What happened:
I saw a post in one telegram group offering the following "First 20 people who DM me, i'll help make $1000 in one day". Knowing it's certainly a scam, I offered myself as bait to see how it plays along.

Scammer telegram profile:
Phang (@jo_phang)
Support_ RealCapitalTrades (@realcapitaltrades1)
Otal (@otal_11)

Scam platform url:
https://www.realcapitaltrades.com/

Red flags showing it's a scam:
1) Variety of grammatical errors on the website (scammers make these sites pretty fast, so they often overlook grammar)

2) There is a link that say "Watch video about our company" but it only opens youtube.com

3) Unrealistic ROI

4) They are willing to bed the rules for minimum investment, just as long as you invest

Also, these are the wallets they give out for you to "invest" in :
BTC: 1AuazyzjoDZWfdAose5ZQV6Xji8XdNqu4K
LTC: MBnyJEG6UvfXwnoDRRd57mit1entPhKBqo
ETH: 0xA3bcaE439A21Bf5bB3ed617deFADdF629ab5A793
Even in the event that an attacker gains more than 50% of the network's computational power, only transactions sent by the attacker could be reversed or double-spent. The network would not be destroyed.

Nice find. Generally, it makes sense to take a few precautions with Telegram. The platform itself is fine, but it gets targeted by scammers like many others, too. So, make sure to:

  • Restrict the invite settings, so nobody (or only your contacts) can add you to groups. If you can't get invited into shady groups, you can't fall prey to its content.
  • Disable automatic media download. By default, Telegram downloads all media into a local folder on your computer / phone. While I'm not aware of any such incident, you don't wanna end up being the first one who gets invited into a group (see first point), has some malware auto download onto your system and have it executed.
  • General rules for chats: if a stranger contacts you and offers you something (recently, they started doing a few days of random blabla in order to establish trust before they launch their "offer"), ALWAYS expect it to be a scam. Check his profile: if he has no common groups with you, you can be certain that he bought a Telegram crypto user list somewhere and is searching for prey.

Stay safe! Smiley

Edit: @OP I once learned that scammers often put typos into their content on purpose, to make sure only less gifted people get attracted. Because intelligent people are a waste of time. But that was in relation to the 1990+ bank phishing scams, not sure if this applies to the current situation, too. But still, I found this quite interesting, because my initial assumption was that they're too dumb, while in fact, it's a pretty "clever" filter.

Be careful, if you're going to play with this site for fun, don't use your real credentials!

I have just checked all addresses. You have collected 0.07218008 BTC, may have transferred something yourself, ETH and LTC address are empty. People want to earn $ 1000 in one day, but their money will be lost

Scammers always find ways of trying to continue with their scams. They probably have multiple websites running the same template in order to maximise the number of people they can steal from. The number of these types of scam websites are increasing, I hope innocent gullible people keep away from them.
