Coronavirus and it’s impact on sporting events - please add

Damn. With all majority sporting events getting postponed, Saturdays will become more boring than usually. It's like all weekends are now international breaks. Today, there was no matches to keep me engaged. That said, I hope that the impact of the Coronavirus pandemic is limited and stopped – if possible, majority of infected persons recover.  From the look of things, it looks like it'll get more critical than it is currently. Let's hope things return back to normalcy soon.

China and South Korea has made an impressive progress in containing the virus and we could soon see them hosting their local sporting events. Japan could be the next with the similar expertise which is also going to host the olympics 2020. Even though Japan be ready in time, it would still be difficult to host a global event while rest of the globe is in panic.

I think this is a very good approach and other sports governing bodies could also see this option. Players can still play and people can still enjoy the match at their home on TV screen or on you tube live streams.

This is happening everywhere as public gatherings are not recommended at current times. Conducting Sporting events is very risky and therefore we are seeing a lot of tournaments getting delayed or postposed. Premier league matches are most effected by it and all of them have been postponed till further notice. There is nothing much anyone can do about it, other than to wait.

I also see the match has an empty audience on television because the government tells that the game starts without an audience. No wonder that the player is not playing as usual because they feel that the stadium is too big for them. But in some countries, the local league has been cancel because of Corona, and there is no clear statement when the match will continue. We hope that Corona Virus can be solved, and the vaccine will be found.

Even better than a game being cancelled, at least PSL were able to continue and play according to schedule and those people who are quarantine at home, they'll be enjoy watching the game and of course they will enjoy more because they can bet through online sports betting.

After Lithuanian, same thing did Belgian basketball league

In consultation with Basketball Belgium the Pro Basketball League has decided today to cancel the EuroMillions Basketball league in first division due to the coronavirus. This decision was made in order to protect the health of players, clubs and fans and to halt the spread of the virus based on the government’s recent decisions.
FILOU Oostende is proclaimed champion and the current standings will serve for the allocation of the European tickets. In order to allow our clubs to prepare for next season following this decision, the granting of the licences has been postponed until 15 May.

I think that we can expect similar thing in some other sports too, especially if some team has huge lead and is almost certain that they would win the title. In European football a lot of things will depend on decision whether European Championship is cancelled or not, and if postponed, when it will be. Some rumours on Telegraph even said Euro might go on during December.

There are so many events in the world that are no cancelled because of covid-19 to prevent of spreading, so that the only way to prevent it is to avoid the crowd/many people because it is the fastest way in spreading the virus. Stay safe everyone and let's fight the virus.

Being a cricket fan I was following the Corona virus news since sometime and already the ODI series between India vs South Africa (cricket) has been decided to be played in an empty stadium which is in itself a historic decision.

Moving forward I heard that IPL might be cancelled as well for this year and there are rumors that a lot of other cricket events are being cancelled and there are some tennis opens that are now cancelled because of the Corona fear and to avoid public gatherings.

I appreciate such measures but being a sports fan and bettor I am really upset with the delays and cancellation of events.

The World Health Organization (WHO) have stated that pandemic corona virus is a dangerous plague so they ask to all president on this world to warn up to raise the outbreak as a national emergency that must be taken seriously. Like in my country, the government has taken a step to dismiss all activities of the government and stoping all activities that involve a lot of people (including footbal event). Provably majority of them will close down there games temporarily since its been advice by WHO to avoid crowded places and for incident that there are NBA player who transmit the virus to his teammate for sure the temporary closed down will be imposed, and we shouldn't get sad for that and think positive on this since we can watch their plays again once the virus will be controlled and vanished away.

Here in India, we have well over a dozen sports channels and most of the time there will be multiple cricket matches being broadcast live on various channels. But for the last few days, the only live action I have been able to follow has been the PSL of Pakistan. All the other cricket matches have been either cancelled or postponed. The BCCI have postponed the IPL (world's largest T20 league) by almost a month and they have cancelled all of the domestic matches.

Now there is almost no activity in the crowd because to prevent this corona virus, including sports where many viewers will be postponed until the situation recovers and for school almost all of it is vacated because the situation is increasingly tense and some work is increasingly hampered, so now don't it's too much to watch NBA or other sports, it's better for us to be able to stay clear of what we can to avoid the corona virus.
All sports will return within the next few months including gambling with other contacts as well.

I first known about NBA being suspended but I knew other league and sports will be affected, and now here it is and definitely we can expect that more and more will be affected on this corona virus pandemic. A little suggestion, you can also add some link of the source info.

You will find the link above useful for the same reason, by the way I believe there should be a better managed OP for all the events with references and maybe the delayed events can be also listed with possible re-scheduled dates.
