The ico scams are still increasing. BUT I do think that it is getting better, the big bubble was in 2018. Everything that included a blockchain was completely overvalued. In my opinion there are for sure very bad projects out there but if you look close you will still find some real gems
optimism that there will be improvements to ico we have to believe, in fact the beginning of 2020 there has begun to be an improvement but with the pandemic somewhat disturbed and many also began to become scams, but which also succeeded not a little and there is still optimism that there are still many projects that can be relied upon. Hopefully the pandemic can pass quickly and many good new projects arise again.

Hopefully the pandemic can pass quickly and many good new projects arise again.
The pandemic prevents ICO creators and pseudo developers from spending a lot of investors money on useless conferences and meet-ups. Despite the fact that pandemic itself is not a good thing,  it is a positive factor when we talk about ICO and its cunning CEOs. They should focus on development and creating mvp instead. It still can be done even with small investments without involving additional funds from public. They don't need ICO to start their development. When pandemic is over, it will be easier for users to choose in which projects they want to invest. They are rather going to choose those ones that were active and evolving during pandemic.

This is something that's being talked about everywhere, there are lots of articles that talk about this. Anyone who does research before proceeding to do anything would hardly for these scammers. Just like me, before I do anything I don't fail to do my research.

I search on Google and read lots of articles and learn anything that I'm supposed to learn about it. As of now, most of the times when I see scam projects I don't need anyone to tell me that they are scammers. I can easily tell when it's a scam, it's become a normal thing now. No matter how much they try to cover up, there is always one or two things that are unrealistic and show them off as a scam. An original will always be original.

how they happen and how you need to pay attention to safeguard yourself against them.
The Computer Science saw a different phase when cryptography mechanism was introduced with Bitcoin. With this big of a change, threats of fraud increased, to safeguard from these malicious activity is extremely important. Startups without blockchain should not be trusted at all. Before committing to any company, their credentials should be reviewed.
There are many fake ICOs that can scam people easily. The best way is to do research before being affiliated to that exchange. Another way is to send an email and ask about the exchange to be cautious. Phishing is another way to scam people, by asking their details and asking them to invest their Bitcoin or any other cryptocurrency. Fake Airdrops and Punycode are most common tricks.
There are many unregulated brokers that can lure clients in lower prices and trading products and fast returns. So, one needs to be vigilant. The automated trading systems are not scams but  they will take any opportunity to earn profits. Exchanges will charge an unfair amount to withdraw, the best way to avoid is to already be aware of exchanges price differences.
Fake emails look so authentic but at the end they are still fake. Check every bit of information before acting upon it. Many companies copy and paste some other company’s whitepaper, rather than having an original idea of their own.
Most exchanges use fake information for their team members. To be careful one must look for incomplete or inconsistent information and odd details.Inconsistent texts or details on any part of the website is also a red flag. One should read and proofread to be sure.
People should run scans to look for any Bitcoin miner or bot in the system. Companies will do anything for money, to ensure safety and security right websites should be used. There is a lot of responsibility one needs to practice in order to be careful.

I think this is one of the points of improvements for bitcoins and cryptocurrency. The security and the purpose of the bitcoins to avoid using these for illegal activities that could do harm to others. Aside from the possibility of being frauded, I’ve read somewhere that many pedophiles from across the globe use these to buy pornographic movies. These movies star a minor, a little girl, sometimes a little boy and would feature inhumane activities. Sometimes, they trade human inner organs and pay using these as well. I think as users of this, as we promote that this could be the future, I think we should keep in mind that this we have responsibilities when handling these.

Knowledge is power.
When we already have a basic knowledge, plus experience, then we will not be easily trapped in a fraud scenario. At this stage, we will not be easily provoked with big reward bait in a short time. Nothing is instant, everything requires a process. Moreover, there is a promise that will get xxx% profit in just a few weeks. How dare they provide such guarantees when the crypto market is very dynamic.
Well, to get the position as you feel it would require a lot of effort and time. It was truly very valuable experience.

Reading is the key. Start with this simple thing so you don't easily get caught up in fraud.

Being in the forum automatically introduces some of the risks. First we got that risk of having our identities taken by someone in the forum DEPENDING on how well we hide our identity. The Cryptocurrency industry is not full of fraud and scams because some people are making their profits from it. That is actually good because if we can look for ways to do that too, then we can profit from it too. We just always need to consider the risk whenever we join a project and make sure that we are ready to face those risks.

