If I understand you clearly, you are trying to dump a token that is trading at a volume below what you have in total. If that be the case, you may not be able to sell all at the same time and also at a specific price. You will need to be selling in a smaller quantity until you have sold all of the tokens. All you may wait until the token is listed on another exchange with huge traders. Probably people buy the token in order for your own token sell order to be completely filled.

Well, I have done something quite similar before so I can definitely respond to this. I didn't do 400k of course, I was never that lucky so I can't really say for that much amount but if you just over scale the discussion you can find something from what I have done to be useful. I didn't sold from the market price, I didn't even made any rush neither, I just took my time and did it in 10 days and I got out.

I was dealing with a coin that had around 3-4k tokens (not dollars, that token) traded everyday, and I had 20k of that token (again 20k tokens, not 20k dollars) so what I did was, whenever someone put a sell order at 1 satoshi lower price, lets say spread was 3456 to 4567, so I put my order at 4566, someone put it on 4565 and I changed mine to 4564, that way I was always the next one to sell while also not selling on market price of 3456 neither, I also put whatever that person was putting as the volume too, so if he was selling 700 tokens I was selling 700 tokens as well.

Basically after a while if you are careful enough you were the only person who sold that token for 10 days and you would make a great return as well because you can literally buy more of that token back from highest buy order at 3457 instead.

Undoubtedly, it is a bad thing for a businessman to take on more  volume of the loss, If that happens day after day then it is much worse. Here is what happened, so as a business representative, I would say that the coins are not small enough to leave the coins unattended, but find the buyer.

If you have $400,000 worth of an Altcoin, that has a daily trading volume of $100,000, how do you offload it? Because it seems like a coin with a medium amount of trading volume only has maybe $500 trades at the most. So I don't get how someone could offload a large amount?

For you have 400,000 $ worth of an altcoin; then its either you are a team member, or private investors who get portion of supply for investing.
And mind you, you will have no reason to offloan 400,000$ worth at once, instead you will prefer to invest more to make project better.

With a daily volume of 100,000, and token of 400,000$ to sell, you are basically going to ruin the token and its trade totallly

The daily trading volume is 100,000$, I suggest you sell bit by bit, like 50,000$ today and repeat the process in other days, remember that this will have bad impact on the project, price will go down, so don't dump once

Okay 400000 sounds a lot for a retail investor to invest in a altcoin. Anyway if you do have that and volume is low be careful not to crash the price by putting huge sell orders. Do it step by step

I have to say, now is a time where the situation of the mutual interest is showing, I do not think that the stability of the coin market will last long. The behavior of this market has not been desirable in any way since the 2017. To this day, this submerged market has not been able to wander. As a result, we are calculating the loss of mid-sized traders. Have you ever wondered in the light of your topic, how can the interest of investing go down at this point if it is to suffer losses? The answer may be, "yes", because you have come to realize it.

With a small volume, you can try to sell your altcoin in a small portion, however, this might take some time and might require patience. Just hope there will be demand on the coin you are holding because as you sell them in portion the price will go lower eventually.

How could you get that amount for an altcoin with a very small volume? that sure is a problem if you needed money and that's all that you got but you have problems selling them in the market for having that volume which can't even satisfy you.
There's no other way to sell that whole amount until you do it for each day and wait for those buy orders at any price range that they want and it is up to your decision if you are willing to sell it at any price then, you have no choice but to take those orders.

The only option is to off load them slowly and in small portions. And because it has small liquidity, doing it in one dump might cause a negative impact on the price itself so it might affect your investments very badly. You might sell like $100-$1000 and then wait for a few days and continue the cycle. Make your self unpredictable so hide your intentions of dumping your stash.

To avoid collapsing prices, you need to sell them in small portions and last for days. This will help you not to lose too much and also help prevent project tokens from collapsing

If you rush to place a large sell order, you will automatically create panic since traders will think its team selling off. As already suggested, sell in parts and not on the same day. Don't bother setting sell order in my opinion, or if u must do, not on same day. Just take best buy orders across some days.

If the volume is just stable, you can still sell it but it will really take time.

Carefully analyze the movement of the coin because the moment you sell a big portion, the price might dump and it might affect the future price,
Selling slowly requires patience and that's the only method you will have to do in order to get the best value.

That is not a problem actually, you are holding a big amount of money but you can still sell that into pieces.

Try to sell first the coins that are listed in big exchange or those coins with great trading volume, I believe every exchange have different limit but as long as your coins is trading in an exchange, you'll be able to sell them all for sure.

I agree with @mirakal here. It's a bummer that you can't place an order and get rid of all of it in that way but it doesn't mean that you can't sell it if you wanted to. Different exchanges have different trading volumes and even if you were to do it in batches you should still be able to sell all the alt. Better option would be to explore the trading volume of different exchanges and start from there  Wink

Daily trade volume in most cases is inflated. So you can't go by the numbers based on the exchange data. If the exchanges are not inflating it, then there is a good chance that the bots are responsible for most of the volume. Anyway, I have never dealt with such huge volumes before. However, my suggestion would be to go for peer to peer deals outside the exchange. But then, you need to offer steep discounts (40% or 50%), and I would recommend it only in case you are facing extreme cash crunch.

You can not sell that huge tokens buy yourself unless you want to crash the price which is not good for you, if you are not a patient trader, that is why most of these exchanges now have OTC trade, just contact them and tell them the average price you want to sell the tokens, but their fee is relatively high as compared to if you want to sell it directly on exchange yourseelf

I think the first thing to do is to check if it is listed on another better change, if it is not then selling in smaller amount will be the best way for you and for everyone. Selling at once will crash the market and will likely drive away buyers, and of course will affect you too. So you will be patient while you sell gradually, it will take time but it looks like the best option and I don't see any other way.

Selling all out once will wipe out the price. The only way you can sell an altcoin that way is to stage sell it. You sell it portion by portion, so that the price can still stay up.

Bad news!  I never want to receive such sad news. When I saw some scammers in the beginning hacking or scamming them in another way, I didn't mind. But now that the market is starting to decline, by investing $10000 coins you have to lose $6000 coins. I do not understand how an investor will suffer the destruction of his hard earned wealth there.
