That's a pretty hard question to answer. You need to think about the risk/reward aspect here. If you've got TONS of money on hand, you should buy the top 10 coins, as they are the safest option. If you've got a tiny amount (less than $5000), you could go for low tier coins, you just need to do some proper research on them first though. Blocknet is a project I could easily see pull a 100x eventually (Next major bull run), due to their DEX platform taking off, providing service node owners with a ton of passive income, including their Xrouter which is a decentralized oracle network. There are tons of great projects to choose from, but do your own research, before you buy in to any of them.

Educate yourself first about the crypto market and start studying the different background of the crypto coins and how they move in the market. I suggest to focus more in bitcoin as this is the safest coin for now and it will guarantee good returns if you start investing in it for long term. There are also top altcoins in the market which can add to your investment like ethereum which is also a potential coin to invest.

Look at the top coins on coinmarketcap and find what you need from them such as the news and development updates also the price movement because those are the thing that you need to actually determine if those certain coins are worth to try or not. Just asking the tips without doing it by yourself doesn't make you grow up.

I recommend investing in coins that are ranked in the top 50 coin marketcaps.
For certain newbies might just limit them to at least top 10 IMO. A typical beginner should always take precaution especially if he has no skills and basic knowledge in trading. Top 50 is quite broad already. Imagine KickICO got listed there last week, and now not even on top 100 its too easy by manipulative coins yo be listed there and if newbie found them as gem but in reality just a scam? What would happened right.

I guess they are not satisfied with other people's threads and it is better to ask for themselves. Yeah, but I'll try to suggest it. however, to make the right decision, you need to do research first. whether it's about a new coin, or an old one. try to do research on the coins I mentioned below BTC ETH BNB BSV BCH EOS LTC and the top 20 CMC coins many people invest in the coins that I have mentioned today.

That's the problem here. People dont read or observed what is prohibited or not. Yes this inquiry has been so many times asked here but people still creating new threads. For what sake, I dont know why spamming for others are so easy to tolerate. People dont mind that some topics are becoming redundant. Yes sometimes they dont know, if got ask or not but this common one has been here on this section everyday with new poster and new format but still same question. Which coin to invest. Tsk. OP locked the thread. Not satisfied with 3pages of same answers already?

There are several threads regarding this topic already, and its easy to be honest. All you have to do is study and find out the type of product that the [project has to offer. Figure if their team is that of professionals or gamblers. Check their roadmap, if it was obeyed. Then do further researches before staking your claims.

It depends on what your plan is, are you in for long term investment plan or short term investment plan? Both are good if you go for Bitcoin and it never disappoints but for altcoins which at more risky it's better you go for long-term because that's just how altcoins are.

Since you’re still a newbie why don’t you start with Bitcoin? Bitcoin is the main thing that brought us all together here and is the first investment most of us consider. Bitcoin is not just considered most in terms of investment, but is also the cryptocurrency with the most usage.
When I started with cryptocurrency my first investment was in Bitcoin and after a year getting to two, I decided to also Branch out to other cryptocurrencies as well, and I would say that Bitcoin has benefitted me more than any other cryptocurrency that I ever invested in. There are times you would invest in altcoins and the price of altcoins would be going down while Bitcoin is going up. Before you start investing in these altcoins you must have been around here for sometime and understood how everything works.

At the moment, I follow the cryptocurrency market very closely and I liked one very promising Ethereum coin. Since this coin is very profitable in the field of investment. And if there is free money, I completely invest in Ethereum.

I will cross out the two bitcoin fork coins. Many don't think that it's a good investment because it's claiming the position of bitcoin. And do you agree with that idea they have in their minds? I don't think that it's been a good idea to invest and support those so I say no to those two forks.

you can choose a top rank coin in coinmarketcap in my opinion top 1-10 is not bad to make long-term investment so it depends on your taste you want to choose which coin suits you, I myself still maintain ethereum and tron
It doesn't work like this. Market cap isn't the only indicator you should be looking at. The most important factor is utility. If a coin does nothing and is only a fork of a fork like BSV it can have all the market cap in the world and it will still be a vulnerable shitcoin that brings nothing ne to the table. The only reason for its value is that it was forked from Bitcoin and some people believed that Craig could be Satoshi. Don't choose coins at random because they have a high market cap. First and foremost get some BTC then invest the rest in the coin that you think might be important for the ecosystem.

First, you must diversify your funds into some coins, never put it only in one choice. The coins you must invest are BTC and ETH. For the other coins, you can see on the Coin Market Cap and see some top coins. I prefer to choose Dash and BNB. You may also search for the newcomer likely OGN as listed on Binance and other new altcoins. Of course, doing your own research must be done exactly after reading some comments here.

Bitcoin has a huge market capitalization, therefore it's hard to produce drastic market movements because the amount of capital that needs to move into the market is huge. However, for altcoins, even the largest altcoins like Ethereum, they have a market capitalization at least 7x lower. Therefore 1/7th of the money moving into these markets will produce a percentage gain equal to that of Bitcoin. The thing is, these altcoins get more than 1/7th of the new capital moving into the market, hence why they often experience huge gains when the market is pumping.

Firstly, you need to learn the basics of crypto trading and I believe bitcointalk is resourceful enough to provide you the necessary information you need as regards trading. Investing in ICO or IEO is what I can't encourage you to participate in it for now because hardly will you see any project that you can profit from if you do not even get to incur a loss. BTC has been the major coin people trade on but it requires patience and perseverance, It is not a quick rich process but when you take your time to study the market and be patient, you could make profit

I think this is not about "which coins should I get" but more about "how do you decide which coin is good" basically a way of saying "do not give me a fish and feed me for a day, teach me how to fish and... fishing is not really that hard". Basically whatever we do to decide which coin is the one we buy is the thing he wants to know about and not the coin we ended up buying, the method we use or basically the path we take, not the end of the journey.
I personally look at the volume first which is very important, liquidity second, the community third, and the team behind it if there is one (like bitcoin don't have one, so there are ones like that out there) at the last because team is not that important, if a coin is really good, it goes way beyond the team, look at litecoin and Charlie Lee for example.

Have to agree with you on this. Litecoin is one of those cryptocurrencies which have been performing better than expected, despite the drawbacks in the algorithm and the technology that supports it. As you pointed out, the biggest advantage with Litecoin has been its team (led by Charlie Lee). The LTC team have been working hard for the past few years to remove the security issues and bugs and as a result they are well ahead of the "third generation" cryptocurrencies such as Cardano and NEO.
