What old coins are you still holding?

I still holding one of the coins when you're a bounty manager for them: Altcom/SONO. Had it as a masternode but profit was super low below $1 and project was almost inactive. Too little to care about so I don't know if that could count as holding lol.

if the project is not active and the profits they provide are small, it's better to choose another masternode, which can give you a good profit, in my opinion it's better to just sell the coins that you hold if the team has no further development,

LTC is probably the oldest altcoin that I hold. I have started investing in LTC since 2017 and often have a lot of profits from it, that's why I continue to invest now. I also have over 200 tokens of no value in my wallet, they came from the airdrop I participated in since 2017

LTC is one of the oldest altcoins in existence. But it hasn't performed very well during the course of 2020. Being a limited cryptocurrency like Bitcoin, it should've been worth $1k by now. Compare LTC's 84 million total supply vs BTC's 21 million total supply to see for yourself. Even Ethereum has a higher price than LTC, despite not having a finite supply. This shows us that people are following the next big thing in crypto, than anything else. Usually, old coins are left behind in the dust while people follow the "new kid on the block".

Based on this, it's recommended to hold less old coins than new coins. I personally keep my holdings on 3 most prominent old coins in the crypto/Blockchain space. Those are Bitcoin, Litecoin, and Dogecoin. That's because these coins never die in the sense that people actually trade them continuously on the market. Bitcoin is the oldest and most successful cryptocurrency around with a community that doesn't stop growing. As long as the aforementioned coins are useful to the world, they'll last a lifetime. The rest will simply go down the drain as people replace them to newer ones on the market. I still hold many old coins that are not being traded on the market anymore. Their blockchain networks are still alive. But without trading pairs, they often go unnoticed. At least, you can still use old coins "under the table" without market pairs as long as their blockchain networks are still operating as usual. Just my opinion

XLM and XMR I just found out that I still have the two coins, I think it's been more than 2 years I save them, the reason is that I forgot and just check it now. BTC is a coin that is still worth to hold, I don't hold many old coins, because new coins have several considerations for me to be in their market. How about NXT? they are quite interesting in their time.

There were tokens gotten from bounties and airdrops that I'm still holding those tokens, Publish protocol (NEWS) is still in a high speed of increase ever since hunters sells out. It had risen up to 350% since last month.

good for you. however, I think we have in common, that most of the tokens that have been in my wallet for a long time are gifts from bounties or airdrops. Well, it's just that some of the coins I hold don't have a price, or don't have a market. I just hope the token will have a price someday. however, the old coins that I have and still have benefits to this day are top altcoin.

This is one of my regrets because i thought that my token always increased, so i keep hold it and now i got nothing. I do that because i don't have more knowledge about crypto. Most of these coins I bought were in 2018, so on most coins my loss is around 70-80 %  . When there is a new major pump, I will only keep bitcoin and ethereum.

Lol... It's obvious. After some people called ETH shit coin some times ago, now they want to hold, because they feel it now has more potential and is likely to touch $400 soon or more. Everyone now knows what seems to be ahead. DeFi projects are seriously gathering momentum.

I don't know if 2 years to keep is an old coin but I have several that still exist till today or whether its a shit coin or not but actually I'm still holding it. LOKI, XTZ, DOT, I just got it from the beginning of the creation of it.

What is the point in holding coins, that are no longer actively mined or traded? From what I have seen, once a coin is dead it never comes back. The promoters move to new projects and for others there is no incentive to revive a dead coin which was created by someone else. Anyway, most of the developers opt to create a new coin rather than reviving an old one.

This is because nobody longer believe in their coins. Once a coin has been labelled total shit coin, that is all andthere is nothing anyone can do about it again. Since there is no rule guiding the creation of projects and there is no rule restricting the developers from developing another project, they move on and repeat what happened to the previous.

I am not a holder, I enter and exit the market when there is a good opportunity, both in terms of fundamental or technical. I only hold tokens and coins from the bounty campaign, I become the coin and token holder because I have to, do you know? because it's worthless 
and most of the others are not listed on the exchange. So it becomes a permanent resident in my wallet.
I hope that the reward I get in 2018s can be valuable when the alt season comes.

Unfortunately, old coins are often replaced by the "new kid on the block". This means that most old coins are not worth "hodling" for the long term as they depreciate in price over time. Only Bitcoin and Ethereum are the exception, since they're still one of the most popular coins in the mainstream world. It's best to "hodl" these coins alongside new ones with active development and innovation, in order to prevent many undesired losses in the future.

Right now, there are many old coins that are still alive. But they're often "under the radar" as people are mostly focused on profits rather than utility. There are many good coins like Namecoin and Primecoin, each with their unique features in the crypto/Blockchain space. AFAIK, there are no other coins like Primecoin with an innovative PoW consensus algorithm based on prime numbers. It helps our society with the discovery of prime numbers, putting PoW's "energy consumption" to good use. Sometimes I wish a new dev team or the community would take over the development of Primecoin, in order to further improve its consensus algorithm. Being one-of-a-kind coin, I consider it to be a hidden gem. Namecoin, on the other hand, is a good old coin with a decentralized domain name system. It was the first cryptocurrency to ever make use of a decentralized DNS. Ethereum may have taken the lead in decentralized domain names, but Namecoin is still an alternative worth considering.

No matter which old coins you choose to "hodl" for the long term, it's important to never put all your life savings on them. The risks with old coins are much higher than shiny, new ones on the market. You could end up "holding the bag" someday if your old coin of choice becomes abandoned in development. This in effect, leads to exchanges de-listing the coin, putting trading activity all the way down the drain. You can still use the Blockchain if there is at least 1 node and miner on the network, though. I'm still "hodling" Spreadcoin, despite not having any exchanges available. The Blockchain is still alive and running, which makes the cryptocurrency useful. Let's hope that abandoned coins like Spreadcoin experience revived interest from a new dev team sometime in the future. Just my opinion

Well, the oldest one in my portfolio would probably be ETH, but now even tokens from 2017 are being considered as "old", so I guess my portfolio consist of mostly old coins and some exciting newcomers. The unfortunate thing is that most those old ones are rapidly being forgotten which reflects on their price as well, but I guess I am waiting for a potential hyper bull so I can get rid of them and swap them for something with more momentum behind it.

by that logic then the coin i hold that is most older is bitcoin lol, i guess everyone actually hold that oldest crypto in existence without even realizing it but so far I've converted almost all of my asset to major alts like ETH and BTC just for security and nothing more.

The oldest coin I have other than Bitcoin is Digibyte because it was the easiest to mine back then and I still have thousands of them in one of the old wallets address. Since it's just a few dollars so I just leave it here.
