Whilst supermarket shelves are being denuded of loo tolls, tinned tomatoes, soap, and other non-perishables, the fresh food seems to be being ignored. I've just bought some boxes of 12 free range eggs for 10 pence, and yesterday I bought a load of stuff including easpberries for 12 pence per box, and family sized boxes of mushrooms for 9 pence. The cost of living is extremely low for me during this virus pndemic..

I'm tempted to start a few cooking threads about low cost meals.

Chances of corona virus present on fresh vegetables or any food items is extremely high so people ignoring it so you are taking risk on your life dude.Anyway if you cook and boil the things well then there will be no more virus.

I feel so bad for the owners of one of my local supermarket. A couple of months ago they had to close down because there was a problem with a wall or something, and so didn't past an inspection, and then this Corona thing hits. Business would had been booming. It's like missing out during a crypto boom.

This is the sad part because people seems to hoarding processed products than fresh foods this is same situation in our supermarket yesterday since the government declares the Community Quarantine today so people panicked and reacted exaggerating.

Fresh foods seems to be ignored while canned goods and noodles has been out of stocks.

Today i am planning to make foods from fresh that can last for at least a month being in freezer.

Are you living alone? if so that's an advantage for you because you don't have to budget for other family members. Unlike the other breadwinners, they have to budget for the whole family and they might even sacrifice their favorite meals because of tight budget.

And when you cook, make sure that you will cook them properly and avoid eating raw foods for the meantime. Well, you can eat as long as you will clean and wash it thoroughly.

Easy, tasty, unhealthy, filling, attractive foods normally attract lots of people.. That's probably why fruits(and sometimes vegetables) markets or sections  don't usually get alot of patronage, and they're not as common as junk/"not-too-healthy" foods markets, supermarkets and shops.
 Hope the fruits/vegs are organic... There are lots of "factory made fruits" popping up where I stay these days.
