Down from 36 to 24 Taking the biggest scammer out of DT certainly helps.

Down from 36 to 24 Taking the biggest scammer out of DT certainly helps. Having red tag anymore does not mean a user is a scammer. We need a feature to identify scammers, red tag is not working anymore.

The red tag indicates possible scammer. The biggest scammer has a -8. Are you telling me each of those ratings are political and he is a trustworthy guy?

I don't know who has -8, do you mind mentioning him? Most of the tags now a days are political, more likely showing off the power. These days you will find very little number of members who are not trustworthy because they have red feedback.

Having red tag anymore does not mean a user is a scammer. I don't remember ever reading that having red tags directly means that the user is a scammer. They are simply interpreted as high-risk from the specific user. It's just that most of the times, when a user is a scammer, DT1 and DT2 will post a negative feedback and add a flag. Most of the tags now a days are political All types of tags? Maybe, but I rarely notice a negative feedback from DT1 or DT2 that has to do with politics. Negative feedback is almost always based on objective criteria, like fraud or lies. In fact, I'd like you to direct me to such examples, as you claim that you're noticing.

Giving negative feedback based on the fact that you don't like someone or you don't like someone's behaviour is still an improper use of the DT system. Of course, a large number of DT members "ignore" the inappropriate red tag. It seems confusing for newbies and less experienced forum users

Those types of tags have certainly reduced over time as more and more members become inactive. They would mostly be common among long time members of the forum, who in some cases had grudges or simple disagreements with each other and then end up exchange negative feedback, but then you know they haven't scammed anyone. Let me dig up an example edit: Anduck and SaltySpitoon

I, in fact, don't remember any 'political' tags and I don't know if guys like BADecker would deserve any. Out of curiosity I look, and I see that he only has one neutral tag, so if he doesn't have any negative one, there won't be many negative political tags on the forum.
I suppose that when BitcoinGirl.club talks about political tags he refers to those not directly related to money exchange experiences, but in some cases I don't need to have exchanged money with someone to know that they can't be trusted. Neither on the forum nor off it.
I just remembered another one who does seem to have 'political' tags, that would be franky1, but he's a very peculiar guy and such tags are rather the exception, like him, not the norm.

Bitcoin fork shills tend to get red tagged. Although some of them are bona fide scammers, others are just typical shitcoiners... and we don't red tag every shitcoiner.

That's what I'd call an "improper use" of the trust system. Shilling a shitcoin does not make you a scammer. A "shitcoin" is not an objective criterion. Some may call Bitcoin "shitcoin", according to their priorities. I see Lauda had left several such red tags on people who supported Bitcoin Cash. I wasn't around when Lauda was active, but I know she (or he?) was somewhat established and respected. I didn't understand this line of thinking, to be honest. If someone is a scammer, it is better to describe the specific actions that make them a scammer, rather than labeling them based on ideological differences. (Unless it is clearly evident that the project is a scam)

(Unless it is clearly evident that the project is a scam) IMO trying to trick people into believing a bitcoin fork is "The Real Bitcoin" is dishonest and worthy of red trust. As we all know there is only one "real bitcoin" and it is Bitcoin. Years back there was a few people who came to the forum to complain about buying BCH thinking it was BTC. This was because of dishonest marketing at bitcoin.com. Maybe some people (such as Ver) truly believe in their heart they are shilling "the real bitcoin", but I wouldn't trust flat-out lunatics to provide sound financial advice either.

IMO trying to trick people into believing a bitcoin fork is "The Real Bitcoin" is dishonest and worthy of red trust. As we all know there is only one "real bitcoin" and it is Bitcoin. I wouldn't tag people for this, but I see the dilemma. If what's real is decided by what the (large) majority of the Bitcoin community thinks, it feels like forcing people to stay in line. Years back there was a few people who came to the forum to complain about buying BCH thinking it was BTC. This was because of dishonest marketing at bitcoin.com. So what's your opinion on Binance? They have many withdrawal options for fake tokens they call Bitcoin. It's going to be interesting when it happens to the ETF-guys.
