Anyone here subscribed to this service?

I subscribed to their telegram channel to get updated with upcoming cryptocurrency events. The platform is actually pretty good that's why I was surprised to see it shilling a paid group - https://t.me/cmcal_bot/13962 (archived)

Yeah, maybe they needed funding from donors and/or sponsors to keep the service going but shilling a paid/pump & dump signal group is a bit low. You might consider switching to other platforms before you get bombarded with similar ads.

It is a common myth that Bitcoin is ruled by a majority of miners. This is not true. Bitcoin miners "vote" on the ordering of transactions, but that's all they do. They can't vote to change the network rules.

That might part of their business model if they have to so they can have another source of income. But this shouldn't be one of their niche if they are accepting paid sponsorships, not with a pump and dump group.

It may also be that they were not aware of the content of the advertisement. It often happens that not every advertisement is checked for permitted content.

Lol, that's just lame even if it were true but I'm pretty confident they would screen advertisers and their content first before putting it into their system. They wouldn't want a content with phishing links and malwares would they?

Why do I pay to get  get updated with upcoming cryptocurrency events? Did I miss anything or do events affect price and lead to daily changes?
I will stay away from them as soon as I know they are a paid service. Getting this data is not difficult to pay for them and they can request donations if I feel the channel is useful.
I stay away from all the channels that offer such updates, and I only subscribe to the channels after I know all the participants.

Don't misunderstand. They are not charging you anything for subscribing to their channel and for receiving crypto events/updates. What's shady is that they are also advertising another telegram group which sells crypto signals.

Announcements of events today doesn't affect the price of most altcoins but it's a different story back in 2017. Regardless of the effect on price, it is still good to follow such announcements to keep up with the progress especially if you are a long term investor.

I checked their channel again and searched for that sponsored post. It looks like it's been deleted.

That could be a good sign or they don't have any pending offers lately. We don't know.

I've seen that announchment but yeah it was just deleted maybe they are only pick some users.

Coinmarketcal is a useful site for me so far, and it has become a routine for me when I start trading or start turning on a PC.

Bttzed03, what do you conclude from the fact that they have removed the advertisement? Do you continue to use CoinmarketCal again?

They deleted that sponsored post but that does not necessarily mean they stopped accepting future ads.

It's also possible that they removed the post because of a stipulation that it will only run for a few days/weeks.

I'm still subscribed but I've muted it since I made this post.
