What do you think, will Keeping A Record Of Your Losses Will Make You Realize To Stop Gambling? After seeing that you could have bought a new motorbike or buy an expensive watch on all your losses that you have computed.

You see, I have tried this technique in the past with no fruitful results, and it is countereffective many times because once you see how much you have lost, you would want to gamble more to recover them back that's how it all works, because you would stop for a moment or so thinking about your loss and then when the urge will come again, the same resistance will act as a fuel to further gamble xD

I don't really keep a written record but mentally counting my previous losses was actually one of the reasons why I decided to lay low on gambling and set my priorities. We have different ways to look at our losses and some might even see it as an extra motivation to keep going until they win it all back. Others could come up with a different computation like checking net loss from gambling for the month. On the flip side, will keeping a record of your winnings only makes you continue to gamble?

there is a simillar thread on here https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5227963.0 . however the only difference from his thread to yours is he is talking about taxed and he include wins on his listings but here you are only tracking about your losses . tracking looses is bad in my opinion because this makes us lead to being greedy or not contented because we will end up betting again and again just in the hopes of recovering what we already lost and i think its not verry possible to recover them all . i never attempted it but i only gamble win or loss and call it a day

we can use this thread as a reference https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5227963.0 in which answers are being shared about having a spreadsheet or record to be related. and besides i think this will not help Regular or those addicted gamblers to stop, instead the eagerness of winning back again those losses(of course winning is not right term to use in gambling) and will continue giving them a lust that they must win the next time and will cut the losing streak. for me i prefer not to make one,and just make my happiness memorable by fun and not by money.

I've used it to quit smoking by simply calculating the net loss so I'd say it works.

^ If you are in gambling just because of the money you probably need this but if your purpose is to have something fun activity, tracking down your losses is not necessary. I saw a thread last day similar on this thread talking about making a spreadsheet for the purpose of taxes. Probably that is good because you will know how much your losses at the end of the game but there is a disadvantage. You will probably chase your losses and it will cause addiction in gambling. Nevertheless, always remind your self that only gamble of what you can afford to lose.

There may be very few people who are successful using this technique but most people I know who tried it would say it isn't a good way to stop gambling. It may let you think for awhile r stop for a while because you've realized you've lost more than what you expected but in most cases instead of stopping you'll continue and try to recover what you've lost.

Thinking positively, it'll make me work on bettering myself instead of quiting. If I see that my expenses are more than my profit that's, I'm lossing way more than I'm winning then taking a break to better myself will be my next option. The issue with most gambler is the fact they're not open to learning the skills (yes gambling is a skill) instead they give up the moment they aren't getting the result they had expected and the worst part is, they still will return to gambling the moment they get extra fund and still end up losing it. You shouldn't make it a habit to quit at the slightest challenge you encounter, quiting should only be the last option when you have tired everything humanly possible to better your situation but it seems it isn't getting any better.

I think that for most of us it will.If you are doing it everyday and you take into account every single bet or every single session of casino play chances are you will see a negative number rather than a positive one. That is why I don’t keep a record of these statistics because if I saw negative I would stop gambling.

There are people who were helped by this method, and some others this method is useless, so we can say that this method works for others, so we can say that it will work, and people can try this, and see the results who knows this might work for you, you never know unless you try, this method is recommended by some experts but it still depends on the reaction of the gambler.

Calculating the losses doesn't guarantee to make someone aware to quit immediately. It depends on his perception of the losses. If he thinks the losses can harm his family and his future, plus to gamble more just wasting time and efforts, then he can admit quitting. While if he thinks the losses are just the beginning of a big winning and he believes in his capability, then instead he will struggle more and survive.

It won't stop most people from gambling. Several gambling sites nowadays automatically tracks your overall win/loss including the profits. Even though casinos gives out those information to us we still see thousands of gamblers going back to gamble. It'll depend from one person to another if they're willing to change just so they could afford to buy something expensive since i've heard gamblers having different reasons to why they gamble regularly aside from the money.

Maybe yes, and maybe no, because some people will not stop gambling even if they have a big record of losing in the gambling games. We don't need any reason to stop gambling because that will depend on ourselves. If we want to stop, maybe we need to reduce the time we used for gambling first, and then we need to slowly change our habit of gambling until we can stop it right away. If we can stay away from gambling, we can buy many things, including buy new motorbike or expensive watches.

It is a good idea so we the gambler will realize how big our losses already and if we have save it maybe we can buy a house or car already but in my case even if I have history of my losses it is not enough reason for me to stop gambling. Though I am not so sure with others, the reason why it is not enough reason for me to quit gambling is that I didn't gamble for profit instead I only gamble to have fun or when I feel lonely. But for others, I guess it will help them to realize and stop gambling for their benefits.

If it is calculated in the notes about losses then I think it will be big enough to see it especially a gambling addict if we look at the records it will be a little sorry just do not care about the big losses still addicts they have their respective principles so it cannot be sure to improve themselves from addicted to gambling.
Maybe if we look at gambling records from the beginning of more than $ 50k because it does not feel like playing gambling it does not give up and continue to want to try even though it has experienced some fatigue too.

how i wish i have done this before and now,but i am not a writing person meaning i don't usually record things but i love to be objective in real life. but another thing is i am not a regular gambler so why would be needing stuffs like this?but if you are a addicted/maybe this is applicable for realization. I think that for most of us it will.If you are doing it everyday and you take into account every single bet or every single session of casino play chances are you will see a negative number rather than a positive one. That is why I don’t keep a record of these statistics because if I saw negative I would stop gambling.
there is one thread that i have crossed sometime ,in which the OP is recording all His winnings and losses but not for Him to stop but to be aware of His gambling activities .

Probably, but I don't know if this will completely stop addicted gamblers. It doesn't matter if they losses big time already. For them they need it everyday, the adrenaline rush. I have seen this many times in the past, the only way they will stop is that if they went to a severe experience that will simply put a stop on their gambling addictions.

That completely comes down to the person himself/herself. This technique would probably help in a minor way anyway since most of the gamblers are aware of their profits and losses and don't need to write it down to remember it. Helpful technique, but not in a big way.
If a gambler wants to stop gambling, they will simply make it happen some way or another. On the other hand, if they cannot control their addiction, they will never stop no matter what.

i dont think that you can save that much if its not for the sake of gambling . i always hear a gambler that complain like that , they say thier losses are too big that they can buy a stuff like this and that. in gambling you can bet big and you can also win big but the major issue is cashing out, most gamblers dont know how to stop . that is why we end up loosing and the losses can stack up but if you will only save up your money , you can only save small amounts at most so its still take alot of time to buy some decent thing without the help of gambling .
