This is what he apparently said, though I'm not positive where it was taken from. It looks like a Slack chat room.

“The first BTC seizure by courts will occur this year. Not with keys. By miners (nodes) acting to fulfill a court order. Without keys, BTC will be confiscated. Code is law, and courts can mandate patching code. Bitcoin is not encrypted. It is economic.”

Not exactly in line with the whitepaper, is it?

Maybe now that he's spent so much time in court, Faketoshi believes himself to be some sort of legal expert.  Next he'll provide "proof" he's a judge.   Roll Eyes

Can someone not just have him sectioned already?  The man is clearly not well.

Not at all possible, either. Good luck with some UK court forcing half of the miners in the world to validate an invalid transaction and also getting all the nodes in the world to go along with it.

If this was really possible, the trust that users have over Bitcoin will disappear really fast, thus the Bitcoin price will go down to 1USD,therefore the court will confiscate something worthless, which doesn't make any sense.
Anyway, the hypothesis of faketoshi is technically impossible to happen. He is just FUDing against Bitcoin Core again.Noting usual. He does this every day,for about 3 years,AFAIK.Can't we just ignore him for a while?

It's even difficult for the bitcoin team to bring together miners to decide for an improvement. I highly doubt miners would be convinced to roll back everytime a court rules them to. Miners are not a centrally registered industry and even if we are able to track and contact 51% of miners, they are not bound to follow the court rules that are not coming through their jurisdiction. And rolling back are always a financial loss to the miners.

This is the beauty of decentralization. Let's say you are a miner in China and US court is telling you to enforce some rules of them. You can just throw them a middle finger.

Craig Wright is bluffing. No court has the right to decide on bitcoin as a whole in relation to the funds in its wallets. If the dispute concerns property rights, then the courts are not entitled to make decisions that violate the rights of an indefinite number of owners. Therefore, the statements of Craig Wright are baseless. The court may take certain measures if Wright proves that he is Satoshi Nakamoto. I think this will never happen.

Good luck finding all Bitcoin miners within your jurisdiction to slam them with a court order.
Let's put it this way: Satoshi is much smarter and created Bitcoin exactly so this won't happen!

Craig Wright seems to think so

Craig Wright is bluffing.

Calling it "bluffing" is far too generous.  A bluff is when you deceive someone into thinking you are going to do something.  So if people know that thing can't actually be done, as is the case here, it's not really a bluff.

Call it "bullshit", because that's all it is.

at this point the only reason why Craig Scammer Wright is continuing with his new bullshit is that people keep paying attention to his bullshit. example is this topic, there really isn't any reason why we should even be talking about this obvious scammer. same goes with news sites who keep on quoting his nonsense every week with new one.

Craig Wright was saying that he knows about critical bug in Bitcoin that will destroy it, along with other outlandish claims like how Bitcoin will be dumped, but we all know that nothing like that happened, and it's pretty clear that nothing will happen this time - he's just spreading FUD. And I doubt any western court would issue such judgement, they aren't interesting in dealing with cryptocurrency as practice shows, and they would understand that it can't be realistically enforced because of Bitcoin's global nature.

Not exactly in line with the whitepaper, is it?
Yeah, no.  Not at all.

But this is just speculation on his part, and the courts would have to exercise enormous power in order to get miners to do what he's proposing--more power than they probably have.  Plus I'm not sure if miners in China would think they're bound by a US court order (if I'm understanding this correctly).  Miners sure as hell wouldn't do it voluntarily.

Plus I don't think the legal system would in effect destroy bitcoin in order to settle a single case.  They'd be doing more harm than good, and I have to think that they'd see that.  Anyway, I think this is a bunch of BS anyway and yes it's FUD in the extreme.  CW is very wacky to say the least.

When the miner attempts to roll back the blockchain, the price would likely crash and the amount of Bitcoins and the ASICs that they have would instantly have zero value. It isn't easy for legal power to have such an effect on miners; I don't think laws could force miners to do things that they don't want to.

Craig isn't very smart at all and I doubt he considered the possibility of all the courts reaching the same decision unanimously in the first place.

It's Faketoshi himself. They're calling it Metanet (https://metanet.icu/) and you even have to get a paid membership in order to listen to his delusional rambling. Sounds exactly like something Satoshi would do /s.

Just when you think that CW can't say anything dumber and that his followers can't be that stupid you see a post like this and just shake your head.
It's like just ignore reality and keep living in their bubble.

Lets see the courts in any county force world wide miners to do something. Yeah, that will work.....NOT.
