I'm looking to buy 3-4K worth of BTC. Only serious sellers please, and I will insist on using an escrow service.

What is the country where you are doing this electronic transfer from?
I am not sure if escrow will this amount for you and they usually dont do it for free so expect to have one to charge a bit of off the top.
I think you can do this using paxful up to a certain amount at a time. Maybe 3 trades at a time to fill the amount you are looking for.
Hope this helps you out.

The country you are could be important to advice on purchase. Personal trade from members of the forum is not advisable, people can be trusted, if escrow is not involved is safer and I hope escrow wont also demand too much fee. Binance has more countries coverage of E-transfer purchase of crypto now, this service is available in more countries recently with cheaper transaction fee.

trouble is id like to do it without KYC, I think paxful now requires kyc, as does binance. Though I understand if I e-transfer it's not completely anonymous, I was hoping to find someone on here with a good reputation that could act as an escrow service. I understand country will be important, but I'm going to wait for PMs from people before I disclose that. I've already been given recommendations for members on here that provide escrow services, but am open to advice, as well as sell offers from those who are reputable.
I am sure its not easy for you to have buy for this option better to use escrow and then do this all because right now you are wasting your time and its not going to help you or try some other way which help you anonymous which is very hard right now as most of sites are going with this KYC.
