind of stuff

Finally I was able to fix it. I was trying again and again for the past few days. But I couldn't download it using Chrome browser. After seeing this today, I changed the browser and it downloaded. I was really having a lot of trouble for the past few days. Just for writing this one:

It's currently still available on Brave, and I'll keep using it as long as it's available.

Tip: ditch Chrome and use Brave, Firefox, or similar platforms.

yeah, the other day they completely killed ublock origin.
they just turned it off, and the only option they gave me is to remove it. they don't even pretend anymore.
any extension that goes against their agenda is either gone or soon to be.

Yeah, allowing a legacy extension manifest versions is a temporary fix, but they hint that this will also be disabled in the near future, so switching to the likes of Firefox right now and getting familiar with them before it's too late is the best thing to do.

I can't imagine going back in time where different adds have to pot up on my browser just because I visited some site or clicked on some link.

To be honest, I have been using Chrome and TOR for years and never though about changing it anytime sooner until this manifest issue arrived. I always preferred these two browsers. But nowadays I'm having it hard just to keep using the extensions I used to use. Many of them cannot be found anymore and some doesn't have manifest V2 versions of them, so I can't use them. I tried using forked version of chrome (example bromite) but they too had issues, so I stayed at the original.

The website seems to be OK on my end, even when I visit the other pages. Maybe it's back to normal. I think I have faced this before but I guess they are just some temporary downtimes so no need to panic

I know, that's why the interface looks exactly like firefox.

I only use a few extensions which shouldn't cause any significant slowness. For example bpip and an adblocker. Another thing I do is that I always keep several tabs open. By several tabs I meant like 12-15 all together. I have 32 gigs of ram, so I never noticed anything "not responding". The max uses would be like 60-70% in those cases.

Yeap, currently all pages are working from my side also, most likely it was a temporary downtime. 
But what else can I say about panic? You must know how much role bpip extension plays in exploring bitcointalk forum users' data. So when it doesn't work, at least I can't be right.
