I don't disagree with you. Just holding Bitcoin is a more safer option for any crypto user. Being #1 means that Bitcoin's volatility is at a bare minimum as there are more holders, volume, traders and all-round users. But then, Bitcoin doesn't give the much desired profits (except you're shorting the highs and longing lows).  That's where altcoins come in, higher gains with increased risks attached. Seems fair. While you lost while trading/holding altcoins, Some people got richer/wealth doing the same thing. So at the end of the day, we should realized that what works for Peter might not work for Paul.

As for me, the best cryptocurrency to buy no matter the time or year are those which have the required features, products and services to remain useful at all times; not those whose usefulness comes with seasons, nevertheless I must commend the list. However, from that list, I didn't see BNB and Bitcoin; as it stands in this crypto world, Bitcoin is always the number 1 to be considered on the other hand, with Binance being the top exchange makes its token a good one as well.

of course. having a watchlist of good coins is great. at that moment when the price of the coin that you are following becomes low - you can buy it, but it is best to replace one coin with another in your portfolio, but not create a portfolio of a huge number of coins

Well people tend to look after for different coin since everything on the surface is at low prices wherein the profit is hardly to make. Look at LINK, it is interestingly moving in up direction from which I can tell people are getting ride too. You know when the coin isn't moving people try to find something to ride on, bitcoin ethereum and ripple at low estate now, they are moving but just a bit low.
