https://0xearth.github.io/ | https://twitter.com/0xEarth | https://discord.gg/A73P7aS | https://github.com/0xearth-tech0xEarth is a fully trustless tokenized (NFT) LAND ownership of Earth. The protocol breaks down earth into ~1 acre blocks based on the ZXY map standard, tokenizing each as an ERC-721 digital collectible / NFT.
DeFi is baked directly into 0xEarth. For each LAND you own, you can optionally rent the space out for use by someone else at your desired rate and length. A person can set another NFT (metadata) to each LAND by paying the LAND owner desired rent fee. DeFi meets advertising.
0xEarth is launching on the main net over the weekend, and will kick off the first phase of LAND sales on OpenSea using the dutch auction mechanism on Monday, March 23rd. 150 LANDs will be listed as part of the first phase. Anyone who acquires LAND as part of the first phase will have a greater say in what LANDs will be listed as part of phase 2!
The website and blog post show a high level roadmap of how 0xEarth is currently planned to be rolled out. With full deployment wrapping up by enabling ALL LAND of Earth to be fully available from directly within the smart contract itself, as well as transferring ownership of the 0xEarth token to a community run DAO. The 0xEarth ERC-721 smart contract is also fully configurable, enabling the DAO to have complete control and direction over the future 0xEarth economy. 0xEarth will be rolled out in multiple stages, to given a high level roadmap: - LAND Sale Phase 1 (150 LANDs) : March 23rd - 0xMap Android app launch : March 27th - LAND Sale Phase 2 (Community picked LANDs) : April 3rd - NFT.map dApp Launch : April 14th - Open LAND sale (any prior unsold / minted LAND fully available) : TBA - Transfer 0xEarth NFT to DAO control : TBA

The Bitcoin software, network, and concept is called "Bitcoin" with a capitalized "B". Bitcoin currency units are called "bitcoins" with a lowercase "b" -- this is often abbreviated BTC.

So if you own a certain parcel of land, what would be its use to you or any advantage of owning it? It's all digital so in reality, you don't own anything. why would it be valuable in the trading market? like for example, if you buy the Buckingham Palace, then what? i just want to understand if there is real use case of owning the digital land. or you are just paying for the thought that you own that place? isn't it a sick idea?

So only one person can own each LAND (or digital representation of earth). Within the smart contract is an entire DeFi stack. You can rent the LAND for someone else to use for fees and rent length decided by the LAND owner. So for example, you may want to get LAND near Central Park in NYC as it's a high traffic area. 0xEarth has multiple dApps in the works to enable LAND + NFT visuals across the globe. The announcement blog post outlines this: https://medium.com/@0xearth/intro-0xearth-3960b277f9d5

Why in the world would someone in the right mind will buy to own a land digitally while someone occupied and owned it in the real world? Maybe you can help me understand that a bit. The LANDs token would be worthless in the market for we know all that would be useless when the real land is barren.

It is not clear why someone needs digital land?who will rent it and what will be the benefit? It looks like a scam in the early 2000s when scammers sold land on the moon)

The LANDs token would be worthless in the market for we know all that would be useless when the real land is barren. Have you seen any other digital land platforms such as Decentraland, Cryptovoxels, or The Sandbox Game? These platforms are tokenized land ownership on Ethereum, but they each create their own unique digital world. 0xEarth is no different, except that the base digital world is that of earth. Using the ZXY (Slippy Map tilenames) https://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/Slippy_map_tilenames to generate and enforce unique ownership. This is just the early stages, but baked DIRECTLY into the token smart contracts of 0xEarth is an entire DeFi stack. Allowing you to interact with you LAND by using it for advertising, or renting it to others to use. https://medium.com/@0xearth/intro-0xearth-3960b277f9d5https://0xearth.github.io/The coming dApps will be a live map, allowing you to see owned LANDs, LANDs you can rent / interact with, or mint new LANDs. A partner is also building an Augmented Reality experience leveraging 0xEarth.

This is an open protocol, everything is open source. As well as roadmapped to transition to community DAO ownership. We are not claiming you OWN the real land, but rather a digital tokenzied version that is built on an open trustless protocol layer. AS OUTLINED IN THE BLOG POST, there are coming dApps that will interface and build on top of this.

Hmm. doesn't look that much feasible mate. Maybe you guys should just opt-out of being a DAO and created in advance a possible way for users to interact with this "digital earth"; that way people will have a better idea as to what to expect when they would own a piece of those lands. One way I could think of using this "digital lands" is to use virtual reality technology; businesses, small shops, and even service providers could buy and own a digital land and put up their digital store/shops on it, then their costumers can access it through VR. But then again, that not the direction you guys have chosen; a bit unfortunate. BTW, some tips, present the real people who are the backbone of this project, you know, transparency. That's the very key part of being a DAO.

I found the link to team, I think they are real people, at least that's how it looks. https://www.notion.so/OpenSea-is-hiring-13f54335296b4ef6a8164cc5d8ee4a8fI think the idea is good, we will see what comes out in the end and whether there is a demand for the digital world. In any case, a lot happened

A DAO means community owned. We are working toward migrating to that, and we've already put up a Github issue seeking feedback on the issue. https://github.com/0xEarth-Tech/0xEarth.DAO/issues/1We also have someone who has released an Augmented Reality app using the 0xEarth LAND protocol. https://0xearth.github.io/
