They give this guy 21 mins of airtime, and he basically says that China "controls" the Bitcoin blockchain. Some other gems in there too. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-Ag6kxco4kk

People are still pointing out at the Chinese mining farms to create a false image around it, as if Bitcoin is controlled by the Chinese government. They'll just keep doing that, because they have money and they have the influencing power. So many false ideas are contoured around BTC, but a simple search is more than enough to find whether it's true or false. And giving XRP and Ripple a few searches is also enough to know why you should never listen and give audience to their spokesperson, CEO of Crapple. Ripple's sitting in a shit ton of money thanks to their XRP shitcoin. Remember, just a bit more than 10 days ago they've released another 100,000,000 XRP. There you go, $30M out of nowhere. Imagine Satoshi having 500kBTC and randomly releasing 10kBTC every month. Trustless payment system? What a joke Bitcoin will never do that, XRP simply acts the same way fiat does so it established the same aura fiat has in my mind: centralized, inflation, crap. Get your money out of it before it decreases in value, in other words. Of course they're giving him +20 minutes of airtime. He's their man, Ripple is the company sustaining the digital fiat. Or, in other words, digital shit. I could invest in some random 2000th shitcoin from CoinMarketCap and it'd be the same thing as investing in XRP or fiat.
Now putting all that aside, I'd recommend lowering your mic volume. The beginning of the video scratched my ears until I reduced the volume by more than half.

It's pretty obvious that he's trying to shill his shitcoin to the masses but one thing for sure is that his coin will never beat Bitcoin. It's pretty ironic that they guy trying to trash bitcoin actually owns some coins The CNN chaps are of course all about money, so i would be surprised if he never spent a single cent to get all those minutes of Airtime.

Free advertisement and free exposure. Anyway, the dude clearly knows what he's saying on air and knows that it isn't true. It's a desperate attempt to convert people into his centralized scam that isn't even working remotely anymore. While I agree that the transaction times and confirmations are a lot faster in ripple, still I can't deny that it's still a centralized coin after all. Therr's lots of things that could happen a long the way prompting the shut down of its network and poof! Money gone.
As for the airtime, all I can say is thanks for taking bitcoin to CNN for free.

The hatred against bitcoin will never fade away because most of these CEOs want the crypto industry to adopt the use of their altcoin which is not going to happen once bitcoin is still around. That's why they want to bad label it so that crypto starters would find it unsuitable to use hence the need for us as bitcoin maximalist to be on our feet and stand against this. We can do this through educating people about bitcoin and it's use.

I certainly appreciate you posting the link to the video and your commentary in it, but that audio of the interview sucks--it's so bad that it's hard to understand (or perhaps I'm going deaf). Anyway, I can't stand XRP as a cryptocurrency. Never could, because it's so centralized that it has its own CEO--and not in the way some coins have a foundation (like Dash) with one. If he's talking about bitcoin kinda-sorta being centralized in China, then what does that imply about Ripple? BTW, I'm listening to the vid as I'm writing this and OP made the above point I made about Ripple being completely centralized. Props. I'm also curious to see where that Texas mining farm goes as far as hashing power. I know it's supposed to be big, but I don't think it's going to give China a run for its money.

Well, there goes whatever credibility XRP would've had from my side, I never expected anything from it yet I'm dissapointed in them. Not only he shows a total lack of understanding, but, should it not be lack of understanding and he be doing this knowingly, bitcoin was what brought the idea of XRP existing, so it's really like kicking yourself in the nose kind of thing. I guess there's too much money involved in crypto and this guy being bought by banks really shows they will try to bash the original intent of crypto in any way they can. Also here's the link to the original video, much better audio: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NGQLTgYIoqw

On the contrary, yes, this is really good for bitcoin being exposed on CNN, there could be curious minds watching and going to search what bitcoin is all about and who knows, maybe those are the fresh blood that we all have been waiting to push the price again. As for the Ripple CEO, it's pretty obvious that he will shill for his project, just like anybody.

they've always peddled that line so they can keep dumping XRP on naive greater fools. the funny thing is, even if china did control bitcoin, that would still be better than ripple. ripple (a small company) controls the ripple ledger. they control the majority of validating nodes, they control the majority of the XRP supply. it doesn't get any more centralized than that! https://medium.com/swlh/is-the-ripple-centralized-or-decentralized-e774706871de

Free advertisement I guess. He can bash as much as he like but it doesn't really mean that he could do some serious damage to Bitcoin, in fact, he is helping by giving an awareness to those who don't know what Bitcoin is. Though china is controlling the majority of the supply, it doesn't really mean that it will stay that way. There's a graph online that points the increasing spread of Bitcoin supply all over the world in time.

Any kind of marketing is good marketing, let them talk about bitcoin in media, for good or for bad, just let them talk. The difference between ripple and bitcoin is centralization. Ripple is a centralized coin and they decide when they deliver more coins for the markets. For me, this sounds rigged as hell.

Yeah, Advertisement of his own coin is I think the primary reason why he roasts bitcoin even though he has a high possibility of he himself is using bitcoin. Awareness of both cryptocurrencies will have a small curiosity within the people who is not aware of the said assets and they might add to the user population of cryptocurrency.

Indeed, some say that China is one of the biggest owners of bitcoin, but I don't think this will damage the price of bitcoin itself because some others are also scattered in parts of the world that can be the main access to stabilize bitcoin prices. This is just a mere issue to drop the price, moreover maybe in the future there will still be issues like corona virus that might be linked

Its a chance for him to make a public announcement why they think ripple is better than bitcoin. Its a way advertising in public using news program like CNN its a big opportunity for him. Since its a way of advertisement he willl never say anything bad for the project he created but in thier opponent which is BTC.

I think "all publicity is good publicity" isn't true for every case, and Bitcoin might seriously lack good publicity in the eyes of regular people - think about it, they usually hear about Bitcoin when something bad happens - the market crashes, it being demanded to pay a ransom, darknet markets and so on. Now we have shitcoiners spreading FUD against BTC on mainstream television.

"China controls the Bitcoin blockchain." The freakin typical mining pool hashrate argument. Funny statement coming from someone that pretty much controls a company that controls 100% of XRP's development and pretty much insta pre-mined everything lmao. EDIT: he just said "4 miners in China represent 60% of mining capacity". Biggest bullshit I've heard in a while. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NGQLTgYIoqw @7:08
