What do you think, will Keeping A Record Of Your Losses Will Make You Realize To Stop Gambling?
After seeing that you could have bought a new motorbike or buy an expensive watch on all your losses that you have computed.
I'm not tracking it but I can compute what I spent for gambling and I knew it already that I need to stop.

Gambling for me isn't worth to spend my money with. There are other things that I can do to spend my money and gambling isn't one of it. I didn't kept a record of my total losses in gambling because it will give me additional stress but base on my computation, I know that I need to stop already because there is no good future in gambling.

I wish that some of the gamblers try to compute their losses and they must realize how much money they are losing in gambling.

I don't think so,

Recording your losses will only give you the urge to play even more. Seeing how much you lose from gambling is just telling yourself of how much you should need to take back.

Also, I don't think that recording your losses is what we neeed, if realization is what we are looking for, work hard for the money. You will realize that burning that money in gambling will be your biggest regret.

No. Keeping a record won't even help you to stop gambling. Even if you realized that you could bought an expensive thing or even a new car for yourself, it doesn't make you to stop. The worst thing that might happen is maybe it gives you eagerness to play and win more and that will lead you to lose more.

I think keeping a record of your losses will affect you, especially if you suffer a major loss that will make you addicted,If you feel remorse for your actions, it is best to forget about them in another way. Do not try to keep a record of your future regret. In the event that if you are an addict and are subject to continuous losses, you must change the strategy you rely on if you spend a lot of money on gambling. Try to avoid that!!!

It depends on the person if they will make a record of the losses and winnings after day but i think there is no people who is take down notes or making a spreadsheet about their losses in order for them to just monitor how much they have already lost from gambling. To be honest if you will take down all of that notes you will just get all of the losses because in gambling there is always a high percentage on having a losses than winnings but if you are a regular gambler then probably you will not be able to stop on gambling just because you have been realized that you are having a hard losses everyday you play.

I think not that's just what gambling is for real gamblers because it may take them as their motivation to get back the losses and I don't think it's really a wise decision to record all your losses because it will really affect the way you want to gamble. Not all you've only got losses at least keep track as well on your winnings and made some analysis over it for future use like for a week or month how much did you lose/win everyday.

It is always advisable to gamble what you can afford to lose and if it has been done you can't do about it, a good thing if you manage to profit from it rather than just letting it lose.

Before I gamble, I already knew that gambling is addictive and most of the people ruined their lives because of this. But I still tried it and experienced it so that to know if it really can ruined people's lives. It is true that gambling will just give us headache and stress if we're not lucky in a certain day and it is very difficult to retrieve the losses that you had. Gambling is not a source of profit, it is not that easy to manipulate money when you're in that situation. Recording and making a gambling history will help you monitor the range of your losses and the maximum money you've spent playing and then suddenly you will realize that gambling just brought you disappointments.

You got a point there mate, however, it still depends on the content of your record Grin. If the losses you counted are significantly greater than the profits you earned then you might really come to the point of stopping but if the opposite happened then for sure you might not even think of it. Gambling is riskier than what you think mate, if you are weak hearted then stop once and for all so that you will not gp through stress and frustrations in the first place Smiley.

If I'd do that and keep a table of my expenses for entertainment, then I guess I'd be utterly disappointed on how much I spent on movies for a year compared to how much I have lost in gambling. I rarely gamble nowadays though there are times which I have this "I should have" moments and think of something that I could have bought had I stopped playing on that instant. Either way, it satisfies my gambling heed and helped me get entertained for a few hours so why would I get disappointed anyway?

Besides, the point of gambling is profit and entertainment, and you can't find both co-existing anywhere but only on gambling games.

Some gamblers are playing for the feeling, they don't care if they lose or win big amounts they just want the excitement and the adrenaline rush like when they are playing their favorite sports, or watching a suspense movie, they pay for having this kind of feelings whatever the amount is.

I think it's better to forget your losses than to keep a record of it. I don't have an exact one but I do have a tentative loss of about 0.2 BTC in gambling in the last couple of years.
And everytime I think of that, I tend to bet more to recover my loss. And even though I have small wins now and then, I don't keep a record of that and stick with the figure of 0.2BTC.

