Today I wanted to share with you some services that you can cash back some BTC if you buy using their site in some online stores. unfortunately, they are only available in the United States. You can cashback up to 5%-25% depends on what kind of product are you buying. To get to the page of each site, just click which image you want to go to.

1. foldapp

Shop with your credit card or digital wallet at retailers in-store or online. Earn up to 20% cashback in bitcoin on every purchase instantly. Spend your bitcoin rewards, save them for later or withdraw them to your personal wallet!

2. lolli

Install the Lolli extension on your favorite browser, Shop the web. You'll get notified when you're on one of their partner stores, Earn bitcoin when you checkout using Lolli.

3. Pei

Link your card. Spend as you would at favorite spots. Receive automatic cashback in Bitcoin or cash.

Note: I'm not a representative of these services and my only purpose here is to help you when you need such services. you can put some feedback here to help our fellow members. I still cannot say if they really work because I'm not a US citizen.

Ehh, decent services for earning some extra sats, but I'd guess that these services are a nightmare in terms of privacy. They're businesses and they'd need to earn money one way or another, and I'm betting that it's through gathering of data.

Worse still, they seem to encourage criminal activity.  Got some stolen payment details?  Make some fraudulent payments through the cashback service and get even more bang for your stolen buck.  Have to deal with that crap on a weekly basis at work.

Definitely they are farming information for sale on you later on, this shit is rampant currently and only getting worse unfortunately.

That's because we, the people love to save on and we don't think much about privacy when it comes to fiat but hey, you get freaked down all over once you have that BTC on your address and voila, this gives info to the advertisers that you are now a proud owner of some Satoshis (a smallest unit of BTC). However, I saw Amazon.com in the first image and I'd like to say that Amazon gift cards allow you to add money and pay for almost all types of services these apps are making available to you, so why not do a flip of the services and instead trying to catch on some Satoshis via these sites and break our privacy, just visit Localbitcoins or paxful, buy some BTC with your fiat and then let others buy your BTC against Amazon gift card for around 40-50% higher payments per BTC? I'm sure there are dealers who do like that and save a lot of bucks while paying for their bills (and maybe their neighbor's too) Wink I know I didn't talk any shit about cashbacks here but this 40-50% discounted purchase of AGC without having to reveal your identity is much better than going for some Satoshis while giving all your data on these websites. I know that purchasing BTC on exchanges also need kyc to be done but that's the minimum kyc they ask for, while on the other side the exchange won't know where did you use that gift card, so you are safe on one side at least.

Quite surprisingly that these services are getting so much praise on Crypto Twitter too, knowing that privacy is an integral part of Bitcoin. Quite weird honestly. Anything for some cash back I guess? I completely understand why these services are so attractive though.

Probably. Though I'm really not sure how easy or hard it is to get away with stuff like that on these platforms.

Ridiculously easy, I'm afraid to say.  I don't know about this particular service, as it's based in North America, but there must be plenty of those cashback services here in Europe as I have to waste time at work dealing with the fallout of all the identity theft and fraudulent payments associated with them.  It's yet another damning indictment that KYC not only fails to prevent identity theft, but actively enables it.  Thieves are buying and selling vast tranches or personal information in conjunction with stolen payment details to commit ever-increasing amounts of fraud.

It is not about privacy on Twitter, but popularity as well as the free buck they make per each transaction made through those apps (or any advertised apps on Twitter or whatever the social media you refer to). And don't just forget the real game behind, it's also about that ^Crypto Twitter guy^ who is trying to make an extra buck by telling you about these services and giving you a shortened URL where you make him money at 2 different stages - First is when you watch that ad that comes up when you open that link and the other one is when you use those websites under his/her referral link.

What is Lolli and How Do I Use It?

Lolli is a bitcoin rewards site and browser extension that lets users earn bitcoin when they shop from our partner merchants. We form partnerships with top merchants and get a % of every sale. The reward (%) of bitcoin is determined by our participating merchants. Instead of keeping all the money for ourselves, we share that money with you, sending free bitcoin to your wallet! Smiley

Download, Activate, and Earn!
Download the Lolli browser extension. Visit one of our partner stores through our website or browser extension. Lolli alerts you to activate your savings when you get to the online store. Once Lolli has been activated, feel free to shop as you normally would. As long as your order is eligible, Lolli will track your purchase and send bitcoin to your Lolli wallet when the merchant pays us.

So they will basically just insert a referral tracking in your purchase and then split some of the money with you.

Quote
We DO NOT sell your personally identifiable data. Our business model is very clear -- we partner with top merchants that pay us when our users shop their sites

Yeah, like someone is going to believe that.
You have all the data con customers there, with a build-in extension that does exactly this and you're absolutely not going to sell it!!!

With pei is  getting ridiculous

Quote
Why is location always on needed?
Location services help to provide the most savings automatically. Since retail partners can vary in offers by location and at different times, location services helps to attribute the highest savings.
If the merchant is location specific and we cannot determine the location of the transactions, points will not be credited.

Google and facebook start to look like angels in terms of collecting data compared to these.

