Its most probably your PSU.
What cards are you running and which PSU do you have?

Seems odd. I'm running a 6970 on a VS450 and it runs fine.

It could be issues with your drivers maybe. Try uninstalling and installing fresh 13.12 drivers.

A 270x def uses less power than a 6970 and mine works fine on a VS450 so I don't think thats an issue.

Try BAMT or SMOS linux. No drivers required for mining.

May be try upgrading your PSU since 270x can atmost take 280w and your other stuff accounts for 100w. If PSU has eff of 80% which is 360 w. That is why your PSU is unable to give power to card while mining at full load.
