Is there any way of gaining positive trust to remove the Negative trust

Hello. most accounts here do have negative trust and it is as a result of promoting scams OR indulging in scam activities. It is one way of identifying scandalous members here.
what if such people decided to change and become better people. what are the ways of removing the negative trust on them and accepting them back to the community as trusted members.

The affected account can try to send PM to the person who left the negative feedback, but most of the time there is no change. Again depends who left you the feedback. Some people is some occasions tend to change their feedback in neutral. 
In general it's almost the same with plagiarism, if you get caught with plagiarism you get banned, and that's for life, like you cannot create new account and start form the scratch, with you "career" in the forum is finished.

Negative trust only can be removed by person who leave the negative trust on that users. In many case members get negative trust by do something stupid and scam or break the rules. In my opinion, if someone do scam like scam money or cryptocurrency, scam project, or do something really worst. It's very hard to get trusted back from the DT or never.
But if the mistake is not too bad and can be forgiven. The negative trust can be removed if the users always do the good things and can proofing the DT about his past mistake. It's why if the users get negative trust, don't get mad and do more stupid things in this forum. PM DT or make a thread in reputation/meta is better to solved it.

IMO the negative trust should sit on the user's shoulders forever as soon as the user has done anything malicious such as scamming. Most of the time they are only pretending to change for the better just because they've been caught. Otherwise, they're going to keep scamming until someone stops them. Therefore, negative reviews should be stored in their history.

Even if the user changes for the better for real, there still has to be a little question mark above their credibility. Once a cheater, always a cheater - this is a fact more often than not.

However, negative trusts for trolling and other things that aren't very severe and did not directly affect other users could be changed/removed.

Like what others already mentioned, there's only one way to get the negative trust removed. For the ways of removing, you should look at why you were given a negative tag first. There are various reasons for getting it and one of them is through defaulted loans or violation of contracts. In that case, all you can do is settle the amount and hope that those who tagged you will remove or changed the feedback to neutral.

There is a largish number, but not huge (and certainly not "most"). Just over a year ago, around 15K account had negative trust (from a DT perspective). I haven’t got a more recent set of data, but another indicator I’ve got is that nearly 4.800 merited profiles (out of over 40k profiles) bear negative trust (from a DT perspective). They may nevertheless have positive ratings too.

Note that I’ve mentioned from a DT perspective a couple of times. As things stand, the Trust score counters (positive, neutral and negative) display the values provided by the ratings in accordance to your trust view (be it your custom trust list, or the Default Trust view (DT) which most view). You cannot counter the negative values with positive values, as they are independent counters, and only the person who gave you a negative rating can change that.

It is though pretty usual to have negative ratings that do not count towards the Trust counter values (these will be the untrusted feedback). For example, I’ve got a couple of these negative ratings, originated as a worthless retaliation for calling out a couple of scammers. This is quite a usual modus operandi, but rather futile as an attempt to damage one’s account, lest the retaliation come from the DT network (top levels).

In theory, the Trust system should be commerce related. That applies to commerce transactions you could have made with a given person (where one would give feedback in accordance to that experience) and/or the ability of that person to scam you or others (desirably, providing a reference to some substantial evidence). Nevertheless, if you read through feedback on people’s profiles you’ll see all sorts of feedback that differs from this commerce nature, thus undermining in some cases the nature of the Trust System’s principle.

That’s why, besides looking at the trust ratings (which are a numerical summary so as to say) you need to read a profile’s trust feedback (both trusted and untrusted) in order to get a general composition of the person’s trustworthiness.

Changing negative beliefs is not as easy as turning the palm of the hand, DT members certainly don't carelessly give negative/positive beliefs.
Wherever someone has made a grave mistake, it is not appropriate to be given positive trust or neutral trust anymore.

Most likely only a small mistake that can be forgiven, to replace the neutral trust.

Rules and trust are two separate entities. Although some people leave red trust for breaking the rules - plagiarism, spamming, etc. - this isn't really an ideal use of the trust system. These users should instead be reported to the moderators and either have their posts deleted or be banned.

However, negative trusts for trolling and other things that aren't very severe and did not directly affect other users could be changed/removed.

These ratings shouldn't really exist in the first place. A neutral rating is more than enough to warn other users about trolling, spamming, etc.

As the thread title says gaining positive trust to remove negative trust. It is not possible that your negative trust will be removed by gaining positive trust. The only way to remove the negative trust is the person itself who sent you a negative trust. Try to pm the person who give you neg trust and see if that person will remove it. If removed then you're lucky but if not then nothing else you can do.

Receiving one positive trust does not make you become more trusted, and receivin one negative trust does not make you become likely a scammer. It is right for small number of trust but it will become very different if you receive many positive or negative trust (legit ones, not abused or exchanged ones).

If you receive your neg trust from a DT, you have to accept that, if it is right at the start. Then, try to be calm down, and improve yourself. Months or years later, your neg trust will likely be removed by that DT member if you send your request and get acceptance to remove it. Of course, you can only get acceptance if that DT member think that you actually change. But it is a very long adventure to go.

Right. Forgot for a moment that these are under the Neutral category.

If someone's commited a crime, they'll have to live with it. It's up to them if they change or not. Changing to neutral may be an option, but if they had done something severe enough in the past, negative trust should sit there. As I said, in +95% of the cases they're only changing if and after they're caught. Hence, I see no reason I would ever let the community trust them again.
