https://aws.amazon.com/education/awseducate/

It appears that you receive a $100 credit if your school is a 'member' educational institution, or $30 if it is not. From what I can tell, all you need is to sign up with your school's email address to create an account. Based on my reading of their tos, you can use these credits towards AWS services.

From what I can tell, you are limited to using your credits towards these services.

You can send to the address in my profile.

If you are wanting to get a promo code to add to your existing account, I found several links with instructions:
https://sites.wustl.edu/neumann/courses/cse427s/resources/aws-education/
https://it.newschool.edu/services/learning-resources/aws-amazon-web-services/claim-your-aws-educate-grant
https://aws.amazon.com/premiumsupport/knowledge-center/add-aws-promotional-code/
Quote
You can add a promotional code to your AWS account by following these instructions:

Open the Credits page of the Billing and Cost Management console.
In the Promo Code box, type the promotional code.
In the box labeled Please type the characters as shown above, type the code.
Choose Redeem.
It appears that you may need to have your .edu email address associated with your amazon account, but this is unclear.

My reading of the TOS of the educational credits is that you are supposed to use the credits for educational purposes, and not 'production' purposes.

Is there a reason why you can't use create a new AWS account to use with the credit?

I believe your AWS account will need to be already created and be using your .edu email address.

first things first.
thanks for helping out

@BitMaxz
i've gone already on all of these posts before posting here.

and no one of them actually worked. even the youtube video,  remember i want to get the 100$  (back then it was 150$) promo code for education (edu), not by really doing any course or faking that i am opening a startup which i dont.

@PrimeNumber7

thats all the purepose of this thread..,
as explained before, when opening an account via starter account u get a 100$ loaded in a starter account which is super super restricted , which i dont want.
i do want to be able to have a regular account with out the restriction with the 100$ in it.
for example if i ecounter a problem in one of my server (for example exception shutdown) i would like to contact aws for that matter i cant because of the restriction of the starter account.
or, for example i would like to know how much i use the server this month (quota), well i cant for the same reason.

this is what i came to understand so far.
after looking online  , take for example this credit promotion name, EDU_ENG_FY2019_IC-Q2_3_150USD
EDU = education account (probably email)
ENG = english (i think global server and not china)
FY = for year (aka 2019)
IC =   ***no idea what is that***
QX = quarter of the month (Q1 Q2 Q3 Q4)
3 = **no idea what is that**
XUSD = the amount of money

or this one EDU_ENG_FY2019_Q4_11_AWSEDUCATE_150USD
which shows u  on this "AWSEDUCATE"

i want to be able to receive the same promotion code.

Just replying to this post to provide an information to you and not to avail any Offer/Reward from your end as per enlisted in your post.

In short and simple language if i have to answer this in one sentence then the short answer is "You won't receive $100 AWS Credit anymore from AWS Educate as they have revised their Terms & Conditions / Policy."

If you need a detailed explanation then you can read below;

So the entire story goes like this, AWS has changed their policy with respect to AWS Educate from December 2019.
All new AWS Educate student members enrolling at member institutions will now receive $100 in AWS usage credit pre-loaded into an AWS Educate Starter account at signup, however you cannot transfer this credit to any other AWS account, you will have to use it.
On the other hand, New student members enrolling at non-member institutions will continue to receive $30 in AWS Promotional Credit pre-loaded into their AWS Educate Starter accounts at signup.

Now you might wonder, why AWS Team did so?
They say that, "We want to make the sign-up process easier for AWS Educate student members with only one account type to choose from instead of two, students no longer need to enter an AWS Account ID or select an account type after registering. They may now go directly into their student portal and enjoy the benefits of AWS Educate. AWS Educate Starter Accounts also come with a capped amount of usage and do not require a credit card to sign up, eliminating the risk of members overspending if a service is not shut off"

A final query clicking in your mind would be, how-come the AWS Credit suppliers are still selling $100 AWS Credit if the credits are no more available?
The answer to this is, this change of policy only affects the new AWS Educate Student Members, all old student members would continue to receive the AWS Credit during their course time-frame that they have enrolled for.
In-fact this is one of the reason that you might have noticed a sudden hike in the price of AWS Credits (Edu) as the stock became less and in future it might also become NIL if AWS Team decides to withdraw this Credit Scheme completely.

So my verdict to this, considering the whole scenario and looking at the positive side of it, this decision from AWS looks fair enough according to me, this would reduce the selling of AWS Credits (Edu) to a greater extent and would also make the life of legit AWS Educate Student Members easier as they don't need to input their AWS Account Number or have a valid Credit Card to explore AWS Services.

Hope so i was able to answer your query in a detailed manner. Cheers!!  Smiley Smiley

hehe,
that did click in my mind, i just saw ur shop , how still seller like u for example still sale edu promo codes or gets them
i mean i did also contacted aws for that, and what they told me were that from 6 of dec they have stoped giving promo code for aws and give pre 100$ loaded account.

i must tell u, that sucks balls, the restriction on a starter account is completely insane .

my new question is tho for u is what do u mean by time-frame , isnt a one code per account and that it ?  or is that one student that get a code every quarder for 4 years ?
how does that work?

Code is annually renewable, like i said it on my post earlier that it is valid for old AWS Educate Student Members until your enrolled course duration expires.

Let's say you enrolled for a 3 years course then you will receive the code 3 times (i.e. 1 code per year) and then it's over.
So whatever codes you see on the market as of now are coming from the annual renewal accounts.

If this continues then the $100 AWS Credit (Educate) System would stop completely in the upcoming 3-5 years, considering the max duration of a course as 5 years.

Well, it has nothing to do with AWS Courses.

When you apply for the AWS Educate (Student) from the following link,
https://www.awseducate.com/registration

You will first select Student followed by inputting your details, this is the exact page where you include those details from which AWS can trace your academic details.

In this case, Graduation Month and Graduation Year is the part i'm referring to, whatever you input over here is assumed as the Month/Year when you pass-out from the School/College, because that text field itself has an information (i.e. Placeholder) stating "Provide the month and year you expect to complete the current degree, program, or course that you are working on"

Currently if you see the Graduation Year field, the maximum year that you can select from there is 2025, so after that year no student would ever receive that $100 AWS Credit (Student), unless AWS revise their policy again in the future.

Like i said earlier, roughly the maximum duration looks like 5 more years from now and then every student enrolling in AWS Educate would only have the AWS Starter Account.

So this is how it works, hope so it's much clearer to you now.

Actually, you can't link that account.

Regular AWS Account won't be eligible for AWS Credits from AWS Educate as the email id should be issued from a School/College domain (i.e. SomeSchool.edu OR SomeCollege.edu)

If it's a regular AWS Student Account (enrolled prior to December 2019), then your friend would continue to receive the $100 AWS Credit as long as his academic year is valid, but again you can't transfer between 2 accounts, the Educate benefits are valid only for the original email id.
Earlier the case was different when the Credit Code was issued, you could use that code on any AWS Account, but with the new policy there is no alternate available other than the Student Starter Account.

At the most you can look for someone who has enrolled for AWS Educate in the recent past when the Credit Code was issued and if you managed to get hands on that Email Id when you would receive the code.

The AWS Credit is visible at the AWS Educate Portal which is accessible at the following link,

If you are okay with using Google Cloud instead of AWS, you could get a 300 credit upon signing up. The credit expires after a year and does not renew, however they do have an ongoing free tier I believe. Your account is not restricted when you sign up to get the credit.
