I haven't done anything strange, so I can't figure out what would have gone wrong.
Same error shows up in bitcoind.

The Bitcoin software, network, and concept is called "Bitcoin" with a capitalized "B". Bitcoin currency units are called "bitcoins" with a lowercase "b" -- this is often abbreviated BTC.

That's a known problem in rc4. A fix was already merged, and will be part of rc5 (which should be ready very soon).
I do Bitcoin stuff.
