Hi All, a friend send me a message with info about a new token name NLC (Night Light Coin) with domain nlccoin.com But the condition to receive the token airdrop is have to transfer ETH to this address: 0x36afEe66EA8d6a99A9c6c7e676D512eA4A19bC83 I'm not sure if this project is real or from any scammer to cheat everyone. Please give me some advice Thank you
Never heard of Night Light Coin. But, airdrops are supposed to be free coins you receive on your wallets after you register or complete certain task. You don't have to pay anything for it. Either your friends account got hacked and the hacker is trying to scam everyone on his list, or your friend does not know what he is doing. Either way, you should alert your friend about it. Even if you do wish to proceed (which I would strongly advise not to!), make sure you do proper research about the project.

Hey, what are you trying to say? What's your definition for small and large ETH? Imagine demanding for 0.001 ETH and 1000 participants sends to them, that's a full ETH (1 ETH). Gas fee for sending tokens is so cheap and very cheap when sending in batch. I scanned the wallet address on etherscan and to my suprise, there are incoming transactions of 0.01 ETH which I'm sure that's the amount demanded. We should not let greed take over us because they promise space and moon. Every ETH sent to them counts. Here is also a telegram channel known to have always shared airdrops like the one OP mentioned. https://t.me/AirdropDetective , the channel is very fond of this and I'm sure it's associated with this scammers and helps in promoting them.

Airdrops are totally free. If you are required to send ETH then you should think twice. There are lots of legit airdrops. Don't be fooled by some old tactics to fool traders and investors.

It'll be easier to tell about that if you were give us more source. And it's depend on that how much ETH they offered you. If they were offer you little amount eth for gas price then may be it's ok other than it's doubt able. I saw that coin in CMC, if they are running an airdrop then you can easily ask their Telegram group Chat 1 and Chat 2. If you didn't find any announcement there about airdrop then better choice stay away from it.

Please do avoid this kind of activity,
Airdrops should be free, no airdrops that is legit are requiring bounty hunters to pay first. If any of them request every participants to send any amount of eth as a fee to receive the airdrop, don't be fooled and immediately stay your distance away from those kind of airdrop.

Airdrops are free, do not send your ethereum to the address you provided. I have participated in many airdrops before and base on my experience, most of the airdrops that ask everyone to send any payment is a scam. Most of the time, even if you send the amount required and received your airdrop, the token will have no value in the market.

To begin with, any airdrop or bounty that requires you to send them money first before they send you tokens, is a NO, NO. On no reason, should any project request for eth, private keys or other sensitive stuffs to issue out an airdrop token. Be careful, whatever form, links and sites at which you get airdrops from. DYOR

As far as I know if a project has an airdrop they will not ask ETH to give you a token. But there are indeed a number of projects or airdrops which require paying ETH for the token fees but not in large amounts. If the NLC asks for a large amount or whatever it's better you don't send it because after all the airdrop is free.

If it is a token of airdrop, I don't think there is any need to worry as long as we don't provide the private key. If you can register on the exchanger and have a good price, I think it should be grateful and not have to worry about the token being a scam or not. It's different if we invest because we need deep research

What do you mean? You need to send eth before they give you the airdrop? This is a scam for sure. Airdrop are suppose to be free. If they ask something as an exchange for it, this is completely a scam. Do not just give your ETH address to this kind of stuff because there is also a possibility that they can hack you.

Yes, I have also participated in several legitimate airdrop programs, and they did not ask anything from the participants, so we can immediately assess if there is an airdrop program that asks for a number of ETH from the participants, then it is purely SCAM.

That's not an airdrop. Its called selfdrop, usually this method has been lurking the forum since then. The process where they set up smart contract for tokens to be sent depends on the eth that you send on their token contract. People should be aware of this and dont be confuse from a giveaway since its a type of crowdfunding activity that involves direct payment and receiving od tokens right away.

I am not sure But I think it is 99% scam
These are tricks they use mate, together with a couple of others I would try and list here. 1. Some might plead that you help them withdraw their funds from an exchange platform and they would give you a portion of it (most likely a decent amount to lure you) 2. Others would show you tricks on a Casino platform and how they can make you win. The evidences he/she would show will surely be true but do not fall for this as well, they will take away your money. 3. Some would also tell you that the funds are for gas fees, this is also scam! Ask yourself, which decent project does not have just $100 to use as gas fees in the development of their project. I would add more as they come in mind, need to hit the road to run some errands for the wife!

You are not participating in IEO or public sale so I wonder why you would think of sending your ETH in exchange for a token, an Airdrop token for that matter, which probably might not be listed nor have any value nor any good thing to offer at all. This is a cheap scam, therefore don't send any ETH rather delete the message because it won't end well. Good airdrops don't require your Eth rather it requires you carrying out some tasks after which you are sent the Airdrop token, so any airdrop asking for payment before sending the token is a scam.

Use your common sense and you will know the answer, first of all what it is an airdrop? And airdrop is when the developers of a project distribute for free their coins to people that support that coin, the keyword here is free, they are asking you for a payment and as such it is not an airdrop anymore, and since they are doing this in an underhanded way most likely this is a scam, so forget about that project and do not send them money or your personal information.

Personally, I think the INEL project is a very good and promising project. Since the project has a lot of information available and you can easily pay or buy tokens of this project. You can also contact the project manager and he will help in any matters related to the purchase of tokens.