I really doubt it would stop people from gambling.

Most people know that addictive gambling will ruin them, and that they have already lost a crazy amount of money, I don't think seeing the numbers would change much.

Just how most people continue to smoke even after getting lung cancer—they just can't stop!

Not a guaranteed working solution towards your addiction. This kind of goal or activity will just either make you stop or play even more. Why? When you do saw that you have lost too much, of course there would be a time that you would thought that you should keep playing and you might able to take those losses back or recover which is really a possible mindset that you would encounter along the way.
So i say that listing out your losses is useless and if you do play just for fun then this wont really be an issue yet you are willing to spend or lost those money to gambling in the first place.

It would be possible for all those gamblers that are not addicted so much in gambling, like me, if I know that I am already losing my money in betting, I prefer to stop it, than to take the risk anymore, thinking that I will turn back the funds that have failed, but I think it won't be enough to stop all those addicts on gambling, and for sure they won't keep their record of losing the game, that is impossible. It may trigger them to play more gambling because they will hope that they will turn back the money that has failed. That is the problem for all those addicts on gambling, on which they cannot think well because they are only focused on gambling.

You see, I have tried this technique in the past with no fruitful results, and it is countereffective many times because once you see how much you have lost, you would want to gamble more to recover them back Tongue that's how it all works, because you would stop for a moment or so thinking about your loss and then when the urge will come again, the same resistance will act as a fuel to further gamble xD
Indeed, knowing your losses in gambling could be an urge for you to play more gamble because you will have a feeling that you may still win the game, but when you still betting every day, your money lost will keep increasing. So I suggest that you stop it as soon as possible to prevent losing a significant amount of your money.

Well you can do track your win/loss record, but as to give you some benefits to make you stop gambling? I don't think so, on the contrary it might give you the impression to chase that loss. Sometimes I also thought of lots of 'what if's', what if I didn't gamble and chooses to save so that I can buy my favourite expensive watch? The answer is still the same, no regrets from gambling loss, it's just part of the game.

And if you ask a fellow gambling how much they lose? they will not tell the truth, and will say break even or barely up by few. Probably the best use of tracking our win/loss is for tax purposes, but other than that, I can't see any pros of doing it.

Not a bad suggestion. A lot of people snap out of bad habits when they can see the numbers and the effect of what they've been doing, and this isn't much different. I actually did something very similar to this when I would waste money on unnecessary spending about two years ago, and this largely made me change my spending habits as a whole and helped me to make monetary decisions in a different way than before.

Besides just recording these losses and thinking about what you could've bought with the money, spend some money on yourself too and feel the joy you get from that. These things resonate much more deeply when you can feel it.

I really don't think it's the case though bro.

Think about it, look at obese people. They are almost certainly aware that they are severely overweight, if they step on a scales it will be made painfully apparant, while even looking in the mirror there would be no avoiding it.

And yet these people continue to overeat, not simply because they're not aware of what they're doing to themselves, but because they lack the self control to stop.

Problem gambling is no different IMO.

Such simple strategy will really give you a rundown of your gambling habits. And know what is the impact on your financial situation by looking the amount of your losses. However, on my end, since I am not really a big timer in gambling, I don't record my losses as I only gamble small amount from time to time so I consider it extra extra money for me, considered lost already. But for those who are really allotting money just for their gambling, I guess it is time for them to jot down their numbers and see if it will change how they gamble next time.

What do you think, will Keeping A Record Of Your Losses Will Make You Realize To Stop Gambling?
After seeing that you could have bought a new motorbike or buy an expensive watch on all your losses that you have computed.

I'm seeing another way around.

If gamblers will record all of their losses and realized that those amounts can now buy an expensive thing they want, it will just lead to more gambling activity to chase those losses since they regretted losing it. They will now have a target to get back those losses and will decide to stop once they achieved it although it's impossible as there is no way they can recover all their losses easily.

And I don't see the essence of computing all my losses. Instead, I will more be focused on improving my strategy to maintain winnings.
