What is the best way to solo mine my altcoin for free?

I've made an altcoin. I've been solo-mining using setgenerate true. I get about 5k hashes per sec. I know, it sucks. I told my brother in law about it and he started mining it. He gets ~50k hashes per sec. This increased the difficulty by almost 5x. So Instead of getting 5k of my coin per day, I'm now getting around 1k. I'd like to use more efficient software to mine my coin. How can I do this? Thanks in advance

I don't have an AMD or NVIDIA, I have an Intel i915. I'm trying to mine for free.

You didn't state what algo you made your altcoin. However it doesn't really matter.

So your daily supply is 5K per day correct? So whether the total hashrate is 5kh/s or 500kh/s the daily supply will always be capped. My advice, tell your brother to stop mining and you can mine at ANY speed and get your 5K per day. Then you stop mining and tell your brother to mine at any speed and he will get 5K per day. Since you two are the only ones mining, this is the easiest and cost-free solution.

The difficulty adjust just to keep the daily supply constant and its not really related to any speed. You can be the only one mining at 1h/s and get 5K coins per day or mine at 1TH/s and get 5K coins perday.

Also, I'm wondering, since the difficulty isn't going down, what are my options on increasing my hps? I looked into cgminer but I don't know if that's the solution.

What algo are you using exactly? SHA256D, Scrypt? Using cgminer would be much quicker than the built-in miner. Also which coin did you clone this from?

The reason the difficulty is still 5x and not going down because your coin has to mine a certain number of blocks before the difficulty retargets down. For Bitcoin its 14 days. It takes the average hashrate for the last 14 days worth of blocks and re-evaulates whether it needs a new difficulty or not.

Just keep mining and eventually after a day or so , it will go down. Any reason why you are doing this?
