I think the purpose of holding BNB coin is not only about discounts for using it on Binance exchange. Nowadays, BNB coin is one of the favorite coins for investment/trading. All coin that release by exchanges it self ( private ) is to support promotion, liquidity and money circulation on the exchanges. I believe exchanges manipulate that coin ( BNB ) but is really for exchanges purposes to stay alive and survive. I agree no one can predict what might possible happen because even the real life we are also not sure what might happen. Thats why we have prediction which can  give as information about possible might happen. So I think securing our future is a good step for having a good living. it depends on how useful the BNB is. if in the next 5 years, binance is still popular and is still the number 1 exchanger, I think the development of BNB will also get better. I quite believe that BNB will be more victorious, and have prices that are almost the same as ethereum in the future, moreover, binance has its own dex.

5 years is a long time, maybe the price will fall, or it will enjoy the support of crypto enthusiast. I don't understand though what do you mean by discount? As far as I know, they have this sort of quarterly burning of it's token, so that alone might push the price in the future, but still we can't really tell at this point.

Currently, it's worth ~$40 million, so that's a lot of money already, so if in the next 5 years, Binance remain on top of the crypto exchange competition, maybe just maybe it will grow.

We either progress or regress in life as time goes on. Nature abhors stationary and I guess that's what also should happen with investment. Even when you don't make profit or loss you still would be at the same spot. Well, as for what happens with Binance in the next 5years, not even CZ knows it. Crypto industry is a highly unpredictable industry. Ten years ago I am sure no one would've believed that Poloniex and Bittrex would be almost nonexistent today. Binance as an exchange is even less than 4years old today but look at where it has got - on a high pedestal. I can't put my money on anything here on where Binance will be next.

BNB exchange prices are entirely dependent upon the well being of the Binance exchange. Although the exchange is doing pretty well in the current situation, we don't know what will happen after 5 years. I am saying this, because I have seen a lot of large exchanges folding before my own eyes. And the list includes Mt Gox in 2014 to Cryptopia in 2019.