Fraud and scammers are everywhere. There are also many scams in Cryptocurrencies. They provide many bonuses and make people greedy, raising some funds, and then fled. A lot of community here to prevent scam but they can not stop it fully. There are also many projects that never have a realistic future plan and hardworking team. As a result, they lose the value of their currency when it comes to the market, which causes financial loss to investors and makes people feel cheated. Therefore, before investing in ICO, one should know all the information about the project and invest in the project. As a result, The projects involved in fraud will not be able to collect assets and ICO will not come in the market with such projects.

need cooperation and foresight in today's disclosure with the growing number of scam projects. now seems to have become a trend to do fraud projects by giving large bonuses but the value obtained is far from expected, and even more ridiculous is to disappear and not be responsible.
this must be stopped immediately because it will impact many investors who are afraid to put their funds into a new project.
cooperation and mutual information are needed so that the behavior of people who want to cheat can be stopped and not given an opportunity so that they finally deterrent.

Reading helps a lot to explore and find which project really worth and which is fraud and scam. There are lot of fraud than the legit, just beware. Even for the coin itself, it is not trusted which the not good to remember and many are suffering from it. There are some that using it for their own benefits so better to be wise where to invest.

Back in (2019) I had made an investment with Amega,Plus500,OMCmarkets, FXcryptoclub,Kontofx, Goldcfd & HotForex which was introduced to me by a friend who had invested and made solid returns from them without withdrawing profits. We were a chain of huge investors who only wanted to make enough to suit out lifestyles. I requested a withdrawal and I was denied. I became very worried and asked the rest of the people in the chain to do same. Little did we know that we had been played. We invested ( 6,070,000 Euro ) collectively. I had to seek help from a top International wealth recovery expert when i googled his name "fastfundsrecovery" with a track record of such capacity to recover investments such as this. We all got (92%) of our investments back collectively. Please keep away from these companies as the experience with them was downright distasteful!! They do not even reply emails anymore.

When it comes to investment then you should really be aware on how do things work neither you are considering to throw up some money here on crypto or even on traditional business. Scams does exist not only here but also in the other side.As long it do involves money then scammers or criminal minds would really find out ways on how they would really take advantage to those people who do lack knowledge for them to get money via
frauds or scams which is somewhat really rampant here in crypto where it do particularly talks about ICO and other ways of fooling out people towards investment.

Everyone just needs to use common sense when it comes to scams.  Realize that a large portion of the cryptocurrency industry is a scam.  If it's too good to be true it is, period.  Looking back and learning from mistakes such as those who bought in to bitconnect...looks what they were offering, %..wise.  It was realistic. Use these same principles and visit the scam section of bitcointalk often.

This should be obvious for so many people in this forum because scams have been doing the same formulaic and routine way to attract gullible people, back then it is not the people who has the problem but now, I think the people is the problem, they all believe this frauds based on data that were given to them, no research and common sense, always wishful thinking.

Unfortunately many people ignore logic because they want instant and many benefits.  This syndrome often attacks the newbie.  They come to the world of crypto because they are interested in the huge benefits offered.  The fact is that big profits are not obtained instantly, there is a learning process, there is an adaptation process that must be passed so that it gets the right strategy.  Sometimes, they are only ready to profit, but not ready to lose.  When they are trapped by losses, which are caused by their own negligence, they say out loud: crypto scam.  I'm sometimes fed up, but can't do much.  We should always remind ourselves to never invest in a business you cannot understand.

They are choosing cryptocurrency because they can anonymize themselves but in fact, they can't. They just thought they are undetected but tracing transactions with bitcoin and altcoin through blockchain will make them vulnerable but most of the time, when people got scammed, they report it but most of the time, they just do nothing. But with the knowledge of the transaction tracing and having a deeper knowledge about block explorer, they might find the culprit.

It's very rare to talk about the types of scam before what happens to hacked Twitter accounts. The crypto industry which is known to be safe in its technology, makes fraudsters usually target their users and this is where users have to be very careful when they do business through the cryptocurrency industry. Because there are still a lot of victims even though by means of fraud that is old school, this happens because users are not so alert and easily trust others. Even though the crypto industry is anonymous.
