I am just curious.
If the platform is 100% free, how do you guys then earn from the project?
Yes as it has already been answered, our motive is primarily developing useful software and less about profits. Would be good if we can cover expenses and bug bounties through donations, although we have low overhead and intend to keep things going no matter what. We might add revenue streams later on, but only for nonessential stuff like installation service or premium support. All software will always be free and the setup guide is easy to follow even for non-technical people.
I must say that I'm a bit skeptical though. They're trying to achieve exactly what OpenBazaar is offering.
You're right we have very similar goals as OpenBazaar, but take a different approach design-wise. OnionBazaar Stores are built on Woocommerce, we explain why in our FAQ:
https://onionbazaar.org/?p=faq&t=wordpressWe don't really see OB as competition, as multiple protocols and implementations increase decentralization and resiliency of sovereign trade in general. Bitcoin at its current stage is far from being zero-sum, 99% of todays commerce uses permissioned payment providers and is mostly trading on centralized marketplaces. We believe increased crypto adoption and interoperability between different systems is the way to go and beneficial for everybody.
It cannot be accessed, buddy?
You use TOR, right?
