Hey Guys..
I´m looking for a good GPU for Mining.. The Elektricity is free.
Now i wonder about the Price from these 2 Cards. XFX Radeon VII 16GB HBM2, HDMI, 3x DP around 579€
ASRock Phantom Gaming X RADEON VII 16G around 749€
Both have similar specs. Anyone could test one of these Cards.? Any Results.? Which Card are better for Biosmod.?
Or better these Card: GigaByte GeForce RTX 2080 SUPER GAMING OC 8G (rev. 2.0)
Thx a lot.

this is my opinion
if you have experience in mining you can choose redeon vii(but i recommend 5700-5700xt)
hard to config in first time (modbios, config voltage) if done config everything run fine you can forget about it and go to trade only.
because amd card have less coin to mine and less software to mine when compare to nvidia.
for me im choose nvidia for easy config only overclock and under voltage
and when you use more than 2 years before out of warranty you can sell card to gamer for good price more than amd card.

Yes, i have experience.. have build a rig 3 years ago with 6x RX570, now have Build 10 x Ryzen 9 3900x. now i would put some GPUs on these Boards. Think will buy some RTX 2080 Super, and RX5700.
Which one of RX5700 is good.? because a lot of different Brands. This one could be good, or.? Sapphire AMD Radeon RX 5700 XT Nitro+ SE 8GB
Thx

The 2080 super has faster memory. I run simplemining, so thats Linux. On Linux its only possible to go up to 7000 Mhz. The default memory clock of a 2080 (not Super) is 6800 Mhz. So i can only overclock 200 Mhz. On windows i can boost the ram over 8000 Mhz and thats good for some algos. Grin31 and others..... You can check this in the Simplemining part of this forum. Running a 2080 super isnt worth the price compared to a 2080 - on Linux. On windows, some coins (GrinC31) needs full 8GB RAM, so you cant run GrinC31 on Windows. For more infos about the 2080 check this: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5129328.0Its in german but i am sure it will be a help.

Before you choose any GPU for mining you need to look at the Algorithm in which you are going to mine. Like Cryptonight-GPU(RYO) is a core dependent mining algorithm that doesn't have concept of GPU memory, means it can be mined with low-memory cards. So choose GPU according to algorithm in which you are going to mine.

It depends.....
Nvidia 1080ti around 200 Watt gives 1.6 H/s with GrinC31 Nvidia 2080 around 130 Watt gives 1.8 H/s with GrinC31
I think you can calculate your profit yourself so... what does this mean BESIDE the profit?
6 x 2080 with a cheap 1000 Watt psu
against
6 x 1080ti with a minimum 1500 Watt PSU.
2080 much newer, better resale value - both used price around the same
2080 LOTS of less heat (my 2080 run under 40 degrees) - lower running fans - less damaged fans over time - so less problems over time
2080 much faster memory clock against 3 GB more memory - futureproof? we will see
overall i only buy 2080s - for me they are perfect - its your choice
@Herry - i dont buy GPUs for 1 algo. I switch to the most profitable one. Otherwise i would look for asics

The first question is what you want to mine. It depends which algo you will mine. @Wotan Wipeout Herry Toms is a spam bot. Spam his RYO in every thread without any known background knowledge.

thx for the info. Didnt know that. You are right. But atm i would only buy GPUs for Grin. So my calculation is about this coin. Wouldnt buy a 2080 for ETH. Wouldnt buy any GPU for ETH these days. Better to be flexible. But thats my idea.

Yes i do this also. This is one reason why GPU mining will survive in my opinion.

Didnt buy any 2080ti so far. 80-90% higher price for maybe 50% more hash. But i dont have 1. Maybe i am wrong. Would be bad to say something about stuff you dont have.

Great List Wotan..
Last hours i checked a lot of things.. now i came to the same Result. The 2070 Super and 2080 Super have aroud 280€ Price difference. Maybe i take some 2070 Super, because hashrates are not sooo much more at the 2080 Super.

Thx. Better to compare the 2070 Super to the 2080. Its around the same. More hash more price. But the ratio is nearly the same. If you go for used, you will find more 2080s and might geat a good deal. I never payed more than 550 EUR for a 2080. If you want to go for more GPUs, the 2060 super isnt bad. 8GB Ram. I prefer less rigs and more hash.

I'll not make the decision to you, but I'll just help with some thoughts Radeon VII is not easy to find the "sweet spot" for mining and you have to tweak a lot to find it, another thing to consider is the RMA, we have a lot of cases of RMA of people using VII to mine Your best friend here is https://whattomine.com/coinsIn this website you'll put your GPU, your electricity costs and it'll return with the profits you can make at the moment and a list os coins that you can mine with the GPU What I recommend is: make a list with the GPUs and prices you have in your country, then go to the Whattomine website and see how much can you make daily with each card, and then put that on a table and see which card will return their own costs with fewer time Keep reading our mining section because there are excelent reviews and tips for mining and remember, mining have difficult, if you make 1 dollar today it's not guaranteed that you'll gain the same amount tomorrow

Why not the RX 5700? It can mine eth, c31, c29, MTP and its cheap compared to the rtx series. New generations of cards are coming soon also.

New generation? For Nvidia forget it. My estimate is they bring the Titan first. Price 3k and up. If we are lucky the 3080ti might come in september for ![Huh](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/huh.gif) 1400 EUR ![Huh](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/huh.gif) i would say. The 3080 for around 900 i think. So nothing to mine with. Much too long roi. The 3070 could be the new mining card.... around christmas. For AMD? No idea if they are good. I always had problems taking AMD cards to the max. I remember with all the 480s, sorting by memory type, reselling to get good ram.... what a mess. Glad i got rid of em. AMD has to bring out something really good if i ever buy 1 again.
