Calling the Bitcoin community to help battle COVID-19

Bitcoin is a nationwide currency and I hope that it is easy to collect donations through bitcoins because it is a digital money so that it was easy to transfer money to other currencies. All hospitals and front liners are need those donations because many of them has a scarcity with their equipment so that the other front liners have been infected of the virus just because of the scarcity of their personal protective equipment.

Well, I do share battling COVID by staying at home and just follow what the government says about time management of just when to go out.
Also sharing this with my family so that they will stay at home keep themselves safe and their neighbors.

How does it work?
You simply download Folding@Home and use your unused CPU/GPU power to analyze data from Stanford.

What happens with the data?
Folding@home is run by an academic institution (specifically the Pande Group, at Stanford University’s Chemistry Department), which is a nonprofit institution dedicated to science research and education. We will not sell the data or make any money from it. Moreover, we will make the data available for others to use. In particular, the results from Folding@home will be made available on several levels. Most importantly, analysis of the simulations will be submitted to scientific journals for publication, and these journal articles will be posted on the web page after publication.

Following the publications of these scientific articles, we will make the raw data of the folding runs available to other researchers upon request. The data sets from some of our most prominent simulations are already publicly available. We’ve also striven to share our key technologies with other scientists, to assist their research as well.

@Moderators, I know this might not be posted in the right section but this definitely deserves a lot of attention imo. Folding@Home has been proven very effective in the past and this is a great opportunity for the Bitcoin community to contribute. We have a lot of CPU/GPU power that can be put to good use!

Personally, I think this is a great initiative. We need not to personally donate or physically hand over bills to help those who are affected by this global crisis. Let’s stand together as a community and give back to those who are in need. As we do this, let us make sure that this would really be going to those who are in need and not those who are taking advantage of the situation. I think this is a good idea. Our prior concern now is that we need to lessen actual physical contact with people and one of the daily activities that require actual contact is when we purchase goods everyday. When we use physical money to purchase these goods, we do not only have contact with the person we are handing the money to but we also make contact with the people who’ve held the bills itself. According to research one of the greatest transmitters of the virus is untraceable contact through money. If, for example, many  of us outside the bitcoin trading community will start using this as a means to buy their everyday commodities, cashless transactions, aside from using credits or debit cards. Bitcoins are another option for cashless transactions.

That's weird, my stats are correct, I guess it takes some time to update them, now you have 2,205 credits and 6 WUs and it should be fine. Not so many jobs right now, my CPU was idle for many days until yesterday.

Humm, the stats were updated yesterday, look like it's updated every x days only. Also, it often shows messages like 'bad gateway'. I wonder if it's because their servers are too busy so the stats aren't in real-time.
It's like with https://client.foldingathome.org/ which I've been able to access 2 times only

As for me, since I installed it, It was working only a few hours per day, but for 2-3 days it's working a lot more, I've always 2 works in the queue.

You have to choose "Any diseases" and wait to get a COVID-19 WUs. If you go to the news section of the site you can find what are the latest projects published and see what you can expect to work on.

@Moderators, I know this might not be posted in the right section but this definitely deserves a lot of attention imo. We need all the help we can get especially in this pandemic. Only us humans can care for each other. However, even though there are humane people, there will still be individuals who sill take advantage of the situation thinking there will be something for them. So at situation like this we need to verify and assess its legitimacy. It is best to see people of high status or reputation or even real accomplishments of the project. Not because we do not want to give away our coins, but because we just want our coins to be put into something useful and to something that would benefit the people.

This project is studying the NSP10 (Non-structural-protein-10) of SARS-CoV-2! NSP10 is an "activator" protein for critical viral function. Two other proteins, NSP14, and NSP16 are important enzymes for viral function, but they both require NSP10 to bind them and "activate" them. Without NSP10, these two enzymes would not function which would inhibit the virus from being able to replicate and transmit the infection COVID19. ...

Be careful what you download, even if it is claimed that it is for a good cause. It wouldn't be the first time someone has misused a time of crisis to gain profit for themselves. Not saying that is the case here but like always: "Don't trust. Verify"!

I agree with that. Of course that is good and noble thing to support such initiative to fight corona virus but we also need to think about security and safety in the cyber world, so check everything before you start to download something on your computer.

I fully support you. After all, in the first days of the quarantine, fraud was increased by 60%. It's terrible that people get paid this way

I needed to turn off the software and then forgot to use it again, sorry. I restarted it now and will probably install it on my second machine before the end of the week.

Are you guys using GPUs or CPUs to calculate? I have i7 on which I'm running the software but I was thinking maybe start my mining rig as I it just sits in a box righ now.
Another thing I noticed, when you are still fresh to find a WUs it takes some time, now my CPU is busy almost all the time

I'm using CPUs, the GPU is never active. And yeah I noticed it too with the WUs compared to the first week I used.
Besides this, the number of active clients seems inaccurate, for example in my case, it says 2 Active clients within 50 days, while I never used more than 1
