There was a similar topic of mine which was posted about the same for receiving response on the renaming 2 months back in January. The topic was little misleading and was cumbersome to understand at the beginning and didn't evoke much interest among the members. Just requoting some parts of the topic for better response!

For quite some time, I have been unhappy about the minimal and confused usage of Child Boards here in the Indian local board. For example if someone comes up with a Scam Accusation on a particular Indian website or to solve their doubts regarding the reputation of an Indian website they don’t really have a board to post their queries apart from the main board. The Child Board Buyer/ Seller Reputations (India) seems to be useful only for posting the reputation of a trader or a particular person in detail and doesn’t seem to be useful for discussing about the reputation of an Indian company or something similar. Hence I would like to propose a solution for the situation by renaming the board to Scams Accusations / Reputations (India) instead of Buyer/ Seller Reputations (India).

Need thoughts and a Serious Discussion on this topic so that if many of us agree to this, we can suggest the proposal to theymos for renaming the board!

Apart from the above mentioned thoughts, I would also like to pitch a proposal on the Languages being used there. Probably since they are related to scams and reputations we could allow all the regional languages to be present there instead of reporting and moving those topics to Regional Languages board and limiting the board just for English posts

In my opinion, though the above solution has no flaws and can be implemented on our board, I think it would be more better if we could have an additional child board for "Scams and Accusations". If we have separate child boards for both of these then it would be more clutter free and threads will be on topic.

The point to note here is that adding up an extra child board would require more work for Theymos than to just rename the existing board.
It would be easier to just rename the child board and will require less time to do it. So we have to consider this point and make the required approach.
For me, anything would be okay since people will still have a place to post their threads in the child board.

Noble thought! But I see that majority of the child boards are almost dead. Even though we have some recent threads but the number of replies are really discouraging. At this point, I don't know how much usefull it will be, but it's good to have a place to discuss about scams in India. Only time will tell if it is useful for the fellow members.

But most importantly, I think we need a moderator for India board.

...snip...
The fact is that the Indian population in this forum is quite disappointing. Our people tend to run for free money but most of them never really contribute to any of the global topics in a positive way. This is probably the reason our citizens have a very short stay in this forum while comparing to global language speakers. There are only quite a handful of users still roaming here for 5-7 years and contributing in a positive way.

The Buyer/Seller Reputation board on the other hand has been used as a place to identify scammers and scams happening over in India. But my thought is that the current naming doesn't seem to go quite good for the purpose behind the board. Regarding the appointment of a moderator I believe theymos has completely ruled out that idea until there he sees a major traction here in the Indian local board in the form of posts and unhandled reports. The board is lacking in posts and so does the reports. If the report queue rises in number and if that situation post a problem to global mod by never handling those reports, theymos will look into the appointment strategies I guess.

Yes, you are right. Scam Accusations section is better than having Buyers/Sellers Reputation. I don't think many Indians deal on forum and even if they do, Scam Accusation will cover that alongside other kinds of scam. Nice suggestion, proceed and we will support. How are you plannig to propose, via Meta section?

Apart from the above mentioned thoughts, I would also like to pitch a proposal on the Languages being used there. Probably since they are related to scams and reputations we could allow all the regional languages to be present there instead of reporting and moving those topics to Regional Languages board and limiting the board just for English posts

That goes without saying. It doesn't make much sense to generalize topics just because they are written in language other than English. Scam accusations in regional languages should also be posted in Scam Accusation section.

It is really worrying that people from India doesn't have enough knowledge on cryptos compared to others, even most popular economist don't understand what is cryptos and they are mentioning that bitcoin is internet money and it can be created if you know coding so don't believe on them.

Maybe there are more Indians are active here but they forgot about their nationality and just roam around the main boards only. Huh

Yes. That's true! I usually offer few seats in my car through a car pooling app while going to office everyday. For few days, I tried to strike a conversation with them regarding cryptocurrecnies. To my surprise, 90% of them are unaware of it. Remaining 10% have heard of bitcoin but they think it is banned in India. I had to mention to them that SC had lifted the ban but they had a very little interest on it. Remember, these people are the educated class of India and have a white collar job in some MNCs or big corporates. If this is the situation of awareness, then think what is the situation of the mass! More awareness is needed about cryptos!

Guys, don't you think we are going a little off topic here. The thread is about renaming the child board and not about awareness of Indians towards crypto.

BTCump. A few more thoughts which just pumped in, can we have the board renamed to Trading and within them have childboards like Reputation and Scam Accusations similar to the global boards? The trading board could be used for creating topics based on trading with INR pairs, buying BTC through INR and having similar stuffs etc along with the discussion of local bitcoin prices.

Please note that the current state of the Indian board was the one created by Benson way back in 2014-2015 and we should be updating them as years progresses. Having them the same for years would kill the productivity of newbies who are willing to learn bitcoin.

So the Indian board will have a child board  'Trading Discussion' which will have two child boards 'Reputation' and 'Scam Accusations'.
Sounds good to me. Looks clean and clear.

Trading Discussion -> Scam Accusations, Reputation. This sounds better as the Marketplace is already for currency and goods, digital goods exchange so under trading section we could have similar child boards like we have in the main board. I would suggest a Legal board too like the French section instead of posting everything in the News section and many times such articles/threads are posted in the main section of the Indian board.
