The TRON Foundation has just announced a major partnership with the blockchain-based social networking firm Steemit. The move, aimed at pushing TRON adoption, is the latest of a series of deals to promote the network’s usage.

It’s no secret that Ethereum is the most widely used decentralised application platform at present. Recent reports by analysis firms like SwissBorg and others show that the number two cryptocurrency network by market capitalisation still dominates the likes of TRON, EOS, and their competitors.

The TRON Foundation is hoping to change that. The organisation has announced a string of high profile partnerships of late, aiming to promote the network’s adoption. Recent examples include deals with BitTorrent, Poloniex, Samsung, and DLive.

The latest big partnership will see the TRON Foundation working with the blockchain social networking startup Steemit Inc. The deal will involve the migration of the blogging platform’s native cryptocurrency asset STEEM to the TRON network.

What do you think about this? Are you huge fans of Steemit? I've kinda given up using the platform because of the bots / whales. Also you can read the full article on the link below, it's where I found the information.

This is a bad business for steemit. selling off to TRON shows he need the money more than the steemit project. steem came out as the first crypto project to pay content makers with a crypto currency. it made sales and was accepted. the owner could has explore other means of promoting the platform instead of selling off. apart from paying article writers. he should have integrated in to audio and video content as well. or improve the steemit platform to a streaming site. this could be a saving point for it rather than selling off.

TRON will definitely kill off the steem platform. i don't think there is anything they will offer.

I think TRON are trying but they will not take over bitcoin or ETH, I guess it's good crypto projects are trying to work together. Good article, thanks for sharing.

Probably, there's no other reason why they would partner with tron. I haven't really heard much about steem for a long time and I guess they're kind of losing steam. Bounty0x may have gotten the better portion of their market. I'm not sure sure how current investors would see this move though, migrating from a coin to becoming just another tron token doesn't look appealing to me  Cheesy

Seems like a smash and grab by TRON, I think instead of buying out systems that they think have users that will adopt TRON create their own systems. They already own Bittorrent and now Steem, instead why not create something that can create value? There are already working examples.

Good article though.

I don't think this will really change much as Bitcoin still dominates and also most crypto projects are ETH based. Tron just trying to get closer to the big boys. Nice article though.

Partnership of this level really sounds good to me and i think different projects and teams should partner and work together this will not only help the projects but will also bring more efficiency, technology upgrades, innovative experience and best of all teams automatically become much bigger technology wise and also due to userbase increase the revenue can increase as well so surely tron is doing its job and i also hope that steemit will really boost as a result of this  partnersip and it will be much easier for users if they apply one network around.

They are trying to catch ETH and BTC, but i would rather they come up with their own systems rather than buying Steemit, just smacks of laziness.

there is a lot of noise regarding this partnership, and steemit witnesses are discussing soft fork to prevent Justin to use funds that he acquired by buying the stake from Ned (steemit CEO), based on some earlier promises by Ned, which are just story, there is no concrete evidence on that

Microsoft did great by buying up technologies they needed. Justin knows how the world works and is simply playing the game the right way. Meeting with the likes of Buffet and Wozniak he's trying to position TRON to be the go to social platform for internet 3.0. The best thing about buying or partnering with existing companies is their user base.

I know you guys think that crypto should be decentralized and governed by the users of the systems, I do too, when I'm dreaming about the perfect future. But that will NEVER happen with the tight controls the PTB have over our financial systems.

I think this is a negative as we have recently seen in the news.

Steemit will just become a vehicle for marketing for TRON, which is sad.

Justin sun just like CZ have been always  used dubious and media centric strategy to ruin the cry pro community. The problem  here is no one has been challenged with their ways.

I am not sure what will happen in the future but, situation create by Justin sun might ruin everything happening in cryptocurrency.

I think this will blow up in Sun's face he has already angered the community around this project, and with any project the adopters are by far the most important aspect of a project.

If the fact that TRON plagiarised their whitepaper did not have any effect, then this will not either. Scammers and scams will keep flourish in crypto.

I think steemit as whole fell into Justin sun's ambition of dominating this space. If you'd ask me, i'd say its a smart move for tron Sun and unfortunate one for steemit blickchain. Billionaires in the world such as Warren Buffet acquired their wealth through purchasing, investing and partnership with already established enterprises and these people seems to be justin sun's rope model as his recent meeting and the dinner with them shows. From the recent acquisition and partnerships of sun's with the likes BitTorrent, Poloniex, Samsung, and DLive and now steemit blockchain, there's no doubt Justin Sun is following the Buffet way.

In my opinion, if the partnership is carried out very well because it can boost the development of TRON going forward both in terms of price and bring in a lot of investors. but steemit already has its own coins, can the collaboration be done well ?.

I think Sun will ruin Steemit and use it as a platform for TRX in the end, goodbye Steemit.

I think this will backfire on Sun, we have already had an apology from Binance and Sun is still blaming "hackers". I would much prefer that Sun and TRON built their own systems and platforms rather than simply buying other successful platforms because people will stop using it if you change it.

I hope this blows up in Sun's face and he will realise that without a strong community behind a project, it struggles a lot.

Well they have announced a fork to HIVE, so let's see what happens, I think Sun has lost out, you can't buy a community hopefully he will learn that.
