Try not to discard your old computers, phones and other important gadgets

My advice to people especially those in crypto world:  your used gadgets should be gathered together, (probably wrapped with something that can shield them from EMP & other potential harms) and stored somewhere safe in a decentralized manner. You could store them in such a way that you can occasionally back them up with important data from computers, phones or gadgets  you use on daily basis

Time will come when they will be very valuable to decentralized world.

*You could always sell some or give them away especially if you have excess in your backup.

i got your point mate and this is  very practical advice since we really don't know what will happen to our crypto activities and at some point in future all the device we used in past may be use as back up from our old activities.

so yeah i will do this advice personally as i have already 2 gadgets that is not functional now so i decide to buy new one.

Thank you so much for such wonderful advice We should all be careful about these That's why we try not to ruin our old computers phones and other important gadgets They often do our most burdensome damage We can buy new ones without discarding them. Or better check before selling if there are any backup files If not then we can hack our ID at any time.

Personally I wouldn't advise anyone to sell their used gadgets which used to save your data earlier because its possible to recover data even after complete wipeout so consider for complete destroyal or just recycle it so only some parts will be used not the entire phone.

When shit hits the fan,the first thing to go will be electricity.  Few people have the knowledge to set up their own power generation.

Sometimes I prefer to sell my stuff because it's waste of money and resources to keep old stuff unused
But I keep one or another device,  like old smartphone to store my authenticator 2FA and a multi wallet for altcoins, or an old netbook to store my BTC wallet, totally offline. This way I can re-utilize old gadgets and be safer because the device will remain in home

You could buy lots of cheap fairly-used devices actually. I don't know about other places, but where I live there are people/businesses that sell really cheap old/used devices. They usually buy used bad/good computers, fix them and sell for really cheap price. Better to go directly to them(if such thing exist where you live) and buy in bulk. They usually give few months (3-5 from my experience) guarantee.

yeah in my country there is also something like this mate in which i also bought in past my extra laptop and my Sons PC as their product is already tested by my friends and also the warranty is 1 year and sometimes they give you 2 years enough for us to prove the quality.
and also we can upgrade it in time that we have budget ,and i am telling them that i will Give them much better if they study more and prove they deserve a brand new one.

I have already discarded my very old computer and it was the old system unit that has the diskette slot. It's too old and I can't keep it anymore because it's no longer functioning.

I don't have time to fix it and I'm not a sentimental guy during the time that I have sold it. But today, I've realized that it's a vintage computer and there must be some functions and use that I can use it in the future but I have to move on.

I still save my Pentium 3 in my room, but I think I need to replace the power supply and ram because it's too difficult to find the old one from the local store. I hope that someday, I can get that. I still have the old phone that I bought from my first payment when I was an employee in the past, and I don't want to see that phone is damage.

This advice is one that shouldn't be taken lightly at all. I lost a document which I saved to an old laptop that I haven't used for a long and I gave it out. I know how much I lost cos of that

I would still recommend that the Blockchain/decentralized communities start doing that ^. The more people, the better.


Please save the used old ones, and not buying up the new ones and making things hard for others to buy. No matter how wealthy you are, just stick to saving your used ones or buy the bad ones and get people fix them.

Some of us already connected on the internet and get a lot of computer and gadgets after the time some of them broke and not become useful but here is the thing about proper disposal
. If you have electronic gadgets and devices if there is a memory card or chip store it if you think you can use those in the future if you have a computer store your hard drive or ant storage devices. If you have a mobile phone keep into the cloud or memory card. And give it to the electronics company so they can dispose of it properly because of you do it by your self it can cause harm to other people because it has an electric charge even it is already off.