Woww, this is one of the smartest way of exposing people to bitcoin. Though might seem small but i know most of the US Citizens would try it out since they are not investing their own hard earned funds into it. it would be off great help if these services are extended to other parts of the world. By so doing it would also help in the mass adoption of bitcoin for payment services.

A good way to get bitcoin to the masses without having them to buy or work for the bitcoin for sure, but then again, is the few dollars worth of BTC cash back really worth the data you're giving them? Definitely not for me; but I'd understand and really won't blame you if you use such service, especially if you're a person living from paycheck to paycheck.

Unfortunately, many people not aware of their personal data's importance that is why they are giving all details including their cards to sign up for free trial versions apps,to get few cents as cashback. But those people who were collecting this data will sell for huge price than what we expect to bigger companies and it becomes normal in 21st century even facebook doing the same and making money from it.

People wont really matter that much as long they do know their cashback benefits. Most of us do prioritize anonymity but there are really people who do
simply neglect this one and choose that KYC thing. This is why im not really that fan of using up these apps or offers.

So after reading everyone's posts on this thread so far no one understands how these apps and sites work.

It's simple cash back, there are tons of sites and apps that do this. And if you notice almost all the stores you earn from are the same and have similar returns. Most of the cash back sites pay out in gift cards or paypal, a few do crypto which I think is great. As for "a few sats" between the my personal uses of cashback sites I've earned about 2.5k in the past 3 years not doing anything out of the normal.

Locations if any of them are local/instore offers they need to know that you are at the store or at the very least to give you a notification to tell you hey go into bestbuy and you get 5% back on your purchase.

Also for KYC and these sites a lot of them are based in the US, after you earn $600 in a year they are required to send you tax forms for your earnings.

So do you think these sites are paying you money for free then what is the benefit for that site? They are actually collecting the user data to target advertisements based on what they are buying more often, sooner or later you will see that kind of ads that you like to buy will popup while surfing the internet or while scrolling newsfeed, social media.

So they are targetting you and tempting you to buy a product even if you are actually no need that, you will actually spend more money but you consider you saved money by spending there.

So do you think these sites are paying you money for free then what is the benefit for that site? They are actually collecting the user data to target advertisements based on what they are buying more often, sooner or later you will see that kind of ads that you like to buy will popup while surfing the internet or while scrolling newsfeed, social media.

No, so if they offer you 5% back for shopping at Amazon, they use their referral link to Amazon (Amazon's affiliate link) odds are they are getting 10% from Amazon and splitting the difference with you.

What reason would foldapp need or how much do you think they would make selling your data to google or facebook, oh wait fb/google already get your info just by having those facebook/google installed on your phone. It's also kind of hard to remove google from your android phone seeing as google owns andriod unless you use mods.

It's all affiliate links, odds are there is some data selling but not too much. At least from the limited spam I get all the spam is from things I've signed up specifically for none of it is from any of the cashback sites I've used, at least based on the email headers that are coming in.

Learn some web design, create a decent site with good content then sign up for affiliate programs with the big players, Amazon, Walmart, Bestbuy etc. you'll see that they offer you a nice amount if any of your site visitors use your links. So some web devs created sites specifically for using their links, tell your users if you make a purchase on this site you will get x, you never have to tell them you make anything but it pushes them to buy using your link.

And before anyone says anything about the apps that you upload your receipts to, yes odds are there is some analysis going on with the things you buy but a larger portion of that is the new "coupon system" now the companies that issue printed coupons are going digital, you get paid by them by proving you made a purchase and if one of the items qualifies for a coupon you get x back (usually the value of the coupon).

Edit* Also I hope none of you are using facebook or google's dns if you are worried about your data being sold.

Ehh, decent services for earning some extra sats, but I'd guess that these services are a nightmare in terms of privacy. They're businesses and they'd need to earn money one way or another, and I'm betting that it's through gathering of data.
Most of the time cash back services offer ref links to some shops and share the "bounty" with you.
So I don't mind to take it in btc, but I'd rather withdraw it to my wallet and most certainly won't hold there

Guys you're confusing when reading about their privacy policy. They don't collect personal information, not your email or something link that.

Behind their service it's an affiliation system, as the poster above says; users click on their referral link to go to the website and they earn a commission. They don't see anything about you, not even your email or something like that. What they see are random numbers to identify your purchase. It's the basics of affiliate marketing, I mean it's the same everywhere, the whole marketing on the net is based on this

That's the kicker whenever I search for "earn bitcoin online" and these cashback apps appear; they're mainly US-only.

But on the bright side, those using non-BTC cashback apps could still use their earnings to purchase Bitcoins, just with some extra hassle.

The Wirex debit card gives you satoshis back on what you spend through their card. I'm sure it doesn't equate to what you pay them in fees but it might add up if you keep using it.

I'm surprised the bigger and better known cashback sites haven't looked into paying out into crypto yet. Since it's free money there might be some pretty good uptake.

I'm pretty sure they are afraid to put effort in the field which can possibly not grow further in long term.
So I assume after big crypto companies collabs with big payment giants (Visa, skrill, maestro etc.) a lot of interesting things will happen.
For instance some cashback sites will rush into crypto  Wink
