There are several reasons for this like in my country at least most of the people who heard blockchain and cryptocurrency think Bitcoin is the only currency in the crypto. And we look at the past only BTC exists at the top position since its inception and all other currencies have less history when compared to BTC. Still many of the fiat investments are getting into the BTC first rather than the Alts and BTC is considered as the large-cap currency with high liquidity so getting in and out of the BTC with huge volume is easy when compared to other coins.

If you go with the market cap, then Bitcoin is almost 3 times bigger than all the altcoins combined (here I have added Bitcoin forks such as BCH and BSV to the market cap of Bitcoin and have excluded the stablecoins). Dominance is very important but the reason why people here invest into altcoins is not because they think it will get worldly famous like maybe one day bitcoin could, it is mainly because people think bitcoin could go up only so much and altcoins have a bigger ceiling. Just to give an example, ethereum could do 10x right now and become over 2 thousand dollars, or it could simply do 5x and make it to over 1 thousand dollars, these are quite valuable and doable increases, whereas bitcoin has to be over 50 thousand dollars if it goes 5x, and not many people think that is possible that quickly.

So, to people who are not really deep into crypto, yes bitcoin is the only one, but to people who are around here all the time, altcoins have a bigger ceiling for high price.

Technically, Bitcoin is still at its stage of being a baby. The maturity of the market is not enough. It has a big room for improvement. Bitcoin is the most promising cryptocurrency of all time. As we see on the chart, the situation can change very quickly. I think it is quite clear that the bear market is when Bitcoin's dominance is rising and the bull run is when its dominance is falling.
At the moment, we can say that we have stabilization, but it is still unknown if this is the end of Bitcoin's domination.
I think we still need a few more weeks to make sure it's the end of price drops and price manipulation by whales. However, we can definitely say that the situation looks much more positive than last year.

Absolutely yes, It is pretty sure that Bitcoin is king of the whole market, and majority of cryptocurrencies are just the followers especially Ethereum. In fact, it is true that some of coins are really profitable especially when you have an acceptable knowledge in trading field, because without it you will be definitely disappointed, people here are so hasty , they just want to get a lot of money with 0 effort and knowledge, and it does not going to happen to be honest.
If you want to secure your money  then you need to invest in Bitcoin and Ethereum.

Bitcoin is like a gateway drug, and like real drugs there will be some users that stay with it, dip their toes in some other coins in a moderate way, go full fledged heroin junkie addict with the tons of shitcoins that promise the best high ever, or leave to never try any every again.

So yeah, BTC being top doesn't mean there isn't a robust market for the others. There's room for the boom.

It's old news bro, it's always been like that even in the deepest of the last 2017 bull run.
BTC is the king & will remain that way for long long time to come.
I personally hate BTC for doing this, it's just killing the rest of the crypto market & make other good projects that solve real life issues doomed to failure & unnoticeable.  Sad but True.

After the fall of ethereum, the dominance of bitcoin markets in crypto world is really bigger than any other market where no such single asset is contributing all the share of marketcap. There will be no wonder on seeing why bitcoin is this much bigger than any other coin in crypto markets still being such a big thing in market may enforce new investors to think about distribution of their risk factor.

Usually stock investors do follow diversification principles which means even any asset will be disappointing them, some other asset will help them to reach their target. But, in cyrpto due to only one big thing, they cannot diversify like they usually do which may make them not to invest with full confident on cryptos.

Bitcoin really earned  it, not only because it is the first and solid decentralized blockchain but also owing to its uniqueness which has made  everyone to cherish it. People have come to understand how valuable bitcoin is thus going for it as never before which has lead to its high market value which of course keeps growing and it will remain like that for years to come. Although other coins like Eth are trying their best but yet not a match for the king of crypto.

Bitcoin is and will always remain to be the dominant crypto and king of cryptocurrency and that's the only reason the fluctuations in the value of bitcoin has it's effect throughout the crypto market. I don't think any other altcoins including ETH, Ripple or BCH will ever be able to replace Bitcoin and we have seen other altcoins as well growing at a rapid pace but they could not compete with bitcoin.

He is not far from the truth, I mean everyone will always go for what they believe in. To most people or rather a greater number of people in this crypto sphere values Bitcoin more than any other coin. Once there is a good movement in the market, Bitcoin takes the lead so who wouldn't want to hold a coin like that. Also, other altcoins mentioned are trying their best but not enough to make them the center of attention like Bitcoin. In my own opinion, I prefer holding bitcoin in a larger proportion and then other altcoins.

We may see a decline in bitcoin's dominance in the near future if the growth of the cryptocurrency market continues. This will happen because altcoins will show a greater price increase than bitcoin. But if the growth of bitcoin stops now, it will entail an even greater reduction in the cost of altcoins and the dominance will become even greater.

This year will be a year for altcoin holders, bitcoin will still be profitable but altcoins will have higher return of investment, I suggest you still hold bitcoin though because nothing can be guaranteed in crypto space
