few weeks ago i was looking for a best link shortener that pays in bitcoin and i came across some obsolete sites and some old topic from 2013-14.

If you google for shortener site:bitcointalk.org and in tools you pick "last year" you should get more relevant data.

I've read lately about Z24 but I don't know if it's any good.
Actually that's why I've suggested google: I cannot really recommend any since I didn't use them. Still, I hope it helps a little bit.

people barely trust obvious short links such as goo.gl and bit.ly because they are "hiding" the real URL and visiting random sites could be a disaster specially for bitcoiners who may leak their secret information and lose money if they get infected. they are never going to click an unknown looking URL that is also shortened.
if you are looking for ways to earn money, there are better ways.

Back in 2013 I had a website with CoinURL BTC-paying shorteners and A-Ads advertisements. CoinURL pretty much scammed me (they had a withdrawal limit, I withdrew once I hit that limit and they never sent the money neither did they reply to my e-mails), while A-Ads is still running over there but I'm only getting a few satoshis a day now because I haven't updated the website in years so it's pretty much dead.

One thing I noticed is that my website's shortened links got significantly less clicks than those non-shortened. It's most likely for the same reason BrewMaster said a reply above: you never know where you're going to be redirected and it could be a fake website or a phishing trap. I haven't used it for such reasons, but many surely did.

Therefore, my advice is:
  1. Make sure you do a background check of the services you're going to use for link shortening or for advertisements because you don't want to work in vain
  2. Remember that hiding your links means less traffic

Many users have been scammed by them including me, that was one of my worst experiences when I'm just start earning bitcoin.

good to know but link shortener is a necessary evil cause it protect my link that i want to share

I haven't any Bitcoin url shortener recently, so I can't vouch for any of them. I can only suggest to look at Micro Earnings section here on Bitcointalk, I saw announcement of few shortlink websites. I also remember seing list of Bitcoin shortlink websites somewhere, but now I can't find link.

You have good point, "clean" websites rarely shortlinks. Usually it's used by torrent websites, other kind of download websites, movies online. It's also often used to monetize faucets. Owners of such websites have to use shortlinks, because they don't have many options how to monetze their websites. They aren't accept to Google Adsense and other solid ad networks.

Same here i have been scammed and my account gets frozen with the BTC on it. CoinURL was supposed to be a good option for this, the truth is we have no a decent shortener service to earn coins, the best option is addfly and buy bitcoin with the profit.

Never had a good profit with adfly, they are more restricted than other shortener services, while it doesn't accept btc for their payments, but with paypal its too hard to make a trade to someone via p2p with bitcoins not unless you're more trusted especially on this forum.

Depends on your website traffic and location your visitors come from. No doubt tier-1 country visitors such as from the US and Canada yield the best rates.

Nope, but I wouldn't risk doing so. However they have a Live chat so anyone can post their questions there.

They change the rates pretty quickly so you tend to earn less without realizing it.
