I've been asked for my input by a would be investor in a U.K. based mining operation using these machines.
The very cheapest electricity available here is 10 cents kWh. With the halving imminent I know there are huge unknowns, but I can't see much of a future with that (and other) costs.
Briefly, what are your thoughts?

At 80watts a th  or about 1600 watts a machine and 10 cent power  he should buy some coin rather then buy those.

On paper

if coin goes up  he makes money  and does not have to mine.

I am USA based and do not know his tax breaks for mining.  But I have 5 cent power and I am not buying them.

I will say when I found them I considered buying some with my 5 cent power. Talked it over with my partners and we passed on it.  We are looking for s17pros  or some new gear.

Yeah at 10 cents almost everything isn't worth it and if your banking on the price going up you would be better off just buying coin, unless you have tax advantages to purchasing gear. (In the US there are these benefits).

As for what that miner is and if you should get it, that's up to you. It's two S9's with a control card removed and 3 boards added to the other control card with the boards UC'd. The parallel miner is what is described below not what is in the picture.

Honestly you can just get 2 S9's UC them both and give up a 17w savings with 0 need for soldering. Also Asicseer UC'd at about 600w per machine has a w/th of around 67-70 still not great but better than 80-90.

no as the innosilicon has four board on the no controller section and this photo shows 3 boards on the no controller section.

It kind of looks like the A9++ which does have 3 boards on each section.

@OP where did your investor / person find the image. If it is an A9++ it isn't a BTC miner and if the investor doesn't know what the image is from then they shouldn't be picking what they will be running.

Phill, I have to agree to PassThePopcorn on this one, this without a doubt is Innosilicon Equihash A9++ ZMaster.

Pay attention to the images below for comparsion.

There are a few difference in the way they look, but the most obvious one is the white sticker with the blue writing right next to the ethernet port, bitmain always use a sticker with a black background and white writing, only Inno uses white and blue.

What is strange about the image that tmfp posted is in fact Jay Locke's image with his face hidden, Jay Locke is the founder of what's accused of being a Ponzi/MLM, called "goldmine369" and it's also based in UK!



I have no further information neither have I dug any deeper, but there is what looks like a solid scam accusation against the guy in the picture, you can read further here and here.

This is nothing but a warning to tmfp to rethink his choices, I am not accusing goldmine369/Jay Locke for anything without having a rock solid proof.


The math:

A9++ Zmaster is an Equihash based miner, it does not mine bitcoin, so you should not worry about bitcoin halving, the gear makes about 6$ a day after power at 10 cents Kwh , but keep in mind that is somehow a fresh alogthirm, the improvemt of the coming gears will differently kill the current once, it's nothing like Sha256 miners where we at 7nm already, and improvements are very little.

I wouldn't advice anyone to buy these gears, but that's just me!

but it is definitely a Innosilicon miner and a Innosilicon power supply.

My wild guess is Innosilicon A9++.

 yeah it may not be the a9+ or a9++  but after looking closer at the 2x s9 image I linked I can see for sure it is not that.

So if it is an A9+ or A9++ THE ENTIRE THREAD BELONGS in alt coins.

Thanks to all for the input.
As I say in my second post, I was asked for my opinion on a perceived investment opportunity in the UK (referring to but not naming Goldmine369), which indirectly claimed to use the above pictured miner in its operation, via an image I found (and cropped for posting here) when visiting behindmlm after a Google search.
I also found a promotional FB link (which I have posted in a reply to the behindmlm topic) all but confirming that the 369 schemers claim to be mining Bitcoin specifically.
I wanted to positively ID the machine so as to be able to quantify real likely earnings from it, as there are some mad numbers being throw about in the FB link to attract punters potential victims to what looks like yet another cloud mining MLM scam.
Once I've completed this background research, I shall create yet another of my Scam Accusation threads about it, as is my modus operandi (see my post history and here and here for examples).
Thanks again to all (including Frodo); when a concensus on the identity of the equipment is reached, then I'll either lock or move (if the machine is not Bitcoin capable) this thread.
