I don't think reporting google ads is enough. We don't really know if the advertisement has been processed or they taken action.
In any case, it's better to report it than ignore it and think that someone else will do it, or think
"it can't hurt me, I just don't care about others". What is important is to have as many reports as possible, because then Google will react sooner -

I totally agree that prevention is a better solution, but reports are also some way to prevent people to fall into the trap, since most browsers will automatically block malicious pages. As for plugins and extensions, I would personally recommend not downloading anything that has to do with crypto unless you are 100% sure it is a legitimate plugin.
